  • My betta's are spawning like RIGHT NOW??? PLEASE HELP ME, MY FEMALE IS ALL TORN UP!!!?

Hey, I really need some help, I have a 16 gallon fish tank, it's got 4 male guppies, 1 female betta and 1 male betta. I had 6 females, but I moved them all into my 55 gallon tank since I found out one was a male, and they got kinda stressed in my tank, but one female in my 55 gallon tank was really low, and I ran out out fish food so I was feeding like frozen food, anyway I moved her into my 16 gallon because she had no color at all, and today when I got in from school, she's all torn up. But the strange thing is, she has stripes going up on her body, she has a huge white spot on her belly and the stripes are really dark!! She's all torn up, so I put her in a breeder trap, I go to check her and she's gone?? I see her back with the male, and they were dancing with each other. I knew they was mating because I did research before I got the females a couple months ago, they dance for a couple seconds, then he chases her away and bites her. He's still making a bubble nest and it's huge! What should I do? Should I separate her again or leave them be? Also, I will make a video if anyone wants to see what their doing. Also, I have no live food, so will I be able to feed them crushed flakes once they are able to eat foods, I also have no filters apart from a home made sponge filter, and I only have a 4 gallon long tank, a 5 gallon tank and a normal 4 gallon. I have one spare heater, but no extra live plants or air pumps! Also, I know a lot betta breeding, so I don't need any tips really. Just need help what I should do now!

    Thank you!

    Thanks!

  • Cycling my 5.5 gallon tank for my tadpoles?

Hi, today I'm going to set up my tank, I'm going to make a filter like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rj1Glx5anfM I'm just wondering if it will be too strong? I'm only using a 500ml bottle, maybe even 250ml. So I know how to do the filter, and how to cycle the tank, I'm still deciding to put in river gravel or not... There will be live plants in there and I'll probably be doing weekly water changes. How long should I cycle it for? I'm not using rain water, I'm using de chlorinated water. Should I cycle it for a week? Or a little longer, because I've not found the tadpoles yet, and I might not for a while!

    Thanks!

  • Crossing mollies, with guppies can it be done?

My friend has crossed a male silver molly with female guppies, the fry are about 10 weeks old, do you think I could do it with male guppies and a female molly? They are like miniature mollies with different colored tails! My tank is 16 gallons and I have 5 fancy male guppies

  • Getting another baby Whites tree frog?

Okay, so I've got a female whites tree frog for who is about 2 years old, she lives in a 33 gallon terrarium, with an exo terra waterfall, fogger, vines and branches. For about about 6 months I've been trying to find another, I've found loads, but they all live to far away from me and my mum won't take me. So guess what? Today, I've reserved one. My female is about 4", and the little one I'm getting to one the size of my thumb nail, it just turned into a frog! So I can't keep them together, obviously. So I need to set up her terrarium. So will it be okay in a 5 gallon tank, with some vines a water bowl and one hanging plant? I can't get a heat lamp because the tank is plastic, so should I get a heat mat? Or should I just use nothing? Thanks!

  • What causes headaches, intense pain under my eyes and makes me vomit, it's regular?

Hi Yahoo answers, I am 13, (I am in 2 days anyway, shhh!) Since I've been about 6, I've had very bad headaches, they aren't even just headaches. I get a very very bad pain under my eyes, and a painful head. Sometimes it makes me vomit because of it. I get these headaches for no reason sometimes, or some times if I smell or eat/drink: Black current juice, Uncle Ben's rice, and some herbs. It makes me so so ill, I normally sleep it off but it irritates me it keeps coming back and it hurts so badly :\

I've had my eyes checked and they are fine, but I don't know what causes the pains. I'm going to the doctors finally (after like 7 years-.-) but if I have an idea what could be causing it that would be good. Oh and it happens AT LEAST once a week.

    Thanks in advance!

Also, if you know any ways of getting rid of the pain from the headache quickly that would be great! Apart from sleeping though!

  • Stocking my 20 litre nano aquarium?

Hi, I have a question about stocking aquarium.

My fish tank is planted with hairgrass and dwarf riccia, there is three rocks in there too. It's taken me eight months, yes eight months to cover the aquarium floor with the dwarf riccia, and for the grass to spread along the back of the tank. I've decided to add some small fish. I'd like to stock it with:

    -Danio margaritatus (4x)

    -Neocaridina Heteropoda var. Red (3x)

    -Heterandria formosa (2x)

    -Corydoras habrosus (1x)

Is this over stocking? If it is, could you please give me some suggestions for the stocking, nano fish only please.

    Thanks in advance.

I want to buy this female betta, because she's really pretty and for only $15 with postage she's pretty cheap. Does she look healthy? Would she make a good mate for my male? http://www.bettaakapes.siam108site.com/HTML%20Prod...

  • Why is the dominant female betta the prettiest?

Hi, I got six females a couple days ago. Why is the dominant female the brightest color? The lower ranking females are starting to get more colorful, but why is she the prettiest? Also, she's bright red all over. Here's a video I took of them yesterday:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFVh9FpFknU

Also, what kinds of food should I feed them to get them ready for spawning, my male is making bubble nests and I need to get the females ready, I've been feeding them frozen foods and they're normal foods. Will be using a 5 gallon tank for the fry.

  • Are my triops dying? Or just waking up from the cold?

Hi, my triops are 3 days old today, and my dad found out I had them in my room, luckily the 60w basking lamp was off, so he didn't see that. All triops were doing fine, there was about 10. I checked them when I woke up, turned on the basking lamp and then I couldn't see any. About 15 minutes after when I had a shower, I saw 6. They wasn't moving that much but two were active. Are they dying because they're on the floor trying to move? The temp has been 24-26 degrees 24 hours a day, yesterday it was only on 16 hours. Hopefully they won't die!;D

Also, can I add a filter once they grow up? I have a 25L fish tank filter, they are in a 21 litre though, will that be okay?

  • My male betta is flaring at the females?

In my 16 gallon heavily planted tank my male betta Chalky is flaring at the six females. They are scared of him and they swim into the plants. He's not nipping them or biting them, he's flaring. The females are starting to fight to see who's top dog but every now and again Chalky is flaring at them? He's not bothering them too much but if I condition all of them on live/frozen food do you think maybe they'll breed? I have three spare tanks, a 5 gallon, a 4 gallon long and a 2.5 gallon. Also just to make it clear, the male is not hurting the females what so ever, he's very placid and used to be kept with a colony of endler guppies (males and females)

    Thanks in advance.

  • Stocking 16 gallon tank?

Hi, I've got a heater filter and all that. The tank has c02 and heavily planted with live plants. Been set up for over a year. Plants are really healthy and I only have my betta, golden nugget pleco, 3 neon tetra's and a ghost shrimp in there at the moment. Was thinking of adding:

    One male guppy.

    Three female platys.

    Two more Neon tetra.

    Thank you for your help!

  • I've lost my Whites Tree Frog? HELP URGENT!?

Hi all, I really need your help guys!

I lost my Whites tree frog. I was cleaning out her terrarium and I put her into a little tank without a lid. She was sitting on some leaves but then I looked over to put her back in... She's gone! I've look everywhere on the 3rd floor, I don't think she's hopped down to the 1st or 2nd floor. I flushed the toilet in case she was in there and it flushed and went " bummm " now when ever I run the sink you can hear it through the toilet, which I don't know if it did that before. Anyway, I've put down her basking lamp, some vines and leaves a water dish and some crickets. How long will she live in the house? If you know where she MIGHT be that would be so helpful. Tomorrow I was going to get her a friend but if I can't find her my dad said I can't get another!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP ME! I love my frog :(

  • Help on hatching/raising triops?

Getting some triops, I know they get about two inches, I've got a 5 gallon tank for them, I've got a heater I will be using when they get older (It's a spare fish tank one) and I've got loads of live plants I could spare for them. Can get sand for the bottom, but when I first hatch them, should I add about a gallon of water? Leave it for a day or so, then add the eggs? Also, once they've laid the eggs and died. What do you do with the eggs? Will they just hatch in the water?

    Thanks

  • Will my hamster be pregnant?

On Saturday I got a male white faced robo to breed from eventually, flipped it over yesterday and it's a girl, the man and I sexed two of the other robo's in the cage, both males. I have three out of seven babies left, all are six weeks old now, Cloud is bigger than them, but I wouldn't say she's over eight weeks, but if she's been in with males, what are the chances she's pregnant? You can see two of her teets but I don't think she is, I don't think she's over eight weeks so I think she could have got pregnant yet!

    Thanks for your help!

  • Is this cage suitable for a single Roborovski hamster?

Hi, yesterday I got a male white faced Roborovski hamster. My three females are currently in Cambridge, and will be moving into hamster heaven. But since I've sold three of my cages, I've only got a " bin cage " left. It's about 20 gallons, maybe more. It's bigger than my fish tank anyway and that's 16 gallons. So I'd like to get my male a nice new cage, I really like this cage: http://www.petscorner.co.uk/small-animal/homes/fer...

It looks pretty easy to clean out, quite big and there's room for some toys.

Cage dimensions: 55 x 47 x 37cm. Although it says you can keep four dwarfs in there, I don't think it could. Well, what do you think of that cage?

    Thanks in advance.
