Self-employed with my hubby in the music field. We have kids, a dog, a cat, chickens and several invertebrates. Our house is large with a small yard. We like to travel. We have our foster-care license, and are planning to adopt from waiting children in a nearby area.
Girl looking for a home... any homes out there?
So I was at this foster care meet and greet with waiting children, and the adorable young lady approached me with all the confidence in the world asking me if I would adopt her. She gave a very convincing sales pitch where she explained a little bit about herself, she has ADHD and is older than her grade level would indicate... She seems to be rather bright, though, and she's a real hoot to speak with. She's such a good salesperson, it made my husband and I a bit disappointed that our license only goes up to 10-year-olds.
I know there are many people associated with foster care on here and I was wondering if anyone would know of some way to find a good match for her. She seems so desperate to have a family of her own... all she asks is that she would be able to get herself a dog when she has her new home. She wants a husky. Does anyone have any ideas how to find a match for her?

...about the adopted children at this person's home? ( http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=As0eS... )
I made my answer, and I got an email from the OP about working at a daycare, then they blocked me from viewing the post.
If they had emailed me and then ignored me, I'd have thought it was just a troll and moved on... but blocking me after emailing a short and curious explanation seems like hiding something more than just simple trolling. Or would you think this is a particularly sensitive troll with a pee fetish, and not an adoptive parent of more than one child who has been peeing on him (the OP)?
5 AnswersAdoption10 years agoChanging a child's name?
I'm just curious about this, so it's not a question that I need advice on or anything.
What if you had a few older children, and you did foster care for younger ones... you end up with a child who will not be placed back into their home, and you decide to adopt... Problem is, your 15 year old son and the 5 year old kid have the same name. Say for example, Johnathan David XXXXXXX. (with the last names being different).
How do you handle it?
5 AnswersAdoption1 decade agoWhy is it that so many male foster kids want to be a policeman when they grow up?
I've been searching profiles, and so far, after months of reading profiles and watching video interviews, I have only seen one child say they wanted to work on cars when they grow up. (and he was in his late teens) Everyone else either didn't specify, or they insisted they were going to become a policeman... not a fireman, not a race car driver, not even "rich"... just policemen.
I'm just curious as to why it's so common.

What age were your kids when you started to let them stay home by themselves (no babysitter) for a few hours while you went to the store, or took a class, or went to a movie with your spouse?
