  • Do you hate malt flavor?

    I can't eat Maltesers candy, or Ovaltine chocolate-malt drink mix, they make me want to barf (really!). But I can eat Malted Milk chocolate bars. Anyone else hate malt?

  • What can make swallowing feel slow and maybe give mild hearing loss?

    For months now, whenever I eat or drink anything it feels like it's going down slowly. I can also feel it as it goes down, especially cold liquids.

    I've already been to my doctor about mild hearing loss. She said there was congestion causing my eardrum to be under pressure, and gave me anti-allergy nose spray, which hasn't helped.

    I'm not sure if the swallowing and congestion are related. I haven't told my doctor about the swallowing thing because I didn't think it could be a "condition" until I looked it up online just now. I don't have any other symptoms. I am on thyroxin for hypothyroidism, but the last blood test showed my thyroid levels were all fine. Hypothyroidism runs in my family.

    Any ideas? Thanks!
