I will be attempting to do a double grading, performing the first kata, Heian Shodan. Does anybody have any advice for me?

I'm doing a sculpture that must include a kinetic element of some kind (it needs to move/be able to move). Does anybody have any ideas? I'd also like to do something with mirrors/illusions in this sculpture.

Is there such a thing as a shiny, dark metal that jewelry can be made out of (specifically rings)? Not quite black, but very dark and very luminous. Some kind of coating would be less than ideal, as it would probably result in a more fragile piece. Thanks.

I'm doing a series of drawings in a tracing paper notebook (experimenting with layering), but my paper keeps curling. Is there any way I can stop this from happening/fix it afterwards? It doesn't seem to make a different if I try to flatten the notebook although maybe I'm just not using a heavy enough weight.

I have a 1TB external hard drive, and I'm planning on partitioning it in two so that one can be used for Time Machine backups and the other can be used just to store files. My internal hard drive is 320GB, with 77GB currently used (243 free). How much space should I allow Time Machine to use on backups? I'd like to keep as much space as possible for files, but I don't want to take away from the usefulness of Time Machine.

I got a My Book Elite 1TB external hard drive for Christmas, which I intend to use with my Macbook Pro (running OS X Snow Leopard). When I first connected it everything seemed to be going fine, but I have few questions.

First, I decided to use the hard drive as my storage device for Time Machine backups. However when I did this, it renamed the device "Time Machine Backups", and it seems like it's going to keep backing up until my entire drive is full... I wanted to also store some files on the harddrive. Is there a way that I can designate a set amount of space that Time Machine can use for backups and still keep the majority of it for files? Secondly, how do I move files onto the hard drive? Seems like a dumb question but I can't really figure it out.

I'd really like to get the most out of this nice new gift, and any help would be much appreciated.

I've just recently become seriously interested in the Classical genre and I absolutely love Beethoven's "Piano Sonata No. 14 in C♯ minor", or "Moonlight Sonata". The haunting mellowness to the keys speak to me of nostalgia and melancholy. Could anybody recommend pieces with a similar "sad" feel to them? Not necessarily by Beethoven, of course. In Thomas Harris' novel, the character Francis Dolarhyde is obsessed with the William Blake painting entitled "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed with the Sun". However, in the 2006 film adaptation of the same title, the painting is suddenly changed to "The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed IN Sun". Same series of watercolour paintings, but I find this sudden change very odd since it's not mentioned ANYWHERE. In fact, the Wikipedia page on the Red Dragon novel lists the painting as being the same as the novel. I'm very confused, did Thomas Harris make an error? Or is Wikipedia wrong and the director of the movie conclude that "In Sun" would look better than "By The Sun"? The way Harris describes Dolarhyde's tattoo in the book sounds more like "In Sun" to me...

I think it's Photoshop, but I can't really tell. At certain points is seems like he's using a curved line tool, which I'm pretty sure doesn't exist in Photoshop (on a side note, does anybody know a program that does, besides MS Paint?). That or he's just freehanding it with a drawing tablet or something.

If I had an account on one computer using Firefox as a browser and a second account on a DIFFERENT computer using Safari as a browser, but both computers shared the same connection, would an admin be able to tell that both accounts were mine?
