So a couple of months ago, somebody had me baker acted by law enforcement suspecting that I was depressed and might cause harm to myself even though I really wasn t. I got there at night and was discharged by the doctor the following afternoon because he could tell that I was functional and didn t need to be there; overall, I was in the observation place for less than 24 hours, no medication or anything.

Would I still be able to buy a firearm in the future in my state (FL, and I m 22)? I ve read the questions on the ATF form; I m certain that I wasn t deemed mentally defective as I ve never even been in a courtroom and I didn t have to go for any treatment.

I don't get to see her a lot because she transferred to a college 100 miles away, but we would talk frequently on the phone and via Facebook daily. Lately though, it seems that I'll message her and she won't answer. She doesn't really at all; she will click on the message icon and see it's from me and ignores it. She deletes any comments of mine on her posts. She never answers her phone if I call. She's always called me like her big brother, but this seriously hurts now. What would you recommend I do?

I did use to have feelings for her for a long time, but they've been gone for a couple of months. She also never really minded that I did, so this may be irrelevant. I just thought it might be necessary to add.

I asked a question like this, maybe a couple of months ago, but I just really need more help. To keep it short, I fell in love with my best friend three years ago. No matter how much I've tried, I can't fall out. She's basically made it clear that I'm not good enough, to which I agree. But I can't get past loving her, and as much as I value her happiness but simultaneously would do anything to be with her, all of the depression which accompanies it continues to linger.

Should I just walk away? If not, is there any tried and true way to lose these feelings? I'm 21 and romance/dating is a concept which is still new to me.

I'm sorry; I promise I'll try and keep this short as I can. I just really need advice.

There's a girl that I've been in love with for three years. She's basically the greatest friend I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. To put it short, she's never really been in interested in going on a date or anything of that nature, and I can respect that. It's her choice, you know? And I can honestly say I value her happiness over my own, which is why I feel bad about being in love with her, by itself. However, I struggle with clinical depression that gets set off at the slightest thing, so I keep feeling like I want to just off myself right now (though I promise I won't resort to that).

She recently just transferred to a college about one hundred miles away, and she's insisted to me that she never plans to get married, and I definitely do hope to be married someday. But I don't even care about the obstacles. I'll seriously drop anything.

I don't want to drag this out more for you all. So I suppose my question is, should I just give up? If so, how? Should I keep following my heart and hoping she'll change her mind? Or, even though she's one of my few actual friends and I'm one of hers, should I just leave her altogether? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much.

And if it helps, I'm a college student in my early 20's.

Anything up to the end of the Civil War, though I'm not too interested in writing about the war itself. I'm considering writing about the factors that led up to it, though.

Now I'm not that ignorant on the matter. I understand the left and right wing policies and beliefs, fiscal conservatism and liberalism, and whatnot.

I'm simply confused on how one can be a Conservative Democrat, or a Liberal Republican, (I'm Liberal, and am subsequently a registered Democrat). For instance, I've always thought the Democratic party was center-left, and so on. I've always thought of the main difference between the parties as Republicans maintain a more, "do-it-yourself, individual responsibility" attitude, whereas Democrats are more about society and community as a whole.

My question would be is there anything, outside of usual ideology, that really separates the two parties?
