How should I dress in Alaska during February?
I will travel to Anchorage, next week. I have waterproof, shearling lined boots. I need to know what kind of clothing and jacket I need to stay warm. I would also like to look feminine; if that's at all possible.
4 AnswersPacking & Preparation1 decade agoDoes anyone know Sandra Woods?
She moved to Woodburn, Oregon when she was in 3rd grade. She is approximately 37 years old, today.
She is my long lost childhood friend.

2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoIs it stealing?
Suppose you go to McDonalds and order a drink and they have those really cool green Shrek straws. You only need one for your drink. If you take two-so you can use one later at home: Is it stealing?
12 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoCan the scissors used to cut hair cause split ends?
I cut my own hair and it looks great; except I've developed huge split ends. My hair is healthy and not processed. Is it possible that my scissors were too dull and created the split ends? What kind of scissors should I use?
I want to keep cutting my own hair since it looks great. I usually have to pay $25 for someone to trim my hair, but they don't do a good job.

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion about Evolution: Are we animals?
It's common practice to make comparisons btwn animal behaviour and human nature (fight or flight, pheromones, infidelity). However, no one can deny that humanity surpasses anything that has been observed in the animal kingdom. No animal has even come close.
Logically, that would indicate we are made of different stuff.
Evolution has attempted to explain our physical development, but what about the rest? What are we, if not animals?

Thanks.
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoBased on the previously posted question (below): Is Ignorance a religious belief?
Please read:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AiVjm...
Then answer:
If ignorance is a religious belief, is it violation of your religious freedom to receive education? Is it a violation of your religious freedom to overhear something that you don't believe in?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Muslims about animal sacrifice and "witchcraft": How common is it?
Do only certain kinds of people (based on location, social/financial status) still practice?
I saw a French movie, that took place in Tangiers, and a huge sheep was sacrificed in conjuction with a buildign project. There was also mention of withcraft and characters participating in "superstitious" rituals.
I'm curious about how prevalent these practices are and if they are limited to specific countries/cultures? (I know the answer seems obvious, but I have to ask to get specific info)
Thanks.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould manners become the new Black?
For the past 15 years, people have been pushing kindness... maybe that was too ambitious.
Too many seem to have no understanding of the basic respect that manners are based on. Somehow people have gotten the impression that being right (in their own minds) is an excuse to run over everyone else.
Could simple manners actually stop the: "I know better than you, so I will harrass you until you convert because I am doing it for your own good" mentality??
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEtiquette: Is it bad manners?
If someone humbly asks a question on Y!A, that requires a specific answer about their own religion, is it bad manners to disrespect them by answering that their religion is wrong and other childish crap?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre atheists/agnostics right (correct)?
Based on this question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnK5Y...
Have the Christians lost their minds and do they need to be stopped?
What would be the best means of intervention? Is it even possible to enlighten (pun intended...Sorry, that was mean) a Christian?
20 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould the Religion and Spirituality Section include a disclaimer?
Should there be a disclaimer, aimed specifically at Christians, that indicates satan has taken over yahoo!answers religion and spirituality section.
It could state: Any christians (or others) seeking to enter this category with the intent to praise God and share like experiences are cautioned to beware the works of Satan. You may be uncontrollable drawn toward conflict and become unwillingly engaged in spiritual/philosophical rhetoric. If this should happen, your God will remain unpraised and his word will not be spread.
That seems a bit long. How can the disclaimer be shortened?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Bible Scholars: Why is the bible so repetitive?
Today, I encountered several instances of the same exact words of Christ that were duplicated-word for word-in different books of the bible. Why?
Can it be condensed?
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Christians and Enlightened people about the Book of Life: What is the criteria...?
for having your name written in the book of life? What is the book of life?
I just read Revelations, as provided by various xtians. It indicates that anyone who's name is not written in the book of life will be cast into the "lake of fire and brimstone". It also speaks of death as a place-like hades-not as a state of being. Death and hades will be cast...you know the rest. But, it doesn't say that anyone will be in death and hades when it is cast. It also doesn't specify what the lake of fire is.
We used to be subject to karma; but have now been released. Karma no longer exists in the sense that we are no longer burdened by our past actions. How do you know that the time of Revelations has not already passed?
Is it possible that all of it has taken place without your notice? And, that it didn't go down like you imagined?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Christians who have a copy of God's Words: Can you find the part where God says I'm goin to Hell?
I'm a very analytical, detail-oriented person. I need to verify facts from the source because heresay won't cut it.
Can you help me?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Christians who like to threaten others: Am I going to hell?
When I was 10 years old, I went to Sunday School at a Christian church. We went into the regular mass for communion. I wasn't saved (baptized), so I was expected to abstain. They all looked at me in horror and disbelief when I took communion, along with them. I did it on purpose.
I use the Lord's name in vain and I have talked down to Jesus.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Athiests who feel like believers are trying to convert you: Why do you challenge them?
How do you benefit?
I'm not an athiest or a christian, but people often try to share their beliefs with me. I just say "No thank you", if I'm not interested.
Sometimes, I let them tell me what's on their mind. I listen and offer supportive feedback.
What would happen if you didn't need to correct them?
Would you disappear if you didn't jump up in disgust and protest?
Would part of you die?
Don't answer the question if it doesn't apply to you (i.e you don't get back in their face and try to make them look stupid). Have a nice day.
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion for Atheists who are looking for proof of God: If you don't believe in God...?
Why bother looking for proof? Why bother asking for it? Why insist that you require it?
When I "lose" my keys, I don't bother searching places where I know they could not possibly be. When someone tells me to look under my bed, I say, "NO! They are not there." But I don't tell anyone that they are ignorant for thinking they might possibly be under the bed. At their house, keys might go under the bed; just not at mine.
If I searched under the bed, that would mean that I doubt myself.
What does it feel like to search for something, knowing that it could never be found?
