  • What's the point of 3 different capitals in South Africa?

Why are there three different capital cities in South Africa?

I know one is for executive, one is for judicial, and one is for legislative.

But why have three separate cities for that? Why not have it all in one capital city?

  • Why did my ears hurt?

When I biked to school today, my ears hurt a lot. It felt kind of like the feeling you get when you go high up in an airplane, but add pain to it.

I think it might be from the cold. Where I live its not super cold and it never snows. [the last time it snowed where I live was 9 years ago] But it was somewhere around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Is it from the cold? I don't recall this happening before, and I bike to school all the time.

And my science teacher got mad at me for not paying attention, and I have a bad enough grade in that class.

Is there any way to prevent my ears from hurting?

  • Why am I having to repeatedly login?

today, while using yahoo services (mainly answers) every now and then I have to login again. Normally I stay logged in for a long time, but suddenly today I'm having to login many times in a single day. Why is this? Also, if this helps, I just recently installed the latest AVG free antivirus, and with it I got the AVG toolbar. The AVG toolbar has an option to tell you if you have received any emails. Is this whats affecting it?

  • Why did ESRB rate Super Smash Bros. T?

I got both Melee and Brawl before turning 13, and really they don't contain anything that's only appropriate for 13+.

    What was up with ESRB?

Kinda curious for the reason, its not bloody at all and its not graphic.

  • What is ScanSoft PaperPort 11?

Whenever I start up my computer, something pops up that really frustrates me. Someone else asked this on Y! Answers (I saw the resolved question) but the answerer didn't really answer the question.

First off... what IS scan soft paper port 11?

Second... what is wrong with my computer!!??!! Whenever it turns on [after completely shutting down, not just hibernate or sleep] a windows installer or something pops up with a loading bar. It says its trying to "configure" it or something, and if I click OK after its loaded it says there is no source or something. If I say cancel, it starts trying to configure it again (after a message saying there is no source).

Then I click cancel again... and again... it takes about 2 - 3 cancels before Windows figures out "oh, maybe he DOESN'T want paper soft scan port " . It frustrates me, and frustrates me even MORE that I don't know if my computer is infected or even what scan soft paper port 11 is!

My security is AVG Free, if this relates to viruses in any way.

  • Do you think you pronounce "Buddha" correctly?

Most people pronounce it like this:

Boo-dah , as in the sound of the word boot, soot, loot.....

Now say would. could. should. put. foot. cook.

it makes a difference vowel sound.

Now let's say "that vowel sound" = the letter "u"

Assuming that is true, say "Bud". if you're confused, say this like it rhymes with could or would: bould.

Now for the d sound, which many say D as in Dog, Door, Dimple, Dust, Dude, Duck, Doom, Despair, Death, Detergent, Demon, Dill, Den, Dock, Dim..............................................

Now say the word THe. Now MoTHer. FaTHer.

    BreaTHe.

The capital TH doesn't make the same sound in Think, Moth, Seth, Theory....

Now, say Buddha, except that the "DDH" makes the same sound as the TH in Mother, Breathe, Father, The, Them......

And say the "U" as the "U" in the word put, or foot, or look.

    Buddha.

Did YOU pronounce it correctly before? If you did, ya get 10 points LOL. Just thought I'd put this out there so those who say "boo-dah" know what the "real" pronunciation is.

  • Is Iraq "eye-RACK" or "ee-RAAK"?

I pronounced Iraq like "ee-RÄK" and when my friend heard me say it that way he told me its actually pronounced "eye-RACK" so which is correct?

I'm pretty sure it is "ee-RAAK" i'm just making sure. And I know that even though a lot of people may pronounced something a certain way the real pronunciation may be different (the "ddh" in buddha is actually pronounced like the word "the" )

    Anyway just curious.

  • What would you do if Justin Bieber rang your doorbell?

What would you do if you were in your house when your doorbell rings, you open the door... and there, before you eyes, is the (in)famous justin bieber!

What would you do? Would you murder him? Hug him and say "i love you!"? Stab him in the neck with the knife you were just using to chop vegetables?
