Our wedding is far from traditional and i have had trouble finding a colour scheme.my dress is gold and ivory and do not want that.i love bright and bold colours.so i have just ordered all my table wear, and gone for multi coloured forks, napkins and plates.can ppl please give me their honest opinions on my choice.and also we have ten lots of 3 balloons,1 of each is ivory and i can pick another 20 to add to of each with that.so with my wacky theme would you suggest having the balloons all the same or mixed? Hi i want to get my partner something unusual for his birthday! Theres nothing in particular he wants apart from a couple of limited edition zippo lighters which i have managed to get hold of!

Basically he loves fruit machines and everytime we go the pub hes on them, tends to come off better every time.

  • Diy wedding cake advise?

My partner and i are getting married on a budget and want a SPONGE cake.the prices we have been quoted are disgusting

Basically i have come to the conclusion of trying my hand at making my own.we have 16wks so i could get a few trial runs in between.has anyone ever made their own,i know the ingredients would cost next to nothing thats why i refuse to pay £200 for a sponge cake.could anybody suggest any sites with simple step by step instructions.

I do know sponge cakes are hard to tier with them not having the weight to hold one another so if anyone can suggest an alternative.i would like something nice

  • Wedding dress alterations?

My partner and i are getting married on a budget.therefore i have chose to buy a brand new dress off ebay.i am a size 16,and the same dress in that size or lower seems to sell for well outside my budget.however i have came across the same dress in a size 22 which as of now is really low in price compared to the smaller sizes. Basically i would like to ask if anybody does alterations,or had alterations done to their dress?

Basically the dress will need taking in a few sizes, then i would like the zip up back to be changed into a lace up back, also the dress will need taking up an inch or 2.

I am just asking if all this would be possible,it has quite a Large train.and if at all it is possible, how much should i expect to pay.im asking this b4 i consider buying as its if its going to cost a fortune for alterations i may as well spend the extra money on a dress to fit although i adore this dress.

    Thanks x

  • Confused about wedding long story?

    Right,here goes.

My partner and i booked our wedding in march for next march.we split up for 3days in june and said forget the wedding! 2 wks ago he was talking about getting married, and i said we should have been getting married in 5 months,he said we still can.i rang up the wedding place today, just to see if they kept our booking as we still had some balance outstanding.i suggested to my partner offering the evening for my grandfathers 80th birthday which willbe 2 daysafter wewere due to get married.as we cant get refunded so may aswell give the night time away.my partner said this was a good idea.my gran has saidthey dont want a big party so its no good to them, and i havent had a response from my partner.im just a little confused as 2wks ago he was all up for getting married again, not saying it directly, just with him saying,we still can in 5months as its not cancelled.not really sure what he wants but dont want to ask as he may feel pressured into saying yes we wil do it if i ask.
