  • Mid-life crisis for men. Does it end?

I get that a man may suddenly realize that what he's doing is not realistic, but does his desire for his mid-life escapes ever disappear?

  • What if... Jesus had gone unnoticed or even never existed?

How do you envision life in these times if Christianity had never made inroads? Do you think another religion would have become predominant? If so, which one and why?

  • Accent Walls - please read.?

When you paint one wall in an accent color, do they need to be from the same general palette of colors? I am thinking of painting the walls of the living room in a soft cream color and want to do an accent wall in a medium green (prettier than it sounds). Would this look funny? Do the other walls need to be in the green family like a tint? Thanks in advance for advice.

  • Mercenaries 2: PS3 or XBox?

My son heard that M2 was only a one-player game on PS3, but a two-player on XBox. Is this true? Are there any significant differences between the two versions? Advice appreciated, thanks.

  • Do you know anyone who won't sleep in a room with a mirror?

I recently heard someone say that it bothers them a great deal to sleep in a room with a mirror. I'd never heard such a superstition before and wondered how it originated.

  • Blobs on Cape Cod beach, first thought a rock....?

While walking on a Cape Cod beach recently (April or May), my kids spotted these oval shaped masses which at first glance looked like a rock - grayish and mottled. Most of them were about 7 or 8" long and 3 to 4" wide and maybe an inch thick. When we touched them, we found them to be spongy and when we looked under one, it appeared to be decomposing?? underneath (not sure if that's what was going on). It was during the reports of large pods of right whales in the bay, but we don't know if there's a connection. Any ideas? We're just really curious. Thanks in advance.

  • Hot tub -- ours appears to be grouted or cemented to floor?

We wanted to move it from an indoor hot tub room to the outside and found what appears to be grout or cement holding it to the floor. Is this normal and, if so, why? Any suggestions for removal? Should we just hire someone? Thanks for answers.

  • Jacob's Club Orange?

My husband recently traveled to London. I asked him to bring back some Club Oranges for me and he was told by a vendor that they no longer were available. Is this true? They're yummy. Thanks in advance for answers.

  • Damn, damn, damn. I wish I'd done more traveling when I was young, unencumbered and could....?

The places I wish I'd seen, the things I wish I'd done, the people I wish I'd met. I have a good life and have done a fair bit of traveling, but not as much as I wish. So it goes, I guess. We make our choices -- I love my family and my life, but.... what are the "might have beens"? I know I'll never know. How are we able to make these choices with such a short time with which to work?

  • Phil Hansen....?

How many of you have seen the Yahoo piece on Phil Hansen? So often, when I see a new artist represented, I wonder what, if anything, will make them stand out.... and still stand out in 1 or 2 hundred years? This guy's work is incredible. End of story.

  • I'm a capitalist, but if almost EVERYONE...?

gave a little of their (esp.) time and money, couldn't we fix or alleviate many of the problems our society/our world faces? It's the spirit of community and charity that I'm exploring. I know I'm not the first to think of this, but why is it so hard to put into action?

  • Woodpecker -- injured juvenile downy woodpecker?

We have an injured juvenile downy woodpecker and have made several calls to local avian vets, rehab facilities and wildlife sanctuaries. Thus far, no response. While I still hope to hear back from someone knowledgeable who can take him, what do we do if they don't? He has an injured wing, but otherwise is in good spirits. If he survives his injury, but can not fly, what are the odds that we can raise him in captivity? We have managed to feed him a couple of mealworms, but after that....? Has anyone else done this or had experience with this kind of bird? Thank you in advance.

  • Paris Hilton. Is anyone else appalled?

Poor thing went from a private cell in a special unit reserved for celebs, politicians and police officers -- max. occupancy 24.

Now, for "health reasons" she is on home-monitoring where, presumably, she can chat with friends on the phone (I don't know if she can actually receive guests -- I guess that depends on how much who paid who), listen to music at will, TV, have her staff cook what she likes, etc. Sounds like luxury toddler time-out.

I was willing to give her some benefit of the doubt, and a couple of kudos, for showing up, willing to do her time. Not now, Paris.

  • Laziness? Under what circumstances are you the most lazy?

If I'm working alone, on my own stuff (not as an employee), I can get a little more lazy, figuring I'll pick up the slack tomorrow. Also, if I'm one of many, working in a large group, I'll work hard but won't push myself to an extreme.

The alternate is that when I'm working with only one or two others, I feel so compelled to pull my weight that I will overdo it.

Why does it seem okay to take it easy in one kind of situation, but not another?

Just a shot in the dark. Steve, if you get this message.... did you have a happily ever after?

To prove you're the right Steve H., tell me what city and state you grew up in.

    Just curious. Indulge me.
