  • How come in England, Wales and Scotland, ladies had different names than men?

For example, men had the name Griffing and women were known as Griffin. Although I've checked, and there are men with the last name Griffin at that period in time, too. We have a Griffin crest of arms over the mantle at my uncle's house, so how can this be? I've seen my family tree and women are named Griffin and the men are named Griffing and my Uncle decended from one of the women named Griffin. When these people come to the USA, or at least after the 1700's, this name changing stops!

  • Since James Cameron is making a Spiderman movie, do you think it will out-do the other three in the franchise?

Especially if it's in 3-D, too. All of Cameron's films are state of the art and extremely high money makers. So, do you think this installment will pass the $1 billion mark in ticket sales, similar to his last two films, Avatar and Titanic, #1 and #2 on the box office list. I figured it would out-gross the other movies on a single-movie basis at the box office, just because it's a James Cameron film. And it's not just because ticket prices will be higher.

  • Do you think the Runaways movie will actually be as big as the hype?

Dakota Fanning (who plays Cherie Currie, whose book comes out today, BTW) is the only person who is a teenager who is in the cast! I know they cast Kristen Stewart, mostly due to her popularity and not her musical ability, but who's very close to 20 and three other people over 21 to play girls who were supposed to be only 15 or 16? Do you think this age discrepancy will catch up to the film? Also, do you expect to hear a "new" version of these girls doing "Cherry Bomb" or should we be satisfied with the original recorded in the 1970s?

  • Can you name a "call-back" where a film gives a nod to the director's previous work, showing the name or logo?

Famous "call-backs" are such as these.

In A Clockwork Orange, when Alex is in the record store, you see the soundtrack for 2001 in the front of the section. Both were directed by Stanley Kubrick.

In Terminator 2, you can see the logo on the side of the truck is Benthic Petroleum, the same used in James Cameron's film, The Abyss.

In Gremlins, you can see the happy face "logo" from The Howling on the refridgerator door and there are lobby cards for it in the theater, as well.

Do YOU know of any "call-backs" worthy of being mentioned??

  • Is anyone else angry that EA Sports has decided to stop making sports game for the computer?

EA stopped making Madden in 2009 and now is putting out FIFA and NHL 10 versions, but not for PC. I am not buying a new games system just because they won't release the games in PC, anymore, either.

I used to play Madden 08 and did last year when they didn’t put out a game for PC. I still play the Ravens, but am slightly upset I can’t put in this season's schedule and get a roster update even though I have the old game.

EA has decided to abandon the PC community, the ones who got them where they are in the first place. They have decided to stop making FIFA and NHL for PC, as well. I refuse to go out to purchase a new game system for one game. I only got FIFA and NHL last year for the first time since 2002. So, it looks like I have the last versions available for PC, which really sucks.

I agree with other posters who say that since EA Sports got the NFL license in 2005, they have raped the public with their prices and released substandard games, mainly because there is no competition. Their updates are puerile, at best and they want you to purchase add-ons that are almost completely useless.

If I owned EA stock, I would probably sell it.

    Anyone else have any thoughts??

  • Kevin Williamson is writing a screenplay for Scream 4. Do you think it should contain the original cast?

Or, should they attempt to inject some younger blood into the mix. After all, it's been 10 years since Scream 3 and that generation has grown up and aren't too much into horror films any more. Maybe someone's little sister or brother or should the original cast attempt to revive their sagging careers by doing another movie?

  • Help with a trade offer! I've been offered LT for Dallas Clark. I play in a keeper league.?

Here is my roster. I have starred the guys I hoped to keep.

    Baltimore Crabs Player

*Romo, Tony DAL QB - 6 FA

*Barber, Marion DAL RB - 6 FA

*Lewis, Jamal CLE RB - 9 FA

Morris, Sammy NEP RB (Q) - 8 FA

Rhodes, Dominic BUF RB - 9 FA

*Stewart, Jonathan CAR RB (Q) - 4 FA

Bruce, Isaac SFO WR - 6 FA

*Cotchery, Jerricho NYJ WR - 9 FA

Driver, Donald GBP WR - 5 FA

Galloway, Joey NEP WR - 8 FA

*Ward, Hines PIT WR - 8 FA

*Clark, Dallas IND TE - 6 FA

Heap, Todd BAL TE - 7 FA

Hauschka, Steven BAL PK - 7 FA

The guy offered the trade right after Heap scored last night. LT would be an improvement over Jamal Lewis, but he's also "injured." I'm trying to weigh the options over getting rid of a top 4 TE for a 30 year old RB who was almost cut this offseason.

  • Would you attend a Twilight convention if it was scheduled in your city? How far would you travel to attend?

Summit Entertainment aims to stage 20 -- count 'em, 20! -- three-day conventions for Twilight fans beginning in March of next year. A news release said that fans will be able to meet such Twilight cast members as Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene. Conspicuous by their absence from the announcement were stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Summit said the conventions will also include screenings of clips from the Twilight movies, panel discussions, photo ops, contests, and wine-and-cheese parties. In a statement, Creation V.P. Erin Ferries said, "This is really about different people coming together who share the same passion and love for, not only the books, but the movies, and come to immerse themselves around Twilight."

  • What do you think is the best short form music video?

We're talking concept, here. Not a performance video, because they are a dime a dozen. What I mean is something like the song "The Miracle" by Queen. Those little kids playing as Queen was an absolutely great idea. I love how the video captured at least 5 incarnations of Freddie Mercury, all portrayed by some English 11 year old boy.

I thought it was the mark of genius. Anyone else see any music videos that really have "knocked your socks off" so to speak. Not many have had such a great concept (IMO) and been able to be pulled off with such flair and accuracy. After all, the kid who plays Freddie Mercury runs around the set, similar to the older man he is portraying (Mercury).

And please, no screeds about how Freddie was too sick (AIDS) to make the complete video or how you think Michael Jackson's long form video of Thriller is the best. I already admit that is the best LONG form video. We're talking 4 to 5 minutes. This is all music genres, too.

  • What would you do if Kristen Stewart decided not to continue her role as Bella in the Twilight series?

Kristen has said that she could easily walk away from the series and she might, because she would like to see all these teenage girls in a complete frenzy. In a recent interview, she hinted that the only reason she was did New Moon was because of Robert Pattinson. She has also said they may break up and she's leaving the Twilight series! I guess the producers are glad New Moon is "in the can."

  • What is the difference in the 83 minute version and 95 minute version of Pink Floyd: The Wall (the movie)?

I just wanted to know what was cut out, since I already own the 95 minute version.

  • Would you trade for Stewart with the #3 pick in the draft? I'm in a keeper league that is TD only.?

Stewart is on a run first team with the Panthers. I have nobody except Barber to play RB this season, with the exception of Jamal Lewis, who I think is past his prime. At least I would have 2 RB's that are ranked in the top 21 RB's. Lewis is ranked 31st, Morris is 47th and Rhodes is 65th.

My #3 pick is like the 75th overall in another type of draft and I don't see too many rookies I'm interested in.

  • What is the best final line in a movie?

List a few of them to get the points, because I know a LOT of movies. The best ones that I can think of is "Is it raining outside?" from Take the Money and Run and "It's time to go for seconds!" from Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex but Were Afraid to Ask. Both are Woody Allen movies. Can you top them?!

  • Is anyone, extremely ticked off at EA Sports for not making games for the PC anymore? This is NOT a good idea!?

I think I had bought Madden Football every year since it's been in existence, except last season when it wasn't put out on PC. I have read they won't be putting out NHL or FIFA on PC anymore, as well. I bought the games, even though they were only lousy roster updates.

I don't care about baseball, football or golf, but they are not putting them out in that format, either. And to think, if it wasn't for those of us who spent the money to purchase the game on PC years ago, the company wouldn't be around. Talk about giving your fans a kick in the groin!

Now, they have set up EA Download... If you can't buy the game, what will you download updates to and for?
