  • An original Disney star died today?

Most of you are too young to remember but Annette Funicello was an original Mousecateer in the 50's. (Spelling? sorry) She went on to have a recording career and a movie career in the 60's and 70's. All those cheesy beach movies that starred her and Frankie Avalon in the 60's. She had suffered from MS for years but I don't know if that killed her. RIP Annette.

  • May I ask the young ladies here a serious question?

I am a middle aged man. I don't hit on women. I treat them respectfully. I come from the "old school" of complimenting a lady when she looks nice. All it is is a compliment. But in today's day and age, women look at me like I am a pig trying to hit on them if I compliment them. I often have to qualify the compliment ahead of time by saying, "please don't take this as a come on" or something similar. Today I saw a lady that I do business with a lot (at my local Moneytree). She had changed her hairstyle and it looked great and I told her so. She got real nervous. Should I just not compliment ladies anymore? Thanks in advance.

  • The Duchess and morning sickness?

OK, I am as sympathetic as the next person for the pregnant ladies going through morning sickness. And since millions of women go through it every day, why does the Duchess having morning sickness warrant a global news story? Give me a break. I am from the USA and get tired of the daily worshiping of celebs. Why do we have to tolerate the same over the Royal Family. I could care less.

  • Lindsay Lohan as Liz Taylor?

Ten minutes in to the film I wanted to puke. To have a no talent actress (and I use the term actress loosely) portray an icon like Liz Taylor is a slap in the face to Ms. Taylor. She deserved better. Terrible movie.......

  • May I ask a legitimate question about the Bible?

I am a Christian man, but there is something confusing me on the subject of forgiveness. I could have sworn that somewhere in there when talking about about forgiving people, there was also a reference about "not being a doormat for people to walk on". As much as I swear that I saw it, I cannot find it now. Does anyone else know of this and if so, where in the Bible is it? Thanks!

  • Has anyone noticed the number of Hollywood celebrities that have died of cancer?

The percentages are huge! Do you think it is God's way of sending a message to the sinfulness of the world of Hollywood? ( not a serious question. Just fooling around. But a lot of celebs have died of cancer as compared to other things. :) )

  • SC men? Do you remember some really beautiful celebrities from days gone by?

I keep hearing about todays beautiful celeb ladies of today here, but if they could only see some of them from the past. Can you name some other than the obvious like Marilyn Monroe etc?

    Ida Lupino

    Ann Blyth

    Kate Hepburn

    Barbara Stanwyck

Just to name a few. I am 56 years old and always felt I was born 50 years too late. I love the era of my parents.

  • On Two And A Half Men, does anyone know what kind of car Ashton Kutcher's character drives?

It seems to be a very expensive and fast electric car that operates on voice commands to a degree. Is it a real car or fictitious? I have not been able to get any info off the Internet on it. Thanks.

  • Casey Anthony rated one of the top 10 creepiest celebs?

Why would she even rate celeb status. She is an accused child killer. Just because she was acquitted doesn't make her innocent. Just more proof to me that the title celebrity is too easily assigned.

  • Has anyone else had issues with IE9?

I had IE8 for a couple of years and it was fine. Why I decided to download IE9 is beyond me because since then, my computer runs slow and the new browser has been a real pain. Has anyone else had a problem? I tried to dump it and reload IE8, but have not been able to do so. Thanks.

I am trying to burn pictures off of my hard drive on to DVD+R blank discs. I have not had trouble doing this before. But now I keep getting an error message saying that the discs are incompatible. Can anyone help me here? Why would the discs work before and not now? Thanks.

  • Do you Seniors feel that people today are too dependent on technology?

As older people, we know life without the Internet, cell phones, blackberries, Ipods and the like. We would do just fine with out them. But younger people really haven't lived without these things. If there was a worldwide technology breakdown, could they survive it? Thoughts.

  • What do you think of the privatization of the USA prison system?

I think that there would be much less corruption and prisoners wouldn't run the prisons like they do now. Thoughts?

  • I know most of you are young, but what do you think of Tina Turner?

I first had the pleasure of meeting her in the 70's when I worked in the house band of a venue she and Ike Turner performed in for a week. I just watched footage of her 2008 concert where she was 68 years old, she is 71 now. She was amazing and kept up with dancers in their 20's. She deserves a great deal of respect or her music, performing ability and all the physical abuse she bounced back from from her then husband Ike Turner. Just wanted to give her the kudos she deserves. Thanks.

  • Does anyone remember Jackie Gleason?

Posts: 16 I wanted to comment on something here. I know there are Honeymooner's fans here. My favorite Tom Hanks movie is Nothing In Common where he co-starred with Jackie Gleason. He also starred with Sela Ward who is to me, one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood, but I digress.

The movie is hillarious and touching at the same time. What many people may not realize is that it had to be difficult for many of the people making the movie as Jackie Gleason was already dieing of two different cancers and a third disease during filming. It was his last film role and he died less than a year after the movie wrapped. So all those scenes with Gleason's character in the hospital are very special indeed.

Another great actress in the movie is the then 61 year old Eva Marie Saint. She has always been a beautiful woman in her own right. (She is 86 now and still beautiful to me)

So I guess I am being a bit emotional here but Jackie will always be The Great One, and as it even says on his Miami Florida grave marker "And away we go"....

    Thanks for letting me rant.
