Papa points out a fig tree next to large oak and walnut trees. He tells Cassie that the Logan family is like the fig tree:

"Just keeps growing and doing what it gotta do. It don’t give up. It give up, it’ll die. There’s a lesson to be learned from that little tree, Cassie girl, ’cause we’re like it. We keep doing what we gotta, and we don’t give up. We can’t."

Now consider Papa’s words. In what ways is the family like the fig tree? What might the larger oak and walnut trees represent? What do the trees symbolize?

ive been hung up on this poem im writting for a dear friend who loves dark poetry. i have serched the web profoundley in search of some rhyming gothic peices but so far no luck. my intentions are not to copywrite, but to grasp this dark concept that im in desprate need of .

why try so hard to suceed in life if it's all forgotten when you die?

only importent people are rememberd in history books and what not, but people like you and me will die and our name will be barried with us. so i don't understand why so much is expected from us and why we try so hard.

why are pwople so uncomfterable watching others be in love, but when they are expressing haterid, people are less botherd.?

o.k so say you had a massive tumor on your brain and had to have an opperation right away. but befor they slipped you unconsious they told you this: we can do this two ways, if we go in one way it will leave you blind, if we go in the other way, it will leave you deaf. and now you have a decission, what would you choose? how could you choose?
