  • Blue-tongue - why are we importing it?

    The UK is supposed to be on high alert against blue-tongue in cattle and sheep. Twice this week there have been reports of the disease in imported livestock. My understanding is that when we export livestock, it has to be inspected by vets at least twice in a 28 day period before export. Obviously this is not happening in the other direction. Why are we not placing a complete ban on livestock imports to protect our stock?

  • Flat roofing repairs?

    I'm looking for accurate impartial advice relevant to the UK about replacing a felt roof. Even if I'm replacing an existing roof, do I have to install insulation to comply with latest building regs? Felt roofers tell me EDPM is useless, EDPM people tell me felt is out of the ark - Can anyone help? I've 1200 square metres to replace.
