im new here. so I figured computer science was the best place to ask a question about a computer especially since I didn't see any other computer q/a sites on stack.

im planning to get an all in one computer for game development. I was wondering if y'all here thought that would be a good idea. the game engine im going to use is unity but I will probably experiment with udk cryengine and any other. (I doubt this is the right place to post this question... if it isnt let me know where to post and i'll do it there, sorry for anything wrong :) ) the graphics for it aren't killer but theyre decent if that helps.

also, I wanted the all in one to be an unplug and go anywhere computer. I know they have portables and that's what I plan on getting, is a portable all in one. do you think there would be a problem with using a portable all in one as a normal wall outlet style all in one computer and just unplugging the battery when its charged and leaving the wall outlet in and then when I want to go somewhere putting the battery back in and unplugging? would that damage it at all? (if you don't understand what I meant there, imagine the portable all in one as a laptop except without a dead battery. its plugged into the wall with the charger except the battery isn't in to kill it and then when I want to go somewhere I pop it in (the battery) and unplug the charger chord from the laptop.)

I was wondering how much it would sell for. im not sure how much ram it came with but right now it shows 1gig, if it came with a second it may have came loose because I haven't opened it up yet. its an intel genuine 1.6ghz dual core processor and I have forgotten what the video card is but the hard drive is 230 gigs. it has nice speakers at the back end of it and I have windows xp 7 and lubuntu multi booting on it. my girlfriends birthday is coming up and she said she wants to learn the bass guitar and since I play guitar I figured it would be cool if we played together. I was wondering if y'all had any ideas on what a good bass guitar would be for her. i'll say 150-200 is my limit on a bass guitar and it would be nice if it came with an amp (preferably a mediocre to good quality amp) but it doesn't have to. And i'd say the genres of music that she would play with it are probably rock or blues and maybe some anime type music.

im pretty sure it has Leonardo decaprio in it but im not entirely positive. my mom said it was matt damon but then she describes the movie wrong. what I remember from it is a kid who stays after school to solve a math problem that some teachers or professors could not solve; a janitor walks in on him and he runs and the janitor looks at the board and then the movie shows the board and how he solved it. its a chalk board. after that you see the outside of a diner and the kid either walks into the diner or is already in there with some friends.

i Might end up playing guitar for my church but i only have an acoustic guitar and i need an electric one. Im going to be playing praise and worship music if i chose to play for them and if i don't ive always wanted an electric guitar anyways. I need help choosing a guitar and it would be great if it was 200 or lower for the price. I just want a beginner guitar. Could you help choose an amp too?

I play acoustic guitar a little. I have one actually but i wanted to learn how to play an electric guitar. Im looking for an electric guitar in the 100-170 range but its fine if its a little more. I want a guitar that sounds like beading Benjamin flyleaf nine lashes and cold. Im not exactly sure what amp to get either. I have one for my acoustic but i dont know how it would sound. my girlfriend and i have been dating for six,months. It will be seven in a day. ive had several girlfriends before her. I thought i loved them and i thought i loved her but i dont think i really do in the sense of husband and wife. I love her though because Im suppose to love her as a christian should. Ive started acting right praying and paying attention in church. Watching my language. She says shes catholic but curses and does not act the way i'd expect. She doesnt even go to church. i think she might really love me or shes very dramatic. She would cut and think of suicide before we dated. Since we have started i havent seen a scratch on her. One night i came over and we did something i regret . We didnt have sex but we did something like it and would have gone further if nobody was home. Now that im a christian im starting to act better but she still loves to do sexual things we use to do. I struggle with porn as a christian but havent watched it or masturbated in a few weeks. I feel like god is telling me i need to spend time with him and wait a while before i think about marriage or a girlfriend. I feel like im being told to love him before everyone else. I dont know how to break up with her. A good friend of mine a person i look up to as a role model is getting engaged. I was told today by his fiancé who is another christian friend i have.. Im afraid of what my friends, christian or not, will think of me. Im afraid my girlfriend will tell what we've done. i am 16 shes 15. I play paintball but I dont want to pay to go to a feild if I dont have to so since e have woods I figured id build my own paintball course. My grandpa, step grandpa and dad all build houses. My step grandpa owns his own buisness for it so I know more about this than most people but I still have questions.

If I were to build a frame for a wall then what would last last for a good time and be cheapest. 2x4? What could I cover the wall in? Would plywood work? Roofers plywood? It should be cheapest too. It doesnt need to look pretty. It just needs to survive rain. I live in louisiana.

i want to know where to get a laptop motherboard for fairly cheap. it cant be more than 70 or 80 dollars and it has to have a spot for DDR/DDR2/DDR3 type ram but I will buy it. I just want a barebones laptop motherboard. no CPU no case. it should have onboard video and audio since I have failed to understand what that is though. im learning though so no put downs. (: i think asus and intel make motherboards and other things and amd makes the CPU

I want to build a laptop. I've been watching Bucky at thenewboston.com on how to make a computer but I'm going to make mine a laptop. no big deal just need a chargeable power supply. my problem is the motherboard I want says "Onboard Video Chipset None"

what does this mean? no video? do I need to get a graphics card? if so how do I install it?

will my monitor be useless until I get a graphics card?

I'm also getting this a CPU for it. the motherboard says it needs an APU type CPU with an FM2 socket type. OKAY!!! found it. but what is an APU? at the top of the webpage it says

is an APU a CPU and GPU combined? if so then do I need to worry about the no video chipset problem I described above? what is a GPU? graphics processing unit?

i want a fast android tablet preferably 1.2 Ghz or more but anything will do.

it should be wifi only if possible.

it should have expandable memory if possible.

large screen 6in or more.

im going to buy a used one probably that doesnt boot or start because of flashing isssues or somthing and put windows xp on it like the youtube tutorials. thats why it has to have atleast 1.2 Ghz or more if possible, so its not deathly slow. then it will be like my moms first computer. really slow but in tablet form and i can do all my computer stuff on it. any suggestions on tablets with those features would be nice but i gues anything will do as long as it runs.

im 15 and blind in my right eye since i was born... ive got 20/80 or 20/200 or 20/100 in my left eye... from 3 diferent eye doctors... i like making things and i think im going to build a laser next... a 2watt high powered 445nm burning laser... strong enough to burn wood at catch it on fire... you need special laser gogles/glasses to even look at the spot the laser beam is hiting without hurting your eyes... i think the laser is UVlight but im not sure... its bright blue which is a new type of laser diode color...

the question with all those factors playing in should i be playing with lasers or just find some other hobby... i got one eye left should i skip this project

please only true christians answer.... my girlfriend has had many bad boyfriends from what ive been told. she has had 4 or 5 boyfriends before me and she says that all of them have said something to hurt her or treated her wrong and she still hangs out with them. she also says that they have cheated on her. i am a christian and i say i will never do that to her. i say i wont lie and i say i wont do anything to hurt her purposly. she doesnt believe i should still go out with her. she says stuff like im not pretty or funny or cute even when i tell her she is but she says it like she means that she isnt. she says all of her past boyfriends have said something to hurt her like saying you are usless for example. she is constantly asking me why i am countinueing to be with her. she asks me almost daily. i say stuff like you are funny smart cute and you stick up for the people you care about even if they dont for you. she says no one sticks up for her. i think i may really love her. we are taking it slower then most teenagers. im 15 she is 14. our friends keep asking why we havent kissed yet. we are taking it slower than most teens and i dont mind and she doesnt either. we have only held hands huged and kissed on the cheek. sometimes i will come up behind her and just hug her like that from behind like most people do. she keeps wondering why im with her even though i tell her the same thing over and over again and i belive in my heart that what im saying is true. we say we love each other. i belive i may be in love but i guess nobody knows for sure. she wonders why i love her and i tell her in extrmely long text messages and over the phone. i choose not to talk about it in person because her mood starts to change to a bad depressed mood somtimes and im really worryied for her. she cuts and has been in the hospital for 2weeks over it before. i pray for her daily and try to do everything i can for her. she doubts what i say when i tell her why i "love" her and i cant convince her. she says stuff like oh you go to church your a good person and you dont curse why would you go out with me? the thing is i do curse but im stopping and i do go to church every sunday. i cry everytime im in church. she doesnt go to church at all and doesnt like to cry in front of me and let me help because she is afraid of what i may think of her. i tell her that i dont care if she cries i love her and nothing can change that. i want to help her stop cutting and i want her to believe me when i tell her that i really do care about her. everyone says we are perfect for eachother. i say she is perfect for me. she still wonders why i havent dated any of my friends that like me. how do i convince her i really do care about her and how do i stop her from cutting even if she says i cant help?
