Kevin Williamson is writing a screenplay for Scream 4. Do you think it should contain the original cast?

Or, should they attempt to inject some younger blood into the mix. After all, it's been 10 years since Scream 3 and that generation has grown up and aren't too much into horror films any more. Maybe someone's little sister or brother or should the original cast attempt to revive their sagging careers by doing another movie?

No, this is an ill-conceived venture as far as movies and popular culture; there will be better sequels - ongoing series from authors like Cormac McCarthy -- his Pulitzer-Prize winner the Road will make it to theatres this fall and "Blood Meridian" is being worked on by director Todd Field

Williamson is writing the screenplay. The film is currently not even in preproduction yet.

The Scream franchise under Williamson's writing were traditionally released for the Christmas holidays, not in the fall, so look for the flick to be released around that time - the week before Christmas - again.

The 'target audience' is *18* to 24 year olds. There is no such thing as a '15 - 24 year olds' target audience.

Jennifer Love Hewitt wasn't in any of the Scream movies.

Actually Kevin is not writing the screenplay. He is simply penning the treatment and outline at this stage. Because the film would cost pocket change and a good month to put together, they have a 2010 release date...likely in the fall. Courtney Cox and David Arquette are the only two with promises to return at this point, and I can assure you a new young cast will be set if it even makes it out of development hell. Studios do not care about crusty farts like you that think ten years is a long time to wait until you revive a franchise. They care about the 15 - 24 year olds who will all go see it simply because they want to, not because they care about who is in the cast.

Yes Jennifer Love Hewitt was never in Scream movies just I Know What You Did Last Summer. And it is a shame that Neve Campbell won't be in it I think the original people should be in the movies. It degrades the movie if the original people aren't involved just doesn't seem right.

They had already written the script they are rewriting it now because Neve Campbell turned down the role of Sidney, so they are trying to figure out what to do with it now.

So they definitely can't use all of the original cast.

And to the poster who mentioned Jennifer Love Hewitt she wasn't in Scream.
