Jeep Cherokee intermittent charging problem?
I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee that will only charge intermittently.
When started it does not charge and the voltage gauge reads 12V
After driving 15 minutes it often will begin to charge and the voltage gauge will read the proper 14V.
Alternator has bench tested fine at 3 separate auto stores
Battery has bench tested fine at 2 different auto stores
Serpentine belt is tight
No check engine light or error code.
"GEN" light does illuminate when it isn't charging.
Battery contact and connections have been cleaned.
Alternator and battery wire are on the same post in front of the fuse box eliminating the 110amp fuse or wire subject to safety recall 658.
Thanks!
5 AnswersJeep1 decade agoRemoving the catalytic converter on a 2003 Wrangler?
Looking to remove the catalytic converter on a 2003 Jeep Wrangler (TJ) as part of an overall exhaust upgrade.
The Jeep will be for off road use and will not need to pass emissions testing.
How do you prevent the computer from showing a check engine light?
Is there a way to remove a code permanently, or bypass the downstream O2 sensor function?
Thanks
4 AnswersJeep1 decade agoHow to keep paint from peeling in bathroom?
I painted the bathroom 4 months ago due to peeling paint.
Surface prep included scraping, sanding, and priming with moisture resistant primer.
The room was then painted with a bathroom specific moisture resistant paint.
Now it's peeling up again.
The bathroom has a fan that is run during and after showers.
I believe the walls are lathe and plaster.
Looking for painting suggestions so I don't have to do this again in six months.
