I just bought a new computer and hooked it up to my modem and put in the dsl disk. It didn't even come up on the screen by the internet is working. On my other computer, you went through a step by step process to install all the software and all. I don't have any indication that I have att and I don't have the security software either, alhtough I do have the 60 day free antivirus. I installed the att repair tool.

Why was the set up process different on my new computer and why didn't att go though the set up process when I installed the cd? I got no reponse from the cd, although the light flashed, nothing on screen or on programs installed. Internet working fine

I mean really? for example if they take 10 dollars out of every paycheck now, at the end of the year,you have paid in 520 dollars and lets say for example, your tax is 200, so you get 320 refunded back, now lets say they cut payroll tax rate and take only 5 dollars out, so you have 20 dollars more on your check every month, however now you have only paid in 260 at tax time and your tax is still 200 (based on a 10% tack bracket let's say) so you get 60 dollars refunded, therefore you didn't get any extra money, just got it in little drips rather than in a big refund.

There was a woman with 3 kids, one baby and two toddlers. She was standing there scatching off at least 10 lottery tickets (20 dollars worth) and then she tossed them and then she pulled out her WIC card (this is a social welfare program that gives people freebies at tax payer's expense) and loaded her cart with 10 cans of 25 dollar baby forumula. She can't afford formula but can wast money on lottery tickets. I think if any welfare person that wins the lottery should lose 90% to refund the welfare fund, they were supposed to be too poor to afford food, let alone lottery tickets.

This ticks me off. I work hard, never buy lottery tickets and this trash breads and sucks the tax payers and wastes money on lottery tickets.

I grew up in church and after seeing so many of the members make empty promises and ignore anyone who wasn't in their social ecomomic circle, I threw the crap to the side.

My mom attends church every week and is a member. Whenever she misses because my dad is in the hospital, her class members dont even call to see why she isn't in church or if they know my dad is in the hospital, they can;t find the time to visit him.

I recently lost my job and have a new job that I am just getting ready to start. Hurricane ike shut down the place and delayed my employment. I am in deep need of basics. I let a agnostic friend know of my dilemna and in less than a week that person came over and gave me a check to pay my rent for october, whereas my christian bible thumping friend , whom I told about my situation 3 weeks ago (I told i really needed some groceries and if he could help, he makes tons of money and lives a very comfortable life) and well he sent me an email saying he would "call me". well 3 weeks later he still hasn't found time to call me. My nonchristian friend did so much for me where as my christian friend can't spare 5 minutes to call me.

Ok I belive that God helps those in need through other people, not directly. I have found myself in situations where I really needed some practical temporary help to stay afloat but my christian friend offered no help but rather was more concerned about me joining a church. His answer to me not having grocery money was not to buy me food but for me to get out in the parking lot and cry out to God to help me, to beg for his help. In other words my friend wanted me to be shamed and embarrased and to make a spectical of myself rather than he just buy me some groceries. I see many christians living the good life, nice homes, nice cars,, good health care, plenty to eat and yet when someone they know is in need, even someone in their church, they offer no real help, just prayer. Some situations in life can be fixed with a simple financial boost until a person can get that first paycheck or get that car fixed, and without practical help, they will fall into deeper problems and it is almost impossible to get out.

So why don't christians actually help someone in need, rather than just offer cheap prayer?

As a woman who has had been treatly wrong in some of my relationships I have some things that I won't tolerate in a new relationship and I think it is important to put that forward from the beginning (especially when posting an online profile) Men always say that want someone without drama but why can't they understand a woman not wanting to end up with the same kind of man she just broke up with? Every man I have dated has been too busy for me, so I make it a point in saying don't respond if you can't make a relationship a priority. Also after going out with men whom I knew I wasn't compatible with just to be open minded (men who have been divorced many times, or with small children, etc) and finding it to be a mistake I don't want to consider it again and so I just say it. Why do men blame women for being bitter when it is there own kind that contributed to that bitterness? We just get tired of being used and treated bad.

I have been dating him for 2 months. He came into the relationship saying how he wanted to take care of me and all and he gave me alot of attention. In the past couple months he has been "too busy" all the time. His work does keep him busy with travel and all but when his home he is always to busy for me, he is constantly helping his adult married daughters (whom he was always telling me were so "independent") and he has to go out with is friends. We see each other maybe once a week and the last 3 times where just booty calls (he stopped by my place on his way home or to the airport). I have a serious issue because I took my vacation time last week and my employer underpaid me and will not work it out with me. Therefor my entire check plus what little is in the bank has to go for rent meaning I have no money for food, bus fare, etc. I told my boyfriend about this and he thinks I should demand the money and get a new job. That isn't going to put food on the table today.

I am having some financial difficulties (I took a week vacation from work and now my boss is not giving me my vacation pay, therefore I'm totally screwed and have rent money but no food, bus fare, or anything for over 2 weeks till next paycheck which my boss cut my hours so it will be a little check). My boyfriend makes really good money but won't offer to help me with groceries or anything. I know everyone will say that his not my husband just my boyfriend and has no obligation to help me BUT then why is it that I have sex with him and I am only his girlfriend, not his wife? Why is ok for men to have sex with their girlfriends (it is actually expected) but a woman is not supposed to get any financial help from her boyfriend? After all if the man is getting the benefits of a wife, should a woman get the benefits of a husband? And before anyone says anything about women liking sex too, well I think I could like it better if I had a man who wanted to make a committment to me.

Every guy I have been involved with has been against oral sex (well they insist on it but don't return the favor). For 2 it was against their religion, the others did it once and never again and one guy was obsessed it and would do it for hours. Why are guys less than willing to do it?

When I was seeing a married guy I got lectures all the time about how I shouldn't settle for someone who didn't put me first and how I was sitting home at night alone while he was home with is wife. Well I have tried dating 2 men recently (both very single) and neither one has time for me. The first guy I only had 3 dates with in 9 months as he was busy with his kids, church, work, etc. The second one whom I'm dating now seen me all the time when we first starting dating 2 months ago but now is "too busy" with his work, etc and seldom even writes or calls. When he does call it is too late to go out anywhere. I honestly got more attention and seen my married guy alot more than I have either of the single guys I have tried dating. It kind of makes me feel let down as I had high hopes when I thought I had my own man and wasn't bothering someone elses.

It seems like I am always coming home from work, getting dressed up and antipating a date (afterall I did tell I was getting off work early today) and he doesn't call. Then you give up and take off your makeup and undress and then he calls wanting to go out?

I see this all the time. Every man I meet seems to want to meet someone and have all these things they want to do but then when you go out with them a few times, they get too busy to even call. They are too busy with work, family, etc. I know for sure the ones I met weren't married or anything but they seemed to think it was odd if I called them and showed interest in wanting to go out. I have a boyfriend right now but here I am again sitting home on saturday night and I rarely get off work on saturday so I wish I could go out.

I am a 40+ woman with a teenager who lives with my parents. We all lived together for many years but I finally got tired of being told what to do by my mom and my daughter and moved out a few years ago and well my daughter has not moved with me although I do have her on my lease, she won't even stay all night. He helps me a lot and treats me the way I have always wanted to be treated as I never had a boyfriend who actually took me out places and my husband was the same. and spend all your time at work and traveling between both jobs on the bus,spending most of your life in an ugly work uniform, and only making enough to pay the basics (no frills or shopping), and no time to spend with your family or friends, no man, etc.

2. work part time, have time to spend with family and friends, etc while having a relationship with a man who takes care of you, buys you stuff, takes you out, etc, helps out financially,etc. in return you are his "little girl" and maintain a sexual relationship with him (he;s not a bad looking guy, sucessful and has time for you).

I pick the second one as the first choice sucks

If I make love with my lover in the morning and then go out with my new guy, will he be able to tell I have been with someone else earlier in the day, let's say 10 hours earlier? What can I do to keep him from knowing? Serious answers only please.

I typed an important letter because my handwriting is terrible. The place I will take it to print out (i have no printer) cannot open a file in wp format. Is there anyway to change it to a pdf or word document? I don't have microsoft word on my computer and the store computer will only open in pdf or microsoft word.

I am a 40 year old woman with a high school education and not looking to take any addtional schooling (don't have the time or money to do so) I have worked in retail for many years and hate it, the pay is poor, I hate having to wear a uniform when I have so many cute outfits, I am limited in tranportation as I have to take the unreliable bus, so I am not looking to commute alot, and would prefer working from home. I want to have a flexible schedule, work when I am most motivated (sometimes that is midnight) and make a good living to live modestly. What kind of work could someone like myself do that would fit my criteria? Remember I have no money (actually in bankruptcy at the time), and not special talents . I need to bring home about 1,200 a month after taxes.
