So 1500 watts RMS and 4000 watts Max @ 1ohm

I can get an amp that's 1200rms but only 2000 watts Max @ 1 ohm

I know im underpowering the sub but I'm fine with it. But the Max wattage is anywhere near the 4000. Does the Max rating do much. What does it actually mean

I understand its what the sub can take or the amp can deliver at a instance and RMS is continuous power. But does have low Max watts mean I don't have as punchy bass or having as loud volume as I could have.

I think you see my issue. I'm just a bit confused around the Max figures

I have an edge 750 watt amp and a edge sub in eds510 or something like that, its one the enclosure

The amp lights on but i have like a very low volume thud. its like very tinny. and its not really bass at all.

there is no protection light.

i have open the amp to find no over heated part, no burnt out sections, nothing that looks like its toasted,

i read the output AC voltage its always around 0.1v and 0.9v with a multimeter

so i tired the sub with another amp and the voltage goes all the way to around 9v-10v at the beat(which is actually driving the sub properly)

have i burnt a mosfet if so how an i tell non are burnt or anything

im not sure what i an do to fix it, does anyone know (i know edge is crap so dont give stupid answers)

So i just made a box. all good and sealed it up. but now i am just going to the porting bit

on the sub manual (Sony Xplod XS-NW12002) it says port on the side with 76mm port and length 170mm. also it deosnt say where on the side panel i should put it i just shows it in the top corner?

the box is 960mm. and my boot is 1 meter so i feel the port will be wasted as air flow will be restricted heavily.

so i thinking can i put the port on the top side of the subwoofer or the front and would the port dimension be the same if i were to do this?

also the box is for twin subs, so i will need 2 ports?

basically the whole point of this question is because the head unit i have (a sony) is cutting out in my car. so i tried another head unit (pioneer) which worked fine. so im wondering if the power has anything to do with it. my speakers arnt upgrades they are OEM. so this is very very confusing. its also not ground or bad power connections they are all fine. so it only had to be the speakers or what driving the speakers

I have 2 SPLX speakers woofer cones (not big subs, the magnets pretty small, kind of magnet that on a 6x9 maybe a tad smaller.)

Anyway the SPLX don't have ANY writing on it whatsoever, all it says in SPLX on the cone itself

how do i know the watts and the impedance, as i want to wire it in either series or parallel to my amp. therefore need the Impedance to calculate whether its possible

So i ordered a wiring kit for my amp. The kits was all good until the. Ground cable. Its about 35cm (wtf) what and where exactly am i suppose to find a ground point within 30 cm ??

So main question is Where can i i get a longer ground cable from. Possibly maplins?

My mates car head units cuts out at about volume 20 (Sony) checked ground and speakers (sort off checked) but found nothing wrong. So i took my head unit put it into this car and it worked fine. So then i took his one that kept cutting our and put it into mine and then it was working fine. So as u can see in confused because the on that's cutting out in his car should cut on in mine as well but it doesn't and mine works fine in his.

Anyone suggested anything

Im wondering what transistor i need so that this LED strip will flash to the Bass in my car.

everyone says TIP31 but i want to know why. and will it flash to the bass.

im currently using a different transistor and it flashes to the whole song not bass.

Everytime is teun the volume to 19/20 the head unit will cut of.

I've disconnected all of the speakers and left the sub out rca's in and the head unit will work fine. Volume will go all the way to 52 (way to loud for me) with the sub/Bass still working nicely. However I put the speaker thermal block back in from the back it will will resume to cut off after volume is at 20.

Now I have also disconnected only 2 of the speakers (back door ones) now the volume will cut of at about 27 instead of 20 which is better. So I think there's a speaker short or something I've check voltage coming ouf do the speaker out from head unit and it goes up with volume. whcih i have no idea off

The issue is not ground as I have check it by connected the ground to various point on the car.

Only thing I can think of is speaker shortage but how can I check it

I have a sub with built in amp. I have proper wiring going from battery to amp. All good. Now I want to add another amp (pioneer 400watt peak amp) so can I just use normal quite thick wire to do this. Or do I need to buy some more wiring for it (the wire is thicker than normal if needed I can't double it up?)

Is this possible or is it unsafe?

I cant find the Aux section in the head unit. its like it doesn't exist. The ip bus cable is plugged in but no way to select it.

Manual says usef function to select aux and turn it to ON. i tried and can find it.

i created a website for college. and for my navigation bar i ahve a similar 1 to apple. so daytime i click view in Internet Explorer, the buttons and everything work BUT when i hover over the link and little pop up hint come up just under the mouse button on the left. its says "iMac" "iPhone" "i...." . even though i have renamed my button as home, contact us etc as you normally would have
