  • TV reception in Warwickshire.?

This is for the U.K. A couple of weeks ago I found that I receive BBC 2 although the other channels were available. As the set is old I assumed that the TV was faulty. Then, while watching a program last Tuesday, a notice popped up. I can't remember the beginning apart from about midnight and that Freeview box would have to be re-tuned the next day. As I haven't got Freeview I wasn't concerned. However the next day I couldn't receive BBC1, BBC2. ITV or Channel 4. However I can obtain a fine picture on Channel 5! We're not due to go digital until September. What's wrong?

  • Are my cheques invalid?

I've just discovered two misplaced dividend cheques dated 15 may 2009. I believe cheques have a shelf life. Are these cheques out of date and if so is there anything I can do about it?

  • Who do our M.P.'s think they are?

It's been suggested that on top of their substantial salary, there should also be a daily allowance just for showing up. I've worked for 50 years of my life and never, on wages or salary, did I receive an additional amount for turning up for work. On top of this they have very generous holidays. I'm sick of these greedy, self-serving lot of buffoons. They appear to be too stupid to even understand the public feeling towards them.

  • Why are people with coeliac condition ripped off?

All specifically gluten foods seem to be over priced. As anyone living on their own is aware, it can be a bore preparing meals for one at the best of times. The result is that I tend to go for the ready prepared gluten free meals. However, they are so very expensive.I am capable of cooking ordinary gluten free meals. Tomorrow, I've got a piece of frozen turkey breast which I will have with creamed potatoes and peas and corn. This is a meal anyone can enjoy, coeliac or not. However I don't always want to go to a lot of troeble just for myself. As a result I go to the gluten free section of the supermarket and purchase ready meals. They cost much more than similar items with gluten. I think the supermarkets are taking advantage of people like myself who have no choice. Moronic trendies haven't helped by going wheat free or gluten free. This puts the price up. One shouldn't go wheat or gluten free unless it's for medical purposes.

  • Will Health and Safety be next?

Now that front line troops are being considered under the Human Rights Act,will the Health and Safety Executive be next to get on the bandwagon? As a veteran of the Korean War, I find the situation ludicrous. The one thing that shouldn't occur is for desk-bound civil servants to decide whether the troops sre adequately armed and protected.

  • Why didn't they let HBOS go into administration and start all over again from the wreckage?

I accumulated a number of Lloyds TSB shares over a period to have something for my retirement. Lloyds did make a profit in 2008 but HBOS pulled it down with it's huge loss. I suspect it was Scottish votes that made the difference. The government couldn't afford to let it go to the wall, it would cost them too many votes. Especially with the SNP running circles around themm. However my little nest egg is now almost worthless while those odious people at the top go away smelling of roses. I wouldn't think this useless, self-serving load of slime bags in government care one iota for the little people. Just watch all that money they're printing go pouring into marginal Labour constituencies come the next election..

  • Are there any reasonably priced places to stay while on holiday in Iceland?

The cheapest I could find on line was about 115 euros per night. Considering the country is broke, I would have thought that businesses would have reduced their prices to encourage tourists. I'd be happy with a small B&B.

  • Should Goodwin keep his £650,000 per year pension?

This man, due to his arrogance, greed and stupidity broke the Royal Bank of Scotland. For that, he's being rewarded with a pension of £650,000 p.a. He's still only 50 years of age. How many people who put their money into the RBS and seen their investment dwindle can afford to retire at 50 with a heafty pension? I instead, this buffoon should be facing a charge of malfeasance. I'm not suggesting that he's responsible for all of the mess, but he was at the helm. The buck has to stop somewhere.

  • Why can't the government support the van maker DVL?

Having poured millions of mainly English tax payers money into Scottish banks they say they cannot support DVL which employs 900 jobs in Birningham. Gordon Brown coerced Daniels of LloydeTSB into taking over HBOS. The Chancelor said it was to support the UK banking system. It was patently obvious at the time that it was to prop up the Scottish Banks. Why doesn't this useless, corrupt, sleazy government just get out now? Of course they won't as long as there's more and ever greater expenses to claim.
