Chevy 350 w/ holley carb. I've tried adjusting idle mixture screws; tried adjusting curb idle settings; tried adjusting timing on hei distributor; replaced vacuum advance; replaced centrifugal advance kit; checked plugs, wires, rotor, cap. Just started doing this one day. Has slow acceleration and starts to pop when rpm's start to increase. any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

What do you think about the announcement that the Vatican has forgiven John Lennon for his comment about the Beatles being more popular than Jesus? Saying that it was simply a boast by a young englishman who was thrust into fame to quickly. Geez guys, did you kinda take a while to think about this one at the Vatican? Lennon, in HIS apology, stated that he was not boasting and that he only said it because he thought the youth were more aware of The Beatles than they were of Jesus Christ at the time. It was not a boast but a declaration of facts that he himself was not happy about. I can see where it was misconstued. Especially by the uptight dignitaries of the 60's. The same sort of thing goes on now, with some of todays bands. Kids committing suicide because they thought Marilyn Manson told them to. Or that Pink Floyd told them to Learn To Fly, so they jump off a balcony. They should have been upset with the youth of the generation and applauded Lennon for having the guts to throw the truth in their faces. I think those little white collars choke off the flow of blood to their brains sometimes (but doesn't seem to inhibit blood flow to other appendages. Touch me Father, for I have sinned). They have their own internal problems they should have been worrying about. But hey, thanks for finally coming to your senses about John. Being the Peace & Love worshiping man that he was, I'm sure he would have accepted the apology gratiously. Sorry for the rant folks. Now it's your turn!!!

Sounds like a 60's or a Beatles song, almost same melody as - I Wanna Be Your Lover, Baby, (I Wanna Be Your Man) by The Beatles. Don't think it's them though. I thought I knew alot about The Beatles, and I guess I could be wrong. Nothing comes up on a search of The Beatles, Gonna Be Alright, or Alright. At least nothing familiar to me. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

For all you Beatles fans out there, every sunday morning they have a one hour show where they play music, lost cuts and clips, interviews and just alot of interesting stuff about the Beatles. I love it. It's on at somewhat different times depending on your location. They have a website that you can check out too. You can find stations in your area there also. .....seen the Pink Floyd music DVD pulse? What is your opinion? For those of you who have never done anything other than listen to Pink Floyd on the radio, I would suggest getting this DVD. It is music that you "experience", not just listen to. I don't know of any other artists that put on a show like this anymore. Have fun!

.....for Yahoo Answers to implement some sort of screening process for the people on this site? Make people who join submit their verifiable address or something (for their own records) so you could track these morons down or keep them from having 6 or 7 names so they can keep spouting off their pent up frustrations. What can I use to get rid of (not cover up) the nasty cigarette smell in the headliner and interior of a used car that I just bought for my daughter? Great deal on a nice car she really likes if we can get past this one bad point. Thanks.

First of all, I'm not a mechanic. Know just enough to be dangerous and don't mind admitting it. #4 cylinder in my daughters car was dead (no difference in rpm's when you remove plug wire). Decided I was going to take off the valve cover and check the valves and rockers. #4 seemed to have alot of play in the rockers. When I went to get the tools, a friend who was helping bumped the ignition and changed the cylinder position. I didn't look and loosened the rockers to adjust. Anyway, car would not start again. Adjusted back to where I thought they had been originally and got it to start, but dies or almost dies when you put it in gear. What is the spacing on the rockers when they are open? Any ideas why cylinder would be dead? New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. Even tried turning distributor to advance/retard. Still nothing. Just want to get it to where it's driveable again without dying if you stop. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have a bunch of old cassettes with music recorder at jam sessions and private parties with various bands from the 70's and 80's. Stuff you just can't find anywhere else. I'd love to transfer them onto cd's. What are my options?
