Whats wrong with my GFCI outlet?
One of the few GFCI outlets in my home is not working correctly and needed to be replaced. Before putting in the new receptacle, the switch itself was receiving power because the green light was showing up....but i dont think it was wired correctly. So I did some research to make sure the wiring was correct, and it still did not work. At one point, my buddy who was helping me moved the outlet while the power was still connected and the wires came out and sparked a bit. After that, I have not been able to get power to the outlet (not even the green/red gfci light will come on).
I connected the hot to the hot and the white to the white where it is displayed. The ground wire is connected, the power to the outlet is on.....but I just cannot seem to get this right. Could it be that something in the breaker box is messed up? It is something very simple but is an annoyance because there are a few other outlets connected to this single GFCI and will not work until this is connected properly....
8 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs10 years agoIs it safe to replace a 4 prong dryer receptacle into a 3 prong wiring system with no gound?
My dryer receptacle is wired for a 3 prong plug. My new dryer I have has a 4 prong plug, so I purchased a 4 prong receptacle to replace the old 3 prong in the wall. After taking the old plug off, there were only three wires (red, black and white) to connect with no ground wire. I connected the two hot wires and the neutral in the 4 prong plug and it seems to be working fine....I just want to make sure that not having a ground wire is still safe for the dryer to operate.

Ive been wanting to open a restaurant in the small area of AZ that I live in. I don't know where to start education-wise. So any ideas on that? Would I need to go into Hotel and Restaurant Management Programs? I would like to have an educational background instead of just trying to jump into something. Any ideas on specific programs, colleges, or where i should start? Any information would be great. Thanks!

I feel like the medical field is a place where I need to start my career, but I am just not sure of what field to choose. Which is the best to study. I know opinions will differ, but I guess my lack of knowledge of the medical field positions is what is hurting me. Any info would be helpful. Thanks!
