  • Connecting with your adopted child?

When adopting a newborn, is it difficult to connect or feel attached to your child? When you have a biological child you carry that baby with you for nine months and give birth. Things you don't get to experience with an adoption. Does a woman need to carry a pregnancy and give birth in order to feel like her child is truly her own?

  • What can I get my friend for one year anniversary of placing her baby for adoption?

A very close friend of mine placed her daughter for adoption around this time last year. It was an open adoption, and to this day she is very happy about the choice she made. I know she wont be with her daughter to celebrate her 1st birthday, so I'm trying to think of something that I can do for her to help celebrate.

I was thinking about doing doing something with balloons, maybe letting them go up into the sky? But that seems almost morbid because that's something people do for their lost loved one's, and I don't want to make this a sad day.

    Any ideas?

  • Piercing on the 13th and having issues!?

I got my ears pierced on July 13th and have had no problems with them except...

    1. I have this white to clear discharge behind my ear and around the backing of my earing. Wondering if this is normal or not. My ears are not red, sore or swollen. The only time they hurt is when I accidently pull a shirt over my head and they get pulled on.

    and

    2. About 2-3 weeks after getting them pierced I noticed a lump right under my ear lobe, in the exact same area that my jaw meets. I don't have the same lump on the other side of my neck. Could this be a swollen gland? It's a hard mass, about the as round as a dime, maybe penny.

  • "Verizon network down" on my ALLTEL phone?!?

For a year now I've been dealing with this problem. At LEAST once a week when I try to make a phone call I get a recording telling me the "verizon network is down" and that my call cannot be completed. That would be great...if I had VERIZON!

I have alltell. I've called my house on my cellphone back-to-back 10 tens an I get the message everytime. I call my mothers cellphone who is on alltell as well...and I get the message over and over. The only way to get in contact with someone is I have to text them, telling them to call me.

God forbid I ever have to call 911, I'll have no way of doing it!

Alltel has told me to dail *228 to "upgrade" my phone and reboot it. I've done it more then once, and STILL having problems!

    Anyone else dealing with this?!

  • Sulcus Depth? 3mm!?

I went to the dentist a two weeks ago, when the hygenist checked my sulcus I was SHOCKED that I had 3mm which seem to be around my 1st and 2nd Mandibular Molars. I'm currently in school for Dental Assisting and I'm a little bummed out, we've been told that anything OVER 3 isn't good.

My question is, I'm twenty years old, only had a cavitie once in my entire life and that was when I was 5/6. Never really had any problems with plaque build up or calculas. Is it normal for someone so young to have 3mm? Should I really be worried? The hygniest used an ultra sonic scaler BEFORE checking my sulcus and she wasn't easy on me, she really hurt my gums. Maybe my gums were just swollen some??

  • Low thyriod?

I'm on synthroid because I have hypothyroidism. There have been a few times were I have missed taking my pill. Most of the time I only miss it once. But I have missed it two days in a row. When I miss my pill I don't have any side effects, I'm not tired, I don't feel "sick", nothing. How many dosages would I have to miss in order to feel any effects? Could the current level I'm on not be strong enough, and this is the reason why missing a pill or two doesn't effect me?
