I have a hard time eating over 1000 calories a day. Should I force myself to eat at least 1200 calories even if I'm full?
I am currently recovering from I guess you could say an eating disorder. I was eating less than 500 calories a day, aiming for around 300 for about 8 weeks. I'm 5'7 and 147lbs.. I have an athletic build and have lost around 45lbs in 8 months. My goal weight was 142-145 but I've realized I want to heal my body and restart my metabolism and lose the weight at a healthier way (1-2lbs a week) I work out 5-6 times a week, strength training and cardio, burning around 400-600 calories. I've been trying to eat more to get my body and metabolism readjusted, I know I'm going to gain weight initially but I'm sure once my metabolism recovers that weight will go back down slowly. I ate 1000 calories today and I feel full and satisfied and I'm wondering if i should force the extra 200 to get to the bare suggested calorie intake. Or just slowly get there! Any advice or personal experience with this same trouble would be great! Its a hard recovery but I want to recover more than anything without gaining all that weight back.
