  • Japan Trip: Should we stay in Tokyo for another half day or go to Hakone?

My family and I will be taking a 7-8 day trip to Japan and are trying to nail down out itinerary.

We were initially planning on going to Hakone from Tokyo, but now I'm worried it will be a lot of travel time and make the trip hectic.

Here's what I have so far:

Day 1 - arrive in Narita and go to Tokyo

Day 2 - sight see in Tokyo

Day 3 - Ghibli museum in the morning then EITHER more time in Tokyo OR go to Hakone

Day 4 - need to go back to Narita, then go to Kyoto (which will either be travelling from Tokyo or Hakone)

Days 5-8: Kyoto, Mt Koya, back to Narita

What do you think? Is it worth it to make a quick trip to Hakone or should we just stay in Tokyo and find an onsen there?

  • Help me style these two dresses?

So I have two dresses I'm trying to figure out how to style.

The first one is for an outdoor event, the look should be feminine, classy/sophisticated, and preppy. Very southern belle and spring-y. I have this dress (in white, not cream) and was hoping to add some color. Any ideas for accessories/shoes?

    Front: http://www.polyvore.com/pins_needles_lace_deep_bac...

    Back: http://www.polyvore.com/pins_needles_lace_deep_bac...

I'd prefer not to wear heels because I'll be walking around in the grass all day and I don't want the heel tips to sink haha

The second dress is just a fun casual dress, I'd like to be able to wear it to work, so maybe with tights or something? So it won't seem too short?

    Second dress: http://www.polyvore.com/lattice_back_bird_print_dr...

Polyvore sets would be great! Thanks!

  • What sizes do the Michael's sectional frames come in?

I am looking to frame a piece of art that is around 13x34 inches. As custom framing is very expensive and the quotes stores gave me ranged from $200-400 I'm looking for some more affordable options :)

Does anyone know what sizes Michaels has for their put-together-yourself sectional frame kits?

Or any other affordable custom framing options?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Hindi translation help please?

Can anyone give me a brief summary of premchand's story तेंतर ? The beginning was easier to understand but the vocabulary towards the end got kind of difficult and online dictionaries or translation sites aren't helping.

So far I have understood that in this household with a mom, dad, dadi, and 3 sons, a baby girl has been born. At first they don't know whether to celebrate the birth or not, they end up celebrating it but just because it would look strange if they didn't since they did when each of the 3 boys were born. So they were not celebrating out of love for the baby. Initially they didn't take care of the baby at all, didn't feed her milk (such that her mother was no longer to produce milk at all after some months) and fed her alcohol. I guess they were trying to kill the child? One night the father sees the baby awake and feels pity for her and takes her outside. From then on one of the sons feeds her milk from a goat every day and the baby becomes healthy again.

This is where it becomes confusing for me. I know the dadi doesn't want the baby so she gets sick? And says some things about how all the milk will attract snakes. But I'm not sure what exactly the dadi does and how the story ends.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

the story can be found at:

    Thank you so much!

  • Accounting question: annuities, calculating FV. Help please!?

How should I go about solving this problem? I thought I was using the correct formula but I'm not getting the right answer.

Your aunt wants to retire in 15 years and she assumes that she needs at least $2 million saved by retirement. She currently has investments totaling $850,000 and plans to save an additional $10,000 annually at the end of each year for the next 15 years. Your aunt believes that she can earn an after-tax annual rate of return of 6 percent on both her current investments and any additional amounts she saves.

When she retires in 15 years, your aunt should have accumulated an amount closest to:

    A) $2,037,000

    B) $2,187,000

    C) $2,270,000

The answer is C but I'm not sure how to get there, which equation to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • Finance question: Calculating Earnings Per Share. Help please!?

Company A and Company B both start 2008 with $1 million of shareholders' equity and 100,000 shares of common stock outstanding. During 2008, both companies earn net income of $100,000, a rate of return of 10% on common shareholders' equity at the beginning of 2008. Company A declares and pays $100,000 of dividends to common shareholders at the end of 2008, whereas Company B retains all its earnings and declares no dividends. During 2009, both companies earn net income equal to 10% of shareholders' equity at the beginning of 2009.

    Compute:

Earning per share for Company A:

    2008:

    2009

Earnings per share for Company B:

    2008:

    2009:

I got $1 for Company A 2008 and 2009 and $1 for Company B 2008, but I don't understand how to get the last one. Any help would be greatly appreciated! If you could explain the answer that would be fantastic! :)

    Thank you!

  • Any haircut ideas please?

I have longish hair, a couple inches past my shoulders, naturally wavy/kind of curly. It thins out towards the ends and is kind of thin overall but doesn't really look that way because of the waves.

For a really long time I've just had a straight cut, but I want to change it now. I don't want to cut it really short, I still want it past my shoulders, so what should I do? Should I get it layered? Bangs? Any suggestions would be great and pictures would be super appreciated!

    Thanks!

  • Tie-around heels with long strings?

I have a pair of heels and they have those tie-around strings (that go up your leg) kind of Roman style-ish?

    like these: http://cgi.ebay.com/GENTLY-WORN-HEELS-BY-FIONI-SZ....

    except the strings are longer.

strings are like the ones on these shoes: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=25...

I don't think I'll wear them tied up my leg that high, any ideas as to what I can do to "edit" the shoes? Is there anyway I can add a buckle or something that would hold the strings together around my ankle?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • What laptop should I take to college?

I'm not planning on majoring in engineering at the moment so what type of laptop should I take to college in the fall? Should I go with the popular Macbook? Or should I stick with a PC? Dell? Vaio? Toshiba?

There are so many options! I'd like a reasonably priced, reliable, and flexible laptop that is not too heavy for practicality purposes. And if it's pretty all the better (ex. vaio's are really pretty as are macs ;P) =]

  • Physics help please! Linear motion questions?

Ok I have two questions, if you could answer any of them it would be supremely helpful.

    First one:

A wooden block is cut into two pieces, one with 3 times the mass of the other. A depression is made in both faces of the cut, so that a firecracker can be placed in it with the block reassembled. The reassembled block is set on a rough surfaced table and the fuse is lit. hen the firecracker explodes, the two blocks separate. What is the ratio of distances each block travels?

Answer is 9:1, if you could please show the method.

    Second one:

A rocket of total mass 3180 kg is travelling in outer space with a velocity of 115 m/s toward the sun. It wishes to alter its course by 35.0 degrees, and can do this by firing its rockets briefly in a direction perpendicular to its original motion. If the rocket gases are expelled at a speed of 1750 m/s, how much mass must be expelled?

Answer is 140kg, show method please.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
