  • How is *this* an acceptable response?

"According to the bible, they do not go to heaven. Figure it out."

If you know there is biblical support for something, show it. In this particular situation, even, there is not true biblical support for the idea that the speaker of this quote was talking about.

  • Why should we answer?

Why should Christians answer to questions asked by non-believers when the only motive of the question being asked is obviously to ridicule and mock Christians?

I've seen people not respond to questions and then be called "scared" for lack of knowledge for not having responded, I believe this is crap. Why ask a question if you aren't at all interested in the answer?

How can God be called cruel by those who don't believe in Him (and thus, don't truely know His character), when so many non-believers spend so much of their time ridiculing and persecuting Christians?

  • Suicide automatically = hell?

I've read quite a bit of the Bible, but I seem to remember the only unforgivable sin being blasphemy. Jesus died for all of my sins, not just the ones I have committed, but for every sin I am every going to commit. I can't imagine that telling someone at the end of their rope, wanting to commit suicide, that they are going to go to hell when the trigger is pulled...I just can't seem to imagine that that would help them out in that situation.

Imagine this: I just committed some random sin, and then I die immediately afterwards. I fail to understand how this is different than had I committed suicide in the midst of some bad spot in my life. Of course, this is assuming that "I" am saved (which I am).

  • Christians: Are you a hypocrite?

I remember hearing a story about a class at a theology school. The class was going to give a sermon to the rest of the school, and was on it's way to do so, but they had to cross the entire campus. On the way to the campus, they had to step over some of the faculty pretending to be homeless people, and they never even said a word to them while the "homeless" asked for money. The worst part is, the class was going to give a sermon on the "The Good Samaritan." - Now, before you bash the horrible people in the hypocritical theologian class, you have to compare yourself to this group of people. I know of people who could preach all day about how high-school kids need to stop dating, but could turn around and flirt with a cute girl with a smile. Christians have to realize what a detriment to the Kingdom of God they can be, when they act out as if they never knew God."If you truely loved Him, you would paint Him better." - Leo Tolstoy. This isn't really a question, but I'd like responses!

  • Christians: Is it ok to smoke cigarettes?

I don't really know what to think about the subject. I'll give my own answer in a minute. By the way, I do not smoke, nor do I intend to smoke..I find the smell itself disgusting. In Sunday School, this question was asked, and one little girl perked up, "Yes! The Bible calls our body the temple...(short rant)...and we're supposed to take care of it, while cigarettes damage the body, etc." - I suppose she is right, but confrontation comes to the argument when I think about my grandpa. My grandpa was nearing 80 before he passed away, and smoked cigarettes almost his entire life. I refuse to believe that he sinned every time he smoked a cigarette, because had he dropped his habit, the withdrawals would have killed him at his age. Now, I understand there are substitutes, and I don't really know what the answer is concerning those.

My answer: There's not clear-cut answer. It's one of those things that more about conviction, in my belief. Who am I to judge?

At any rate, what do you think?

  • What do you think of these quotes? (Primarily for Christians)?

    "I do not have a soul. I am a soul, I have a body." - C.S. Lewis (I think)

"If man's greatest desire is the will to live, why aren't men interested in Life Eternal?" (Adaptation from a quote in a book)

"If you truely loved Him, you would paint Him better." - Leo Tolstoy

  • Do I have a chance with Mandy Moore?

I could have sworn that she was talking to me in one of her movies.

(by the way, so everyone knows...I'm kidding.)
