No longer feeling pregnant?
I'm 38+4 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden I don't feel pregnant anymore, all my cravings have disappeared and all the things I have gone off of during pregnancy now seem appealing all this is overnight.
Apart from the apparent bump and aches I wouldn't even say I am pregnant, anyone have any experience of this?
3 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoTMI Can you feel your babies head?
Sorry this is a bit TMI but if you have/ or give yourself an internal examination can you feel the babies head?
If you can what does it mean, I am 35+5 weeks pregnant and both me and my husband can feel the head inside me, does this mean the baby is engaged or maybe something more?
I have been getting pains on and off for 4 days but nothing major so don't really want to go to hospital for something that maybe completely normal.
4 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoPet insurance pay vets direct?
I am looking at insurance companies for my puppy and have seen a few saying they pay the vets direct (obviously less the excess) does this mean I only have to pay the excess and not the full amount and then when the claim is made the insurance pay the rest? I'm really confused as other companies I know you have to pay the vets the total amount then claim the money back (less the excess), Can anyone help explain this?
Ps I know some people don't see the point of insurance and just save the money aside each month, this isn't a question asking whether to bother insuring or not, thank you x
6 AnswersOther - Pets1 decade agoWhy do people always assume?
Why do people always assume if a dog is free to a good home that there is something wrong with it?
I have seen it a lot on this site "oh it must have a medical issue etc" or if someone asks for one for free then they obviously cant afford veterinary treatment if and when needed.
I had placed an advert on a website looking to re-home a puppy or dog but I couldn't afford to pay alot out for one, this is due to the fact that I don't believe in paying a ridiculous amount for a dog when I am going to be paying out for the jabs, food, bedding etc, I would rather save that money for emergencies.
I actually did get offered my puppy for free, I got a 16 week old JRT cross, which was offered to me because I could offer the best home not the most money, he is completely healthy (I had a vet check done yesterday) the previous owner rescued the puppy from bad circumstances and he had mange which she had paid for the treatment but due to her impending arrival of a little baby she couldn't keep him,she had even bought him a new bed, collar and lead, food bowls and toys to come with him.
I have a savings account for vets bills and have the time to dedicate to training and looking after him as I am a stay at home mum.
Personally I think that people expect a lot of money for a dog or puppy that if they couldn't find a home for would end up in a rescue centre anyway, does anyone else agree with me or is it a case of too many people assume free to a good home means a bad home?
11 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow to stop dog barking?
We have a 16 week old JRT X puppy and he is absolutely perfect EXCEPT whenever we leave the house he will bark the entire duration we are out.
We tried doing it gradually going out for 5 Min's then increasing the time slowly but it has made no difference, We leave him with the radio on and with his toys, we also give him a piece of meat on the bone when we leave to keep him occupied but it makes no difference, we are at wits end please can someone suggest something?
7 AnswersDogs1 decade agoOpinions needed please?
Now I know eavesdroppers never hear anything good about themselves but I'm so annoyed by my next door neighbour right now...
Basically I got a puppy the other day he is 16 weeks old and really friendly and playful, I also have two cats of my own who although they don't particularly like the pup it is getting on ok, However I also about 3mths ok started looking after a white stray cat who had kittens in my shed, she was an obvious stray so I called the cats protection league but due to lack of space free they re homed the kittens and spayed mum but released her back into my garden and I agreed to feed her and keep an eye on her but refused to adopt her as I never wanted another cat, ANYWAY she hates my two cats and attacked one last week and the other night she literally lunged at my puppy in my house as she let herself in and when my husband tried to remove her she went for him, she isn't a friendly cat at all but is ok with humans to an extent.
I have phoned the cats protection league back up as I felt this was the final straw, I have two young children and a baby on the way and I am now worried about her going for them and I cant let my pup in the garden for fear of her attacking again, I have asked them to take her and I am waiting to hear back.
Now I just heard my neighbours son ask his mum something about the cat and she replied that I was getting rid of her because I now have a puppy and don't care about the cat anymore which is so untrue I do but like I say she was never my cat, she also said the cat isn't nasty just wants some attention, she just made me out to be so uncaring and horrible, we have low fences and I see and speak to her everyday and she is really friendly but now I hear her talking about me like this, I'm quite upset I don't know whether I should say anything to her about it or not? I don't know if I am doing the right thing about getting her taken away (the cat is also deaf so don't want to just abandon her for her safety)?
Any opinions please?
4 AnswersCats1 decade agowhat to do with vicious cat?
I have had a stray cat staying in my garden for around 3months after she had kittens in my shed, the local cats protection got her spayed but released her back in my garden,so she could find her way, I later discovered she is deaf and she wont leave.
she is relatively human friendly but she keeps attacking my own 2 cats and my puppy, she will stand in my garden and lunge at my puppy whenever he goes out, last night she really hurt him to the point he needed vet treatment.
She is still out there now and I can't let my puppy out because she won't move and my own two cats are two scared to come indoors as she is blocking the entry.
I phoned the cats protection to see if they would come and take her but I got told all our local fosters are full, don't drive so I cannot take the cat to a rescue centre.
I have two young sons also who cant enjoy the garden while she is here, but I cant just ditch her somewhere as 1: she is deaf 2: I live on a main road and 3: it's cruel.
What can I do?
7 AnswersCats1 decade agoCan my child have goats milk?
My MIL has given my eldest son who is 2 years old goats milk which I brought my cats but because it has a blue top she never checked the label, it went out of date yesterday!!! Can this do any harm? he seems fine in himself, maybe I'm just worrying over nothing and annoyed because this isn't the first time she "accidently" has messed up or undermined me so feelings are running high!!
8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler1 decade ago15 weeks and bleeding?
Hi I am 15 weeks and have already been in hospital for heavy bleeding which was caused by a clot but that stopped 2 weeks ago.
Now today my toddler kicked me in the abdomen (during a tantrum over getting dressed) and I have now started bleeding again but the blood is old blood by the looks of it as it is brown not red, do I need to callt the midwife and get it checked out or could it wait until I see my midwife next week?
I also have back pain and my tummy is aching but not hurting.
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agolost my bump? (20 characters)?
I have asked a couple of questions about me possibly miscarrying but yesterday I woke up and my bump had gone down a lot in size and I was told by ananswerer it does do that in the mornings but it stayed like that too then today its even smaller, I have been bleeding heavily since wednesday and have had a couple of small clots, does this mean I'm no longer pregnant if I have no bump at all?
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoPossible miscarriage (asking again)?
I went to the hospital yesterday for first scan, and I ended up having to have two scans (ones was a second opinion) because they have seen I have a blood clot around the sac which is unusual this far along (Im 12 weeks + 4 days) but the baby was active and had a good heartbeat as soon as my scans were over I started bleeding heavily (bright red blood) but had no clots so they sent me home and told me to wait and see what happens saying that it could be the beginning of a miscarriage, I bleed heavily until I went to bed then it has slowed down but not completely stopped and this morning my bump (which was a little obvious for 3 months as it is my 3rd baby) has gone down as in it's not a big as usual, I don't know what to do now and would like some opinions from people who have been through similar as to whether or not I could have lost the baby without noticeably losing clots?
Update I have started bleeding heavily again tonight and I think I may of passed some clots (very very small like the size of an ant) I tried ringing the early pregnancy unit but they closed at 4pm so I have to wait until tomorrow, but I just want peoples opinions on whether I am miscarrying or not?

Also I am still getting really bad cramps but as Im not bleeding as badly should I wait or ring the midwife?
7 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoMiscarriage or early period? TMI?
I came off my period on the 15th of January and had sex on the 19th of January, now this morning I have woken up covered in blood (more then usual for a period) and with really bad stomach ache, now discussing with my husband I am not due on yet but I took a pregnancy test 2 days ago (13 days after sex) and it was negative, has anyone have any ideas to what is happening?
4 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agounsupportive parents who is being out of order?
Hi, I have been rowing with my mother and MIL all week as my husband and I have decided to try for another baby in the new year, We already have a 17mth old and a 6mth old, we want our kids close together so they will grow up together, but my parents say they will not support our decision as I am too young to cope in their opinion (Im 21yrs) and they believe that no one should have more then 2 children per family.
Am I mad to want another baby?
11 AnswersTrying to Conceive1 decade agothree babies in three years am I mad?
Hi all,
I am 21 and I have two boys already aged 15 mths and 4mths, I think having them so close together is great and I think I am coping brilliantly, Now I am thinking of having a third but I am just worried about any physical damage to myself having them so close.
So have any of you mummies been through this or have any opinions on it?
Thank you x
5 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoFluoxetine (prozac) and sleep?
Hi I have had my dose put up from 20mg/daily to 40mg/daily by my doctor, however I took them this morning and within 1 hour I was so drowsy I was unable to care for my children and had to go back to bed where I stayed nearly all day sleeping.
I usually sleep around 8hours a night disturbed by horrific nightmares and I wonder if the sleepiness and the nightmares are being caused by the drug?
Also if it is the drug making me so sleepy would it be better to take them in the evenings instead?
Thank you x
8 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoWhat is the average lifespan of a dog?
Hi
I got given two female dogs yesterday, one is a beagle X staff and is 9years old and the other is a staff X springer spaniel and she is 15, now they are still really playful and healthy and they are perfect for me as they are fantastic with children / cats / dogs etc but everyone keeps saying that because of their ages it is going to cost me a fortune in vet fees as they will sonn detiorate and die because of old age.
So how long do dogs on average live for?
13 AnswersDogs1 decade agoGood child or good parenting?
Just a quick question due to curiosity, if you have a happy contented child ( the sort that happily entertains themselves, rarely has tantrums etc) is that just the child's nature or because of good parenting?
7 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade agoWhat a horrible night but now what?
Ok mummies I have had a horrible night and day, my hubby gave me a night off last night and looked after our babies and I had expressed enough milk to last until 9pm tonight so I could have a few drinks, great or so I thought, anyway I went out with a few girls and ended up in hospital at about 2am as my drink got spiked by what the toxicologist reckoned was about 1/2 gram of cocaine, anyway when I left the hospital this afternoon it suddenly occurred to me about my breast-feeding, I can't get hold of the doctor so I was wondering if anyone knew when it would be ok for me to feed again?
I don't want to pass any on to my baby, but I am worried about the baby forgetting how to latch if I leave it to long.
14 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoIs this worth it (Breastfeeding Q not debate)?
Hi I had my son 7weeks ago and have been breastfeeding, however he will feed for about 20Min's from each breast and empty them both but even after winding him changing him etc he still wants more I am at a lose of what to do so I try putting him back on my breast but he sucks for a couple of minutes and un latch's, so out of desperation I have been offering him a bottle of formula 5oz uk which he will drink all of then he will settle down and go to sleep.
My question is is it worth breast-feeding him as even if he just has formula no breast-feeding he settles fine?
Please no rude answers I feel bad enough as it doesn't seem to me that he is satisfied on my milk.
