We have a dog on my street that has started to charge people and attacked a dog a few days ago, which required medical attention. She charged me last week on one of my walks. I held my ground but she did not back down until she got about a foot away from me that day, and she is getting worse by the day. She is running across multiple yards now at people. People in my neighborhood are very bad about not keeping their dogs secured, and I'm use to dogs charging me now, but they usually back off within five feet after realizing that I'm not running from them. This one is different, and I'm afraid she might actually attack me. Anyway, I want to take a large knife with me on my walks from now on. I know if I don't and she attacks me that I might not have the strength to fight her off if she manages to injure me first if I'm relying on my fist. With the knife I've got a lot better odds. So is it legal for me to carry the blade openly and use it on her if she does attack? Would she have to bite first or just be close enough for me to use it? Thanks for your replies and ideas.

The sentence is: If the sugar had not been added this pie would have tasted bitter. I'm not sure which tense "had been added" is. My first impulse was past perfect continuous, but that requires a present participle, and I can't identify any other category it could fit in. The "have tasted" part I identified as present perfect. Is that correct?

I've been trying for about two months now to practice lucid dreaming. For the past 10 days or so I've started to see shapes, usually geometric and sometimes shooting stars. Usually they are either white or blue against the black background; once they were very odd colored like a piece of bismuth. From here one of two things happens. 1) After a while I start to feel like I'm falling downwards. This last for a short while, the shapes become more defined, then the falling sensation stops and the shapes disappear or greatly fade. 2) I don't feel like I'm falling, or don't remember it, then usually realize I'm dreaming at some point and quickly wake up. Not sure what to do. I'm just trying to get to a point where I can remain conscious during the dream and remember it well, not trying to control anything yet. Thanks for your help.

Beverage can be anything alcoholic: liquor, beer, wine, champagne, sake, liqueur, etc. If you don't have much brand loyalty that's fine, just say so. If you do have a favorite brand, feel free to mention why you like it above the others. Go as in depth as you like. I'm doing this for an excel exercise, so the more information I receive the more I can do. Also, if you don't mind please list your age and gender. If you do mind, that's fine. I completely understand; just leave that unanswered then.

I know they are completely different. I want to try both but can only buy one at this time. Which would you go with? Thanks!

I've had single malt scotch whisky before, and am starting to understand the differences in taste and aroma between the different regions. My favorites are Laphroaig 10 year and Highland Park 12 year. However, I know nothing about blended scotch wisky, and would like to participate on that side of the scotch world as well. Can you suggest a blended scotch that might fit the taste of someone who likes the single malts listed above. Thanks for your help!

Is there anyway to make excel put a number from one cell into a cell on a another sheet, but have the location dependent on the text written in another cell. I am trying to make an accounting type set-up for a class.

At first I feel relaxed, but then I start feeling like I am falling. Some times there is a trapezoid shaped door that appears first, and sometimes there are little white dots that coordinate with the falling sensation. Does this mean anything at all, or is it just part of the process?

For example, when I play Fallout 3 I collect and keep every bottle and package of booze, Nuka-cola, and cigarettes I find in a single box or locker in my room. In Oblivion, I take every book I can and store them in my shack in the Imperial City.

Any genre, any time period. Mine are Layer Cake and Pan's Labyrinth.
