  • My Ex has a date to prom and I don't...?

Hello everyone, I am a senior in high school and I have resorted to here to try and get reassurance and possibly experiences of others about going to prom alone.

To save you all the epic sob story, I will just give you the gist; I went through a nasty break up over summer with a guy I was dating for almost two years. Since then, our relationship has been very weird and he also decided to start dating someone else.

Now, prom is around the corner and I have a dress and everything, except no date. I am going on a bus with all of my closest friends and I wouldn't mind going alone if it weren't for my ex going with his new girlfriend. I really want a date, but I know I want one just to make him jealous and me, a little less pathetic.

So can anyone please tell me its not a big deal? Or that I won't even care about my prom or this whole situation in a couple years? Maybe some of you have been in this situation? It would mean a lot. Thank you!

  • My red eared slider hatchling hasn't grown?

Hello there. I bought my RES hatchling about a year ago and he hasn't really grown at all since. When I first got him, I kept him in a 20 gallon tank with a water heater, filter, a basking light and a good eating schedule. I have a pond outside that is about 5 ft long, 3 ft wide and 3 ft deep. I live in Vegas, so when spring came, the pond warmed up. So I thought I could put him in there so he could grow and have plenty of natural sunlight. The pond has circulation, a perfect basking spot that he loved to use, plenty of sunlight, and he had a regular feeding schedule. He also lived with two other painted turtles who were close to full grown. A few months ago I brought him back inside in order to keep a close eye on him and make him grow. I put him back in the twenty gallon tank with a filter, a basking light, and a regular feeding schedule in hopes that it will spark some growth in him. Today, he is still there and is still about the same size of when I got him. He is an inch and a half long and an inch wide. I am really worried and I don't want him to grow out of his shell. I have had experience with hatchlings before and she grew rapidly, with no problem. I am pretty sure it is not some kind of dwarf thing or mutation because I have noticed that he can't tuck his head completely in his shell anymore. Please help me address the problem. Thank you so much!

  • Does my tortoise have a flesh eating virus?!?

Please Help! My tortoise has been sick ever since he woke up from hibernation a couple weeks ago. I then noticed 2 weeks after that he had a wound on his leg. A fly laid eggs on the wound and I flushed the eggs out thinking I got all of them. About two days later I saw that his legs were raw and discovered that there were maggots eating his leg! I took out the maggots and we took him to the vet the next day. He was very dehydrated because he wasn't eating or drinking so the vet told us the give him soak baths and prescribed antibiotics. Well it's been three days and my tortoise isn't even walking anymore and it seems that his flesh is just getting eaten away. I want to take him back to the vet but my parents are telling me that there is nothing they can do.

Can someone please tell me what's wrong with him?

Could there be maggots eating his insides?

Is there anything I can do to heal him?

    PLEASE HELP! Thank you!

  • My desert tortoise is getting eaten alive?!?

help me! My two desert tortoises woke up from hibernation a few weeks ago. One was fine and acting like himself while the other didn't look so good. He did not walk around that much and did not eat. I then discovered a wound on his foot and thought that might be the reason for his behavior and treated it. But today I went out to feed him and noticed that the inside of his thigh looked raw. I looked inside and saw what looked like a maggot or worm go into his leg! the other leg had some too! I put hydrogen peroxide to kill them but I don't know if that would work. PLEASE HELP ME!

What are they? and how do I get them out? please help! thank you!

  • What will happen to my dog?

I have a 9 year old Chihuahua mix that could be pregnant by a pure bread Chihuahua. She is showing the symptoms, and if she were to be pregnant, she would be three weeks into the pregnancy. She has had two litters before. I am concerned because of her age and I am wondering if she will be alright during pregnancy and birth. Also, will there be any negative effect of the puppies?

    Please help! thank you

  • What's wrong with my baby tortoise's POOP?

hello, i have a baby desert tortoise that is about a year old. It shares an outdoor enclosure with two 3 year old tortoises. Their diets consist of chopped collard, turnip and mustard greens with chopped bell peppers and apples, with fruit pellets. Lately, my baby tortoise's poop doesn't look normal. It is not diarrhea, but it's pasty. It is also has a little bit white in it also and when it comes out there is a liquid that comes out with it. Can anyone tell me what it might be? Is it life threatening? and How can I fix it?

  • Is my tortoise ok eating this?

I feed my tortoise dandelion leaves mixed with rep cal tortoise feed every day at about 3-4 o'clock pm. My tortoise is about three years old and i dont see him growing that much (he is a desert tortoise) . I am getting really worried because his shell keeps getting a little soft. His tank is indoors and i got him a UVB light but it seems like its no doing anything. He still walks around a lot. Is the dandelion leaves providing him with enough nutrients? Should i try a new diet? or is the lack of natural sunlight effecting his growth?

    PLEASE HELP! thank you!

  • What does it mean when my turtle's skin is a little light and pink?

it is winter so i put my red eared slider to hibernate. I put it in a plastic been with a few fish. It is getting warmer now so I went to go take the bin out. When I took my turtle out it looked like his skin I saw that it was a light pink. I think it was because his water was a little dirty and the lack of sunlight. But is this life threatening??
