My Nikon D-5000 DSLR is not recognizing the SD card?
The camera is not that old. I removed the SD card to download pics to my computer, then put the card back in the camera. When I went to take pictures, the camera says there is no SD card inserted. It is inserted correctly. Could the SD card be bad?
2 AnswersCameras1 decade agoPersonal injury attorney not releasing funds from settled portion of our case?
We have been dealing with a personal injury lawsuit for about two years. The accident occurred in CA and we reside in another state, so we are dealing with our attorney all long distance. The case has been complicated, mainly due to an inattentive attorney from the start, whom we fired. We retained our current attorney not too long ago and the case against the defendants insurance company has been resolved and funds have been sent to our attorney. Here is where it becomes tricky. The funds for my settlement have been sent to us, the attorney is holding the funds from my husband's portion of the settlement until a settlement is reached with our insurance company (the defendant was an underinsured driver, we had underisured driver coverage). Our attorney claims he cannot release these funds because he will more than likely need to spend the money on litigating the case against our insurance company..and it just does not make sense to me. In our eyes, the case against the defendant is closed (and in the courts eyes) I don't see why the funds cannot be released, but my attorney alleges this is normal practice in personal injury law. Anyone have any experience with a situation similar to this? Thanks.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoCan someone help with a sewing machine question?
It has been many years since I have used a sewing machine let alone thread a sewing machine. I have just purchased a new machine and I threaded it fine, the machine sews beautifully. However, the thread broke and upon rethreading the machine, I have done something wrong! When sewing a seem the top side comes out just fine, but the bottom seam is all twisted up tangled. Almost like too much thread is coming out. I dont know what I have done wrong and Im increasingly frustrated. Any advice is welcomed, thanks.
6 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoUpgrade for laptop and now it acts like it has a virus?
We did the windows upgrade on our HPdv2000 the other day, since then it has started acting funny. You have to restart it from sleep mode and other strange things. We attempted to restore it to an earlier date last night and now it is acting like it has a virus. It will not permit the anti virus software to run, there is no add/remove program function, in an attempt to restore it again, the system restore is not working. Basically anything on the control panel is not really functioning. Does anyone have any ideas for system recovery. We thought we had the recovery disk, but we do not. The OS is Vista, btw. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I was going to color my hair this afternoon, and more than likely I will end up taking my son to the pool later. Will the color be ruined by the chlorine?
2 AnswersHair1 decade agoFinding a new job while pregnant?
Has anyone ever had to search for mew employment whilst pregnant? I am in a position that I may be forced to seek new employment. I am afraid to make this decision as I don't see what rational employer would hire a woman who will be taking leave in 3 months. I am in health care and 24 weeks along. I am interested in other mom's experiences. Thanks.

3 AnswersAir Travel1 decade agoI need help finding community resources for a family down on their luck.?
I have checked into the obvious food pantries, Catholic Services, Lutheran Services, and the public assistance. This family has undergone some drastic hardships the past 6 months. Dad is disabled and he is unable to work at all due to the family being in a car accident. There is a 6 year old boy, and mom is 6 months pregnant. Mom works full time, but due to lack of funds, she can't even fill her car with gas. Anyone have any ideas? They are in the Madison, WI area.

2 AnswersDiet & Fitness1 decade agoSister's dog is dying, it is time for him to be put down, how do I tell her?
My sister and brother in law have a beautiful German shorthaired pointer and he was diagnosed with prostate cancer less than a month ago and given one month to live. the past week he has stopped eating and is whimpering in constant pain. Is it a breech of trust or not even my place to tell her it is time to put him down? This is her first pet and I am not sure she is objective anymore. It is breaking my heart to think of this wonderful animal suffering. Ideas?
1 AnswerDogs1 decade agoMy cat has two lumps in her breast tissue?
I found two lumps in my cat's breast tissue one on either side of each other. They are about 2-3 cm in size. Of course, I fear mammary cancer which has a high morbidity rate. We took her to the vet this morning, and we are in a wait and see phase now. Anyone have kitties with positive outcomes of mammary cancer or mammary lumps? I guess im grasping at straws. Thanks!
