  • Do you think that ADD is the result of bad diet?

I am student teaching in a kindergarten class and have a 10 month old daughter as well. However, I've noticed an increase in the number of kids being reported with ADD and doing a research paper.. But here is the thing - it seems 20 years ago ADD was not as prevelant or just not diagnosed - but do you think perhaps the increase is related to diet. For example one of my students is always a bit hyper - and I saw the mother put a red bull and a soda in his lunch (kindergarten ok!!) and I got to wondering - do people just feed their kids crap and are they just on constant sugar highs????? Since the availability of soda, fast food, and processed foods is more prevalent in todays society.. compared to 20 years ago - is there a relationships? Just a questions.. your thoughts? I mean.. look at all the "kids" snacks.. chocolate pudding, "fruit" rollups, lucky charms (marshmellows in cereal?)....hmm maybe kids are just not eating healthy???

  • Competitive Moms.. How do you deal with them!?!?!?!?!?

Ok - I will admit that I hate the competitive mom- there is a difference of being proud of your children and wanting the best but I was seriously appalled when at moms group this mother had the nerve to tell me my child would not learn by being in public school, and that I should have gotten on the waiting list for a private pre-K thats like 10K a year!! First of all, my philosophy is that no matter where my daughter goes to school - her education will be fostered and nurtered by me - I wil be involved and make sure she gets supplemeneted if the school is not doing the best... but second... my daughter is 10 months old and there is a 2 year waiting list - so I guess when I was 1 month pregnant I should have added her? LOL... I've tried to let this woman know that I think it's great that she wants her child to be "ahead" of the game - but I think parent involvment is key no matter what evnviornment.. how do you deal with competitve moms like this!

  • Is there a company that will help us dispute cell phone charges that were charged in error?

We originally had nextel service- we went in to add a line of service and they created another account in which they were charging us another monthly fee. Since we had biling issues - my fiance would get his service disconnected, he'd call and pay the balance, then the next week my service would disconnect, and i'd call and pay - not realizing we were charging $179.99 *2 phone lines. We have been disputing this with Sprint since Jan!! We finally pulled our numbers to T-mobile - which we love btw - and now sprint is telling us the moment we left the service they cancelled the disputes. What irratates us is that clearly on the bill it states a "Shared Family Plan" then only had 1 phone number - it was clearly an issue on their end - and the contract we have states it was a add on to an existing line - no where did we open another account.

HELP!!!!! Does anyone know of a company / lawyer that can help us file the dispute - I've kept an extremely accurate log of dates, times, etc -

  • people keep telling me that my daughter should be a model or in commericials (shes 4 months) -how do i do it??

sounds cheesy but people keep asking me - and I think it might be worth a shot since shes got such a good disposition - any places that anyone knows of that are legitimate - no scams?? I'm cautious since obviously shes a baby and a girl - no way i'm leaving her alone with anyone - but I know there are some legit places out there.

    Thanks!
