What evidence do we have for the primordial oceans being salty?
I have lived in Hawaii and the Philippine Islands, where ocean water is everywhere alive with animals, just overturn a rock and find many living things.
In most bodies of freshwater you will find scant evidence of life, compared with the abundance of life in the oceans.
But sometime after the creation of the earth, the ocean water must have started out as fresh, and gradually turned salty, then saltier, in a constant process until today.
Is there any scientific evidence that the beginning of the earliest forms of life, had to wait for the ocean to become salty enough for life to begin?
I find it doubtful that Life began in fresh water, yet if water becomes too salty little to no life is possible.
1 AnswerEarth Sciences & Geology8 years agoBible, first Reference to the Holy Spirit?
Can anyone give the first mention of anything concerning the Holy Spirit in the Bible, especially the Catholic Bible.
I know the Holy Spirit is there at Jesus' Baptism of water by John the Baptist, but is there an earlier mention?

5 AnswersGovernment9 years agoThe unanswerable question is: How many people would have been killed if there was NO religion?
Islam has killed more people in this decade, per year, than the ENTIRE 350 year history of the Inquisition.
Moslems are CURRENTLY responsible for the deaths of more Moslems, each year, than all the rest of the deaths of Moslems that are killed by all other peoples.
Could it be that is is the MIS-USE of religion that is at fault?
Christians are horrible people when they act CONTRARY to Jesus's example.
Moslems are horrible people when they FOLLOW Muhammad's example.
Pinky are you thinking what I'm thinking?

UK cameras to capture, log every license plate
The UK plans to install a nationwide network of cameras "within months" that will automatically capture and log the license plate of every car that drives by. Police across England, Wales and Scotland will be able to use the data about which cars are where to hunt down suspects for all kinds of crimes. The UK already has more cameras per capita than any other nation. What's next?
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhat consumer products are made here anymore?
You remove a plate (made in China) from your dishwasher (made in Korea) to make breakfast on your stove (made in Canada). You remove eggs from your refrigerator (made in Mexico) to make breakfast in your skillet (made in France). You pour yourself a cup of coffee (from Colombia) from your coffee maker (made in Portugal), and settle down to read a newspaper (made from Canadian softwood pulp).
Except for the coffee, they all should have been made in the USA !
It seems that only food products and other short term consumables are still made here.
Even the USA auto makers are on their last legs.
