  • Issues with Hair Stylist...Sever ties or not?!

I've been seeing this stylist for over a year, and for the most part, I have been content with the results. However, whenever I make evening appointments with her, I don't leave the salon until 10pm or later (when my appointment is for 5:30-6pm).

It doesn't help that I am friends with her sister and son, and have developed a rapport. I LOVE her work and have gotten lots of compliments on how great my hair looks. But I am not happy with the fact I often leave late. It is not like I live nearby. I picked that salon from a publication's website that recommended that place.

I've tried coming on different days and times to see if that would help, but it hasn't.

She is the owner of the salon, and she tends to be the one who styles my hair. She does the best job styling wise, from what I have seen. Other people I would have trusted no longer work there.

I recommended her to one of my best friends, and she has decided to stop seeing her because of the frequent tardiness. The stylist/owner accepts walk-ins and it has happened more than once where walk-ins were seen before people who had appointments and were waiting.

There has been one incident where the price was more expensive than usual for the same job that I tended to have. I will admit I paid for it, because I trusted her with my hair. There is no price list posted, but I tend to get the same job done.

I am conflicted on whether or not to find someone else who is more time-efficient, or whether or not to bring my concerns to her attention. I would hate to stop going to her, but feel like my time as a customer of hers is not valuable if I have to wait over 2-3 hours to be seen.

  • Weird hive/blister?

This is strange. This morning, my right arm started to itch. Within a few minutes, a hive formed where the itch was. Then my elbow on the same arm started to itch and within a few minutes (after scratching).. a hive formed there too.

My arm was not itching this morning. I haven't washed with anything unusual, and it's only affecting my right arm. Whenever clothing touches it, it is painful.

Now the hives are turning into blisters, which are quite painful.

I've tried putting Benadryl creme on it, which works. But within a few hours, the pain and itching return.

Has anyone ever had this happen? A hive to a blister after a few hours?

Is there anything that I can do other than what I am doing? This itching and pain are driving me nuts!!!

  • Dell Notebook not playing DVD-R's?

    I have an Inspiron B130 laptop with a CD-RW/DVD drive; I can play/burn CD's--but only play DVD's on that drive.I also have a Samsung DVD-R130 Player Burner.

I burned some TV shows from old videotapes onto DVD-R's. The type of DVD-R's I used were blank Sony DVD's)

The recorded DVD's play fine in the DVD player (the player/recorder). But when I put them into my notebook, they do not play. They do not show up as a source in My Computer.

I'm stumped. I tried to contact Dell and run Diagnostics. The diagnostics failed, and a new drive is being sent to me for my notebook.

The question is this....aren't CD-RW/DVD drives supposed to play MOST dvd's--even homemade ones?

Regular DVD's play fine, and music cd's also play fine. But DVD-R's will not. I'm worried the same thing may happen with the new drive. And I've never noticed this before, since I usually use music CD's, software, or regular DVD's in my laptop.

    Help please....Thanks!

  • Is there a way to restore an old leather jacket?

It'a a black leather jacket and I've had this coat for over 7 years. But now it is starting to turn a slight greenish hue, especially in the sleeves, and by the zipper.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. It's aged, and comfortable, but I am wondering if it can be restored or dyed.

  • Need 2 lose 30-40 lbs...suggestions on types of exercise?

I need to lose about 30-40 lbs, and need some advice on types of exercise to help with this.

However, I should mention that I have bad knees. The right one was operated on about 3 years ago for torn cartilage (still hurts now and then), and the left one is starting to act up. I know the excess weight I am carrying is part of the reason why.

I do walk as much as I can, but the weight is still creeping on me. Any suggestions are appreciated.
