I'm designing an undergraduate course on US popular culture and media for this summer. I'm looking for some ideas.

There was this question: "how old were you when you began experimenting with the same sex?" or something to that effect, and I noticed that a lot of people answered no, and one even answered yuck.

Do you think they just peek into the LGBT category to see what the queer kids talk about? Don't you find it voyeouristic of them?

(that's besides the fact that people also just post offensive answers and questions to get a rise out of us.)

I mean, the most vocal people in the immigration forum have firm opinions of the subject. Have you received/read any responses that have made you wonder about your position on immigration?

For me, it was "should we bring back slavery for illegals?"

I thought women's studies was a field of the social sciences.. until I hit this forum, and read questions about lingerie.

I'm not a botanist, but I would like to get one for a friend who is, as a birthday present. I'm interested in something that covers Central America. Costa Rica would do, although Nicaragua would be preferrable, but I haven't found anything like that, and even if I did, I wouldn't know if it's worth getting.
