  • Final Four Games?

Random question, but it's on my mind as I'm watching the final four games... How do tickets for the two games work? It appears as if there is only one court being used, so do fans from the first game leave as fans for the second game come in? I was just thinking about how, if this is the case, parking has to be a nightmare for all the tens of thousands of people looking to park as the first game is still going on...

Yep, my mind's just overthinking this as I'm waiting for the second game to start...

  • Traveling from Paris to Northern France?

I am planning a trip to Paris next year and would like to take some time to travel to northern France to see a few sights. On my list so far are Giverny/Monet's waterlily garden, Normandy D-Day beaches, and Mont St. Michel.

Does anyone have tips for making this happen? I'm curious about the train/TGV system, how many much time I should allow to see these sights (1-2 days?), and local hotels if possible.

    Thanks so much :)

  • iPad vs. Netbook - Pros and Cons?

I currently have a laptop but would like to add either a netbook or an iPad as a supplement due to the smaller size and the ability to tote each around a little easier. I would like to use it for work and entertainment purposes (i.e., games), but I am curious to know the pros and cons of each.

I understand iPads do not have Microsoft Office programs on them... is it possible to install them and use them as easily as on a computer?

  • Using iPhone Internationally?

I am planning on traveling next week to Australia and need some more info on using my phone. I have an iPhone 3GS through AT&T, and primarily plan to use wi-fi when I'm there. I spoke with an online rep, who assured me I could use wi-fi wherever I can get a signal without having to make any adjustments.

I don't plan to get a data or voice plan for international use, as I won't make any phone calls, send any texts, or use any data (without wi-fi).

So my question is... when I land and have wi-fi access at the airport, am I good to go with logging online? How do I ensure my phone doesn't incur any other charges?

And of course, would I be better off getting an international calling plan to be on the safe side? Any input would be fabulous... thank you!

  • LAX to Sydney Flight?

Flying from LAX to Sydney soon and have a few questions.

    1) Which side of the plane is best for a good view of the Sydney Harbor area... both for arriving in Sydney and departing? I think right now my seats are on the left side of the plane for both flights, but wanted to check in case I might want to change them.

    2) Has anyone experienced the customs/immigration process in LAX and SYD? I'm not too concerned about connecting flight times, as SYD is my final arrival destination and I have a 6-hour layover at LAX returning. I'm just curious about what to expect. I arrive early AM for both places.

    3) Any tips/suggestions? I've flown across the Atlantic before on a 9.5 hour flight, but this will be my longest. Any tips to make the flight better or to make the airport experience less stressful? Any info would be wonderful... thanks in advance!

  • What is life like in the panhandle of Alaska?

I spent a few years of my childhood in Anchorage, Alaska, and have always wanted to return. I will finish grad school in July and am in the (very) early stages of looking at places to move to. I've found a few jobs in places like Juneau and Petersburg in the panhandle of Alaska, and I assume life in those towns is vastly different from life in Anchorage. Anyone wish to share their experiences? Also moving from the Lower 48 as a single gal... is it better to sell everything that won't fit in my car, or U-haul it up the ALCAN?

Anything anyone has to share would be fantastic :) Thanks!

  • Extended Warranty for 2010 Toyota Yaris?

I will be purchasing a new 2010 Toyota Yaris sedan on Tuesday and am arguing with someone over whether or not to get an extended warranty. It has a radio and air conditioning, but no power packages or sports packages (no power locks, etc.). The standard is 3 years/36000 miles, plus I get free oil changes and tire rotations for the first two years. Does anyone have any experience with these vehicles and can provide some feedback? Thank you!

  • Nissan Versa Feedback?

I am looking at getting either a Ford Fiesta or Nissan Versa next month. I am getting ready to start graduate school and work for a non-profit organization, so price will definitely be an issue at the top of my list. This is the main reason I am leaning towards getting a Versa. First, for those who have experience with this vehicle, what are the pros and cons in your eye? Also, I've noticed some don't come with a radio installed. How difficult is it to go somewhere like Best Buy and have one installed? I am fine without the other bells and whistles, like power locks and doors, but will need to have a radio to maintain my sanity during my twice-weekly commutes :) Any other feedback would be greatly appreciated!

  • Help with translating to Spanish...?

I am getting ready to make a call to Spain and need some help with translating. I know the dialects are different, but I just need to know enough to get me through. I have no Spanish speaking skills (other than uno, dos, tres... ha ha), so a rough pronunciation would be fantastic. My sister in in the hospital, so I was wanting to say something like (the name is fake) "May I have Sally's room, please." Or "May I be connected to a patient's room?" Or whatever would be the best way to say that.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330?

I am looking at upgrading my phone to a Blackberry Curve 8330. I've never had more than a basic phone, so I'm curious as to how the Blackberry works with things like email. Do you typically have to include unlimited internet access with your calling plan? Does it automatically forward emails from, for example, an AOL account - or do you have to get another email account that is compatible with the Blackberry?

If anyone has additional information on this phone, please share!

  • Help with Spyware on Computer?

I have a message popping up from the toolbar on the lower right of my screen. It says:

Your computer is infected! Windows has detected Spyware infection! It is recommended you use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up to date antispyware for you.

Click here to protect your computer from spyware.

This happened a while back and I downloaded software (like the dumm I was) and basically paid $50 for nothing. I ran Mcafee and it didn't find any infected files. So my question is this - how do I find out if this is really spyware, and if it is/isn't, how do I get rid of this balloon that keeps popping up?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Cheek Pain with Wisdom Teeth Extraction?

I had my wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. Last night (early Friday morning), I woke up with a sharp pain in my cheek. It wasn't really around the area of my gums where the teeth were pulled, but in my actual cheek. It wasn't *severe*, but it was bad enough I took a pain pill. That cheek now appears to be slightly more swollen than my other cheek, and the whole area seems to hurt just a little more than the other. Any ideas what this may be? I don't have any foul odor or taste in my mouth, and no radiating pain to my ear or eye (such as with dry sockets). So could it be infected even when I've been using salt water? Any other ideas?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Yes, another Wisdom Tooth question... :)?

I had all four wisdom teeth removed on Monday. The first 24 hours were fine - little to no pain. Day two brought on more pain and swelling in my cheeks, and today (day three) has been the most painful so far. I'm real anxious to get back to work, but I still look like a chipmunk and I'm still taking my painkillers. I'm also still unable to chew... I tried earlier and really hurt one side of my mouth, so I'm only eating soups, ice creams, etc. I'm 24 years old... three of the four wisdom teeth were impacted. Any input as to when I'll feel better?

Also, any idea when my stitches will dissolve? I can feel them in the sides of my cheek, but I can't remember when the oral surgeon said they would start to dissolve.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Farmer's Almanac Predicting KY Ice Storm?

Rumor has it that the Farmer's Almanac predicted the ice storm that went through Kentucky three weeks ago. It also supposedly says that another ice storm is supposed to come through the area in a few weeks. I've been searching online with no luck of finding proof of this. Can anyone provide more insight or more proof about this? If it seems as if another storm is coming through, I am wanting to buy a kerosene heater. But if all this is a rumor spreading like wildfire, then I think I will pass on the heater. Any input would be great!

  • Traveling to Hawaii in March?

I am looking to travel to Hawaii in March of 2010 - seems like so far away, but I think it'll be here before I know it! Can anyone give me pointers, places of interest to visit, beaches to see, etc? I will be meeting someone there for a few days, then spending a few days by myself... Not sure yet where I'll stay, but probably along Honolulu or Waikiki Beach.

Also, how's the weather that time of year? Is it warm enough to get into the water and lay out on the beach?

Transportation... should I count on renting a car or is public transportation sufficient?

How much money should I bring with me? I figured the cost of the plane ticket and hotel to be around $1200-1600, but beyond that I'm not sure.

Any information would be great! I'm in the beginning stages of planning this, so I'm open to everything!

  • Legal to give phone number to coworker?

Is it legal for a manager to give a coworker my phone number? It is ethical?

I'm sure it probably is, but it's really frustrating to see this happen. I just wonder if there's a better way for things to be handled rather than give out personal information. Any feedback would be great! :)
