Surely criminals need to be in jail..but why do we have the most in the world?..what are we gaining from this besides protection from criminals?

I feel like a good amount of Americans are very ignorant to the world around them. Seems as though we have a " We are better than you mentality" is it simply because we are too caught up in materialistic things and refuse to discover what our country does to the world? I'm really concerned about a tree out front of my house. It is pretty big and has a lot of leaves on it. It seems pretty sturdy tho. I remember last year when we had a tropical storm it was waving pretty good in about 30-40 mile per hour winds. So tomorrow when Sandy hits we are suppose to have up to 60 miles per hour winds. Should I be concerned about this tree falling?

I'm 16 and for the past 2 months i've been looking for a part time job. Last night before bed I stepped on a very sharp piece of wood. It was one of the worst pains i've ever had in my life. I fell to the ground and tried to pull it out but it was actually stuck in my foot. My mom had to get it out for me. I put spray and stuff on it and keep putting band aids on it. From what I see, it's swelling up. I had to miss school today because i can't even walk on that foot. Did it damage anything bad?

I've smoked probably around 80 times in my life. The past few times, I have been getting extremely high off of like 2-4 hits. I use to just think about really deep things that would kind of scare me. I couldn't think about anything else and it felt like much more of an upper than a downer. Wasn't laced cause my friends had the chill relaxed high. My mind would feel so clogged the next day and I would just be so tired. Last night, I decided to smoke again. I took 1 hit and started having an awful high. I had even worse thoughts and the high felt like it was 20 hours long but it was only 3. I was shaking, having trouble breathing, and it felt like my heart was pumping crazy. I started getting a headache as well. Then I started hearing an angry like voice screaming at me. Sometimes I saw stuff flashing. It was so scary. Once again it wasn't laced because my friend was chill. I am done smoking weed and will never do it again, but I want to know why I had that happen..
