I don't like my religion (catholic).

I don't want to be racist but I find that all countries on the African content are 3rd world countries or just very poor. I am not being ignorant or anything because literally all the countries in Africa are 3rd world or just below a normal line of countries like Argentina for example. I don't really know any of the factors that contributed to Africa as it is today, so please give me some answers. Here is a good list of countries that are very poor in Africa,

I was born Catholic, was baptized and went to first communion but I find it strange that Catholics worship Jesus if he was a Jew??I believe in God and I'm starting to think about converting to Islam or some other religion that makes more sense. In Islam muslims worship Allah and Mohammed, which Mohammed is a muslim. It makes more sense than being Christian which is totally different by Judiasm and worshipping a Jewish man. I know Jesus was the founder of Christianity but he was Jewish for his whole life?? Please give me an answer that will help me figure this out, so yeah.,
