I am trying to write a fictional story based with modern and a bit futuristic technology, so I wanted to see if I could bring the idea of a single solar panel capable of producing 60 kW per hour. I know that nothing exists like this for now, but I wanted to see if, theoretically, it could ever happen. I don't know much about solar panels and I don't know if what I am proposing sounds ridiculous or not. If anyone can help me, it would be appreciated.

I’m writing a story and I think I got some details wrong. In the story, an FBI special agent requested a police department in some South Florida county to arrest a certain individual who is discovered to be a serial killer.

Can an FBI agent do that? Or would FBI agents do the arresting?

I want to write a sort where my main character has a problem.

Giving a scenario, after a long and hard days work of detective work and fighting, most people would end their day going back home to rest, or going to the bar with friends, or even getting a break.

My main character, instead, stays thinking and planning and working on new detective work, not because he wants to or he likes it, but because he needs to. His brain demands to think, and he can’t do anything else but think.

What sort of disorder would this be like? Does such a disorder even exist?

I’ve been thinking about writing a story about two secret societies that battle each other for ideological dominance, and through their secret war they accidentally change the geopolitical map of the world drastically.

But I’m stuck. One topic I quickly want to bring up is how China and Russia are at the brink of a very angry conflict (think of it like the Cold War, but without proxy wars, just a constant fear of one small event that can start a war). But I’ve done my research, and the Chinese-Russian relations are progressing, if anything else, in todays modern times. (Yes, the novel takes place literally three years from now...2018?)

What I am looking for is one event, just one scenario, that I can use as an excuse for saying that the Chinese and the Russians are angry at each other. But I also want to be unique and believable, like something that could really happen. I don’t know if an “assassination” would be so unique. Other than that, I seriously have no other idea.

Can anyone help me come up with a scenario that could cause this?

You find out that a very important ambassador is in danger. Arriving with no more than 3 other team members, you learn from an anonymous source that you have from 5-30 minutes before the diplomat is assassinated. The diplomat, against the wishes of his bodyguards and his own leaders, has joined a rather large protest in order to show sympathy and populist dedication to the people. He is engulfed by the protesters, but is protected by 5 bodyguards.

The anonymous source only tells you that the ambassador will die from a bullet or from a bomb. It could be either one...or maybe both.... You have 5-30 minutes. How would YOU save the diplomat? And keep the civilian casualties low?

(This is a scenario I made up while daydreaming several days ago. I really couldn’t come up with a way of saving the diplomat and the many protesters surrounding him. So I was curious to see if anyone here could come up with a way. YOU DONT HAVE TO MINIMIZE THE CASUALTIES, THE DIPLOMAT IS REALLY THE PRIZE. But reducing the casualties might be good on your resume.)

-Diplomat is in the middle of the place, surrounded by friendly-ish protesters. They like him.

-Diplomat has 5 bodyguards

-You are several yards away from the protesting crowd.

-You have 5-30 minutes to rescue him. It might be 5 minutes...could be 6...could be 15 or 25......you don’t really know....

I’ve been interested in the current talks of inflation and of the multiverse theory, but theres a point which I really don’t understand.

What I think to understand is that the M-Theory, or the string theory (confused with which one) states that the Big Bang occurred with either the collision of two universes, or the division of one universe into two.

Now, I am almost 100% sure that what I said above could be wrong, so I am asking for help. Do any of these theories have anything to do with the collision of two universes or the separation of two universes? If not, is there any theory that includes a topic close to that?

I’m trying to use the info for a sic fi novel I had in mind, in case.

Girls, imagine a guy stranger about your age comes and starts a conversation with you. Just out in random. What do you think will make the random conversation last more than 2 minutes? Is it what he talks about, or how he says it? What do you girls think?

Guys, have you been able to do his sort of thing successfully? What are your secrets? Your plan?

My English professor has given us a project where we are to make a “Propose a Solution” essay with the audience being him. For those who don’t know, I have to compose a short proposal memo requesting approval from him to go ahead with my research on whatever my topic is...problem is...I am finding it difficult to find a topic.

He has not allowed the topics of smoking, abortions, performance enhancing drugs, etc. to be discussed. He said we could choose any problem related to our major. So I wanted to choose one related to premed or medicine.

Problem is I have no knowledge of current event problems in medicine. The only thing I’ve been exposed to is everyone’s complaint on Obamacare.

Can anyone please lead me to the right direction on where to find current problems in the medical field I can use for my essay? I don’t want you guys to assign me a problem, just give me examples or tell me where and how to find them. Thank you.

PS: Yes, I’ve been 3 hours searching Google, Yahoo, and Bing on current issues in medicine. This is why I was desperate enough to come here. Please be easy on me if you wish to criticize me.

Please give me scientific reasons of why or why not. I plan to make a story of a superhero, and I want to make it as real as possible to date.

I’ll be more specific, sorry. Take for example the tesseract from the Avengers, and lets say we somehow tried to put a small sample of the tesseract into a human being to see if the person could "harness” it, in a way. Would that be possible?

I can’t draw for crap. I’m writing a novel and it involves a man from one period of history being warped to the modern 21st Century. I need help imagining how his future self would look like. Can anyone help me?

I saw it once in COD 4, where they mark vehicles as friendlies and the aircraft sees a strobing light on the vehicle, marking it as a friendly. Do those exist in real life? Does the military have a device that allows the Air Force to know which vehicles are friendly and which are not?

I'm writting this military story, and I want to be as realistic as possible. In one part of the story, the sniper who is on a mountain sniping, gets his left hand broken after getting his left hand broken by a falling rock after a nearby explosion. Now, his trigger finger is in his right hand. I want to be realistic, so by military experience and training, what would he be able to do and not to do?

Like, would he be able to shoot? I know he could shoot a pistol with his right hand, but could he grasp the pain and shoot his sniper?

And would he be fit to continue the mission, or would the broken hand leave him out of the game?

And finally, if you were that sniper, what would you do if your hand was broken and the enemy was coming after you?

I have an amazing plot, but the problem is that I cant write. I am a very beginner, so any attempt to publish it would be futile. I write as a hobby, but I would at least like to get credit for it once. And its not like I wanna be a famous writer or anything, its just that I want it to get noticed.

But anyways, back to the case, is there anything like this, where I can give my ideas and someone can write it? I dont know if something like that exists or not. But can anyone tell me if it does, and how does it work?

The world is really close to Peak Oil, and it looks like if the US doesnt even care about that. The US is suffering an economic depression, and an oil shortage could just destroy its economy for good. Not only that, but the US depends on Saudi Arabia for most of its oil. But with tensions in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia can easily go through one of those Arab Spring revolutions that can change the government from a pro-US absolute monarchy to one that is not so friendly to us. So with all the bad scenarios that are showing up with oil, when will the US decide to move away from oil? When will the US start investing and relying on renewable energy or even nuclear energy instead of oil?

Im making a story, and I want my characters to have their own life quotes, something that helps them to move forward when they are lost. These are the characters:

1)-Is a Mercenary who is forced to work for an organization to get enough money for him and his wife. His life is for his wife, he loves her more than his life, and would go through hell and back only for his wife.

2)-Is a pilot who only wants a life of peace and quiet. He believes in chivalry and in good no matter what happens, but when his friends are in trouble, he wont hesitate to fight.

3)-Is a man who only believes in hope. His heart is full of pain and hurt due to many people breaking his heart, and he stands for no one. He finds sympathy for the poor and he is loyal to his friends. He hates women, since they are the most who have broken his heart. The difference between him and #2 is that #3 no longer believes in chivalry.

4)-A man who once believed in order and his country, but after his eyes are opened, he is completely lost. With the help of his friends, he is able to stand back up, but he no longer knows himself.

Any quotes or poetry anyone would like to make for them? I ask this as a favor.
