  • Songs about not letting life's circumstances change you?

I'm a senior in college and my acappella group has a tradition where graduating seniors get to choose a song to sing during their last concert. I'm looking for a song about not letting life's heartbreaks and disappointments, and on the flip side life's great achievements and successes, change who you are fundamentally. Suggestions?

Right now the one that comes to mind is "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, which would also be appropriate since I'm a big Sinatra fan. I have the vocal range for it, but idk if I have the "swag" to pull it off haha.

  • Vibration in car/steering wheel at high speeds?

I spun out in slippery conditions recently, hopped a curb and wound up against a muddy embankment. Now my car shakes and vibrates at higher speeds (ie 60+ mph), I can see it vibrating in the corners of the hood or my window when it's rolled down. Mainly I see/feel it in the steering wheel, which has a pretty major vibration.

I've heard it could be anything from major problems like bent axle, crushed bearings, or bent wheels, to simple problems like alignment or a broken off wheel balancing weight. Also there's still a good amount of hardened mud caked onto the left rear wheel and undercarriage from the muddy embankment I hit, and I've heard that can also cause unbalanced wheels and shaking/vibration. Any thoughts on what it might be? What things should I check, and in what order?

  • Guy on C-List sold me a car with that doesn't match VIN on title?

So maybe I'm an idiot for buying a used car privately on Craigslist, and I'm definitely an idiot for not looking at the VIN's more closely, but anyway here's the deal. I bought a car from a guy, it's out of state so I drove over and took a look at the car, paid him and he gave me the title, and I brought the title back home to get a temp registration so I can drive the car back. Problem is while filling out paperwork for the registration I looked more closely at the title and realized it doesn't quite match up. The make and model are the same, but the year and color are different for the VIN on the title. So either he lied when he got the title for the car, or he gave me a different title. The title is in his name, so I don't think it's stolen. Maybe the car is stolen? But that would still mean he gave me a title to a car he owns, right? There's a small chance he might own both cars and he just accidentally gave me the wrong title, or maybe the title was messed up when he bought it. Anyway what should I do? He has the money and the car right now, since I can't legally get the car back to my state and registered until I get this problem ironed-out; am I screwed out of both? How should I confront him about it? I'm supposed to pick up the car on Sunday, so I'd have to wait until then if I wanted to talk to him face-to-face or see the car again to check the VIN's on the door and dash (since it's a long drive for me). Should I talk to the DMV or the police? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Do you have to get insurance to have a license?

When I took driver's ed, my instructor said I should get my license as soon as possible after finishing the course. I told him that I couldn't afford insurance, and he said I don't need to have insurance as long as I don't drive my parent's cars (since I would be covered under my parents' policy if I had insurance. He said I can drive a friend's car or other family members' cars, since I'd be covered under their policy). So I got my license and I haven't driven since then. I'm fine with that, I just wanted to make sure I get my license, and I'll wait until I can afford insurance when (and if) I get a better job. Two weeks later my parents' insurance company called and said I need to be insured, even though I'm not driving. Can anyone tell me the law regarding this (I'm a resident of CT), and is it possible that the insurance company (Amica) requires this even though the law doesn't? If I do have to get insurance, I'd probably have to turn in my license, since I still can't afford it. Is there any possible way I can keep my license without getting insured?
