I use YIM to send and receive messages on my HTC smartphone. I often don't get messages sent to me or the messages i send never get to the recipient. The lack of dependability is frustrating! What can be done to improve the reliability?

What should I do to keep this from happening?

I inherited a laptop computer and want to remove all of the old files, programs, etc. on the machine. I have the original discs that came with it and would re-install the XP pro that came on the machine to start with.

What's the best way to basically start an older machine up as if it's new? Thanks!

I have an all tube guitar amplifier that is losing some of it's clarity. I've been told that re-tubing will clear that up. How hard is it to do this? On the surface it looks like you pull the old tubes out and stick new ones in. Is it that simple? What is 'biasing'?

I have a 10 year old AO Smith gas water heater that the drain valve has broken off of. It's only the part that connects to a hose, but I think I need to get a new one on there so if it does break further, I don't need to worry about flooding my basement. It's a plastic valve. Can I get one of those from Lowe's or Home Depot?

I have an '03 3 series and every time you turn on the AC, it smells like someone vomited in my dashboard. The dealership has tried "frigi-fresh" a couple of times (did nothing) and now they say that it's atmospheric conditions that is making it smell bad. It's getting to be AC season and I really don't want to have to listen to my wife bitc.... I mean.. complain about it all summer long. Anybody got any ideas on how to solve this???
