  • Interesting rental legal obligation situation...?

My boyfriend & I signed a lease agreement for an apartment & were approved because my boyfriend had a signed proof-of-income letter from a company he was working for under the table. He had a fall-out with his "employer" & is no longer drawing income from this job & we will potentially be unable to pay our rent. Being that the signed letter from his "employer" was used to get into the apartment in the first place, who is legally responsible for failure to uphold the financial aspect of the lease agreement?

I was thinking it was 1-fluoro-4-iodocyclohexane, but it was counted as incorrect. I'm thinking that maybe it was because I left the 'trans' off?

  • The rules of Baby Mama Etiquette?

I recently started seeing a guy I work with. He had a baby boy 2 months ago with a girl who also works with us. He has no feelings for her, but she recently confronted me and admitted (in tears) that she is still in love with him and that it was wrong of me to get involved with him because they have a child and we work together and she and I are friends. She has been asked on numerous occasions about her feelings for him and she has scoffed him off and denied anything.

She lied to him about birth control use in order to get pregnant by him and then made excuses as to why she had to go through with the pregnancy. Basically, she is obsessed with him and wanted to have his kid so she would always be tied to him. She claims that I have disrespected her and then in turn disrespects me. I have talked with the baby's father about it and he says that he will not listen to me talk negatively about her because she is the father of his child. He wants me to act like there is no situation, but I feel like she will always have it out for me because I've "stolen" her man.

I was told by a friend that I broke baby mama etiquette by being with him because she and i know each other and work together. Is this true? And if so, what should I do? I really care about him.

  • Cost Behavior and Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis?

If the margin of safety for Watkins Company was 25%, fixed costs were $1,200,000, and variable costs were 75% of sales, what was the amount of actual sales (dollars)?

Hint: Determine the break-even in sales dollars first.

I've been over-analyzing this problem (I'm sure) for over an hour now. I don't know how to determine the break-even sales because I don't know the contribution margin ratio, but I can't determine the contribution margin ratio because I don't know the contribution margin, but I don't know the contribution margin because I have no idea what the variable costs or sales are.... any suggestions to get me started?

  • Delay in check deposit?

I paid my attorney fees by check because he doesn't have a debit/credit machine. I paid him on the 13th of August. He has yet to deposit my check. I live from paycheck to paycheck as it is, and while I had the money in my account at the time I wrote the check, I don't now. If he were to deposit or cash it today, would I be assessed an overdraft fee, even though the bank can clearly see the dating of the check and my available funds at that time?

  • Speeding ticket -- 64 in a 35?

I live in NC. I'd rather not use my prayer for judgment because it's unpredictable the tickets I could potentially get in my 3 year probation period.

Do you think I could get a judge to give me 2 or 3 non-moving violations and just pay the fines so I don't get insurance points?

    I have:

*one wreck (I rear-ended a guy... within two months of getting my license. I didn't get a ticket.) and

*one '9 over speeding ticket' (It was actually a failure to yield ticket that got plead down.) and

    *a warning for expired registration

    on my record.

I'm willing to do community service and/or attend a driving school.

I don't expect this to get dropped, but I'll take anything that doesn't give me insurance points... I'll even take DMV points.

  • ...Finding the IRR on an hp 10BII calculator?

I am trying to figure out how to use my financial calculator to find the IRR for a particular project... I found an example so I could see if I got the correct answer using the calculator but my number was way off. I've read through the user's guide and I can't seem to figure out what I'm doing wrong...

My initial cash flow is ($3,000) with a payout over the next 4 years of: $1,500, $1,200, $800, & $300 respectively.

I did the following to get my answer:

    1. I pressed the orange shift and clear key to clear all prior entries.

    2. I pressed 4, then orange shift P/YR.

    3. I entered 3,000, hit the +/- key, followed by the CF key.

    4. I entered 1,500 followed by the CF key, 1,200 followed by the CF key, 800 followed by the CF key, and lastly 300 followed by the CF key.

    5. I then pressed the orange shift followed by IRR/YR.

My answer came out to 52.6%. The answer should have been 13.1%.

Can anyone figure out what I'm doing wrong?

  • Is an exemption considered a deduction off your AGI?

I have a question for my individual income taxation class that seems all too easy....

Eugene and Velma are married. For 2008, Eugene earned $25,000 and Velma earned $30,000. They have decided to file separate returns and are each entitled to claim one personal exemption. They have no deductions for adjusted gross income. Eugene's itemized deductions are $9,400 and Velma's are $1,700. Assuming Eugene and Velma do not live in a community property state, what is Velma's taxable income?

  • Error Propaganda and Differentials?

    The question reads as follows:

One side of a right triangle is known to be 25 cm exactly. The angle opposite to this side is measured to be 60 degrees, with a possible error of +/-0.5 degrees.

    (a) Use differentials to estimate the errors in the adjacent side and the hypotenuse.

    (b) Estimate the percentage errors in the adjacent side and hypotenuse.

So far all I've been able to do is figure out the length of the hypotenuse and adjacent side (i'm not even sure if I needed to...) but those numbers are approx. 28.9 degrees for the hypotenuse and approx. 14.4 degrees for the adjacent side.

I'm not just asking for the answer, just wondering the steps I need to use so that I can find the answer on my own. Thanks.

  • By chance does anyone know...?

I just heard a song tonight that I'd really like to download but I have no idea what it's called and I don't know any of the lyrics. I do however know that it has the music to 'Let's Get It On' by Marvin Gaye, but the singer/lyrics are reggae. Thanks :-)
