  • Creative answers to "are you twins?"?

I am friends with a pair of twins. They are fraternal, but can pass as identical. Their physical features leave no doubt that they are twins, at least for most people. As many twins are, they are constantly asked if they are twins, sisters, and even if they are related! They're getting tired of answering the more obvious questions, so we are looking for clever come-backs. So far we have, "yes, we are womb-mates," "no, we found each other at summer camp," and "no, our mom just had us at the same time." Does anyone else have clever comebacks to the twin question?

  • Best fish for a small gallon tank?

I am looking for a bright, low maintenance species of fish to go in a heated 2 gallon tank with an air stone filter. I have an African dwarf frog in there already, so I am looking for a non-aggressive species (my betta was being housed in the tank, but had to be re-located due to his aggression).

I have considered guppies, but to my understanding I would not be able to house more than one or two in a 2 gallon tank, and they are supposed to be kept in groups. I have also considered a small goldfish, but I've heard they are extremely dirty. Any ideas?

  • What can't I miss in Glacier?

I will be going to Glacier Park for the first time in September, but for only 3 days, so I'm looking for a list of the things I absolutely can't miss. Since the trip is so short, I'd prefer not to cross into Canada. Any ideas?

  • itunes account not showing up under sharing?

I am attempting to finally move the rest of my music from my home computer to my laptop, but iTunes is blocking my attempts once again, and the help section is not helping. I have enabled home sharing on both accounts. Under "sharing" on the left hand sidebar, my laptop account comes up, but on my laptop no shared computers are showing. I have done all that is suggested under the "help" option. Does anyone know how to make the itunes account on my home computer show up on my laptop?

  • Where to find a rat breeder?

I am looking for a pet fancy rat, and I have decided to go with a breeder to avoid the possible health problems found in pet store rats, as well as a better socialized pet. However, I am having some issues finding breeders in my area. The few breeder directories I have looked through have had a lot of websites no longer in use. Does anyone know a good directory where I can look up ratteries, or a rattery in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, or Western Montana?

  • I need help opening PDFs?

Whenever I try to open a PDF file on my laptop, the document opens up on Microsoft Word in coding, and no matter what option I choose I cannot get it to become a readable document (some of it is in English). When I try to save it or open it online, I just keep getting the little box asking me to save or open it. Is there some way I can change my settings or something so that I can read PDFs?

  • How do I talk to my roommate about her PDA while avoiding the awkwardness?

My roommate and I will never be best friends, but we get along well and I generally like her. Unfortunately, there is one issue that is making things very awkward in our relationship, and it's making me miserable.

"Lexi" is rarely without a boyfriend, and they are in the room a lot. Despite the fact that we agreed there would be no boys in the room after a certain time, and no kissing, etc, Lexi and her boyfriend regularly make out in our room with me just a few feet away, and often lay on her bed and make out (once again, with me in the room). Now, this isn't me suddenly walking in on them, usually I have been in the room and they will come in and begin fooling around in full view of me. I used to leave the room whenever this happened, but I am tired of being forced out of my own room at all hours. I know that Lexi knows this makes me uncomfortable, because she told a friend she knew I was leaving out of discomfort.

Despite this, we do get along when her boyfriend is not around, but I am at the point where I need to talk to her (I just don't have the courage). Does anyone have any ideas for a casual conversation starter, that won't make things even more awkward between us?

  • Creative ideas for a dorm room pet?

I am a freshman in college and one of the hardest things for me to adjust to is not having a pet. Since I cannot get the species I would prefer (something furry), I am looking for something a bit more creative. Here's what I'm looking for:

    1. Something interesting to watch

    2. Dorm policy is that it must live in water, but something such as a hermit crab could pass

    3. It has to be quiet, the walls are thin and I have a roommate

    4. It can't be something that has an odor

    5. Relatively low-maintenance and low-cost

    6. Something that can handle a bit of stress. I live 5 hours away, so it would need to be able to stay alive during a car ride

I was thinking an African Dwarf Frog (the type that can live in fishbowls) but I'm interested in anything that I might not have thought of.

  • How to stop a laptop from over-heating?

I have an HP laptop that isn't even 6 months old. Just recently (about 2 weeks ago), it started heating up very quickly and it hasn't stopped. At times the fan sounds like an airplane taking off. I am a college student, so I am forced to use my laptop a lot, but it heats up within the first 5 minutes of being on. Does anyone know what is causing this (there isn't anything blocking the fan, and it's on a desk) and how I can fix it?

  • Saving a Power Point on a flash drive?

I recently saved my half-completed powerpoint, which is the Microsoft 2002 model, on my flash drive. When I tried to pull it back up on the same computer, a pop-up appeared saying that I was trying to use the Microsoft Office Home and Student Trial 2007, and that I would either have to buy the software or enter my purchase code. This message does not appear when I save something directly on the computer. Should I dig up the purchase code for my 2002 model, or is there a way to save it on the flash drive so that this message does not appear (I am not able to work on the powerpoint, since I have not paid for the 2007 software it is "read only")?

  • Can't remember the title of a great book about a seeing eye dog?

The book is fiction, and about a boy who is delivering a package that turns out to be a bomb. The boy is blinded, and is sent to a center to be trained for a seeing-eye dog. At first the boy is uncooperative, but he soon grows fond of the dog, which is a yellow labrador named Mick. The book's title is something simple, like "Guide Dog," and I believe it is an older book, but I cannot find it on Amazon or at my local library under that title name. Does anyone know what this book is called (and maybe who wrote it)?

  • Transferring itunes songs, etc. from one computer to another?

I recently bought a new laptop, and I am trying to transfer the music, movies and TV shows from my old laptop onto the new one. I tried doing it through an external hard drive, but according to itunes, the songs are not authorized to play on my new computer, although I am using the same iTunes account. Is there an easier way of transferring my music than by burning it all onto CDs?

  • Are you put under when bone marrow is harvested?

I am seriously considering having my bone marrow tested to see if I could be matched with someone needing a donor, but I'm concerned about the level of pain involved. I know that my hips will be sore for a week or so afterward, but will I be put under during the procedure, or will I just be given local anesthetic?

Also, who would you suggest I contact in order to have my marrow tested? The local blood bank?

  • College packing list additions?

Does anyone have a list or a couple items that they didn't find on a college packing list, but ended up needing or wanting once they got to college? I would really appreciate it!
