  • how to stop continuous bzzzz of sliding honda van door?

I have a 2000 honda odyssey. When the middle/sliding/passenger door doesn't close completely the buzzer goes continuously. It doesn't let up. All the pins retract normally. I used canned air to clean it out well. Locked and unlocked several times. Closed manually and automatically. Buzzer still going as soon as car is in gear. Any suggestions before I take it to honda dealer? Replace Fuse? Replace door closing and catching mechanism? How do I turn the buzzer off? It's driving me nuttier.

  • What question on the 2010 census is it manditory to answer?

I know all the questions on the census don't have to be answered, but which one does have to be answered? The administration just wants extra information and are using our tax dollars to collect it. Not illegal, but not mandatory. And don't even bother to phone the number on the census form because the person answering doesn't have an answer and isn't allowed to answer questions. They just read a prepared message.

  • How can I retrieve my dvd/cd-rom driver? I have a desktop PC using Windows XP, Home Edition. No warranty.?

When I insert a cd the light blinks a few times but nothing happens. I found that the driver for the manufacturer installed dvd player is missing. I don't know when that happened. Under systems, device manager for DVD/CD-ROM, there is a yellow ! at LITE on LTR 24102B. I get messages that the driver has been corrupted or moved and (code 39).

Since cd's won't play I can't use a disk to reinstall. And when I go to start, run, and type in the command D:\RUNMENU.EXE the message says it refers to a location that is unavailable. Of course no updates for the driver work. Is this driver still on my hard drive? And how do I get it back?

I looked at cnet for a download but am totally confused if any of those will work. If there is a download that will work what is it called?

The volume and internet clips, as well as music previously loaded on the computer, works fine.

  • How much protein do my dogs need? One is a 13 year old german shepard mix. The other is a border collie mix?

She is 10 years old. One is on Rimadyl, the other takes clavamox. Both have stomach trouble with dry dog food. The vet knows I cook and feed them chicken, rice and veggies as well as no fat yogurt, and vitamins. But what part of the mix should be protein? The morning meal is either oatmeal with apples, or a microwaved egg.

  • how often can I give my 14 year old, 50 pound dog an 81mg asprin?

She will be 14 years next Jan. Every night I give her one 81mg aspirin to let her rest and sleep. Twice a day she gets the same glucosomine-chondroitin-msm capsule I take. All last night she paced but doesn't have a fever or distress to go to the vet. I gave her an aspirin this morning. She drank water and ate breakfast (after I cooked rice and mixed it with canned salmon). She is finally sleeping. She does have a vet appt for monday. I am baking a chicken for her supper.

  • how much will it cost to have a heat pump system installed to heat/cool a 1600 sq ft house?

This is a replacement unit. I realize the cost will vary by make, model and where I live. I live in coastal SC and want the least expensive unit as I don't expect to be in the house another 5 years.

  • Do you know how poisonous grapes and raisins are for all dogs?

If you have a dog... PLEASE read this and send it on

    Written by:

    Laurinda Morris, DVM

    Danville Veterinary Clinic

    Danville , Ohio

This week I had the first case in history of raisin toxicity ever seen at

MedVet. My patient was a 56-pound, 5 yr old male neutered lab mix that ate

    half a canister of raisins.

He started with vomiting, diarrhea and shaking.

I had heard somewhere about raisins AND grapes causing acute Renal Failure

but hadn't seen any formal paper on the subject. We had her bring the dog in

immediately. In the meantime, I called the ER service at MedVet, and the

doctor there was like me - had heard something about it, but.... Anyway, we

contacted the ASPCA National Animal Poison Control Center and they said to

give I V fluids and watch the kidney values.

He started vomiting again overnight at MedVet.

He was on 3 different anti-vomiting medications and they still couldn't

control his vomiting. At this point I felt the dog was in acute renal

    failure.

    His urine output decreased again.

His BUN was over 120, his creatinine was at 10, his phosphorus was very

elevated and his blood pressure, which had been staying around 150,

skyrocketed to 220. He continued to vomit and the owners elected to

    euthanize.

This is a very sad case - great dog, great owners who had no idea Raisins

could be a toxin. Please alert everyone you know who has a dog of this very

    serious risk.

Poison control said as few as 7 RAISINS or GRAPES could be toxic. Many

people I know give their dogs grapes or raisins as treats. Any exposure

should give rise to immediate concern.

Even if you don't have a dog, you might have friends who do. This is worth

    passing on to them.

Confirmation from Snopes about the above...

  • Do you know of blogs, BB's or other internet places to meet people in Scotland?

I would like to explore the possibility of living with a family in Scotland for several months. See Hadrians wall. Play with Nessie in the Loch. Work with herding dogs. The whole experience. It will be a year before I can do this. I am a retired adult.
