I'm a 29 year old atheist from Dallas, TX. Interests include evolution, the big bang, neuroscience, quantum physics, philosophy, music, and documentaries/foreign/indie films. I have a B.S. in Neuroscience, and I'm currently working on my RN/BSN.
Should/Why should someone's personal beliefs be something other people respect?
Especially if those beliefs are extremely offensive to other people? It seems that society suggest we respect each others religious beliefs, but political ideologies are free from this "don't question" arena (except maybe at work/parties). Why should religious beliefs be special in this sense, when a person freely chooses to believe something?
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoDid you make disease, and the diamond blue? Did you make mankind after we made you? And the devil too!?
Dear God, sorry to disturb you, but... I feel that I should be heard
loud and clear. We all need a big reduction in amount of tears
and all the people that you made in your image, see them fighting
in the street 'cause they can't make opinions meet about God,
I can't believe in you
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoDoes YA have an inappropriate bias towards theists on R&S?
I have had many questions deleted that were purely scientifically based and respectfully phrased, but were still deleted due to subject matter. What about all the offensive questions Christians post? WTF?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIs CERN looking for evidence of gravitons?
If so, have they found any evidence, and how long will it take and/or how much data will they need to collect to confirm the existence of gravitons? What is/are the theories that explain how gravitons form? I've only recently become interested in quantum physics, so my understanding is fairly uh...primitive at this point. Thanks!
2 AnswersPhysics8 years agoWhat's the best Guided By Voices song to introduce a teenager to?
My niece is a 14 year old girl who's about to start high school. She's entering into an arts magnet high school and I want to introduce her into some good music, and she seems to be into some lo-fi indie rock right now, but I don't think she knows Guided by Voices yet. I'd love some suggestions for the best GBV song to get her into.. I'm thinking "My Valuable Hunting Knife" or "Teenage FBI" or maybe "I Am a Scientist." Thoughts/Suggestions? I don't have any kids of my own, so it's difficult to figure out what's age-appropriate...
1 AnswerRock and Pop8 years agoChristians - if you have any relatives who are gay, what do you think about them? Will they burn in Hell?
If you feel that is indeed their fate, does it make you glad that God will condemn them to a far more harsh and brutal punishment than man ever could?
If you don't think God will send them to Hell, how do you feel about literal Biblical interpretations?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoAre there any other atheists out there that are as opposed to religion as they are to government?
Most of the atheists that I have come into contact with in the "real" world (outside of the internet) have been socialists...or at least very far left-leaning democrats. I have yet to meet another anarchist atheist, but I suppose that is because I live in Texas. Are there amy other atheists out there like me?
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow is God any different than a totalitarian dictator?
"God works in mysterious ways" is often the excuse given by theists to explain away travesties like the Holocaust, Darfur, and the world AIDS epidemic. How are the actions of a supreme ruler like God any different than the actions of any other of history's negligent or uncompromising dictators? If God endowed us with our sense of morality, shouldn't he be subject to our moral compass? And if he is somehow acting outside of our understanding/knowledge, as an omniscient being, shouldn't he realize that there's going to be a lot of pissed off people out there that won't understand why he allows millions of children worldwide to be brutally raped, murdered, and subject to starvation? To me, the concept of an omniscient, omnipotent deity can't exist without also being a total douche-bag full of evil.
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians (and other theists as well), hypothetically speaking, if god doesn't exist...?
could you still find purpose in your lives? If you are a theist and cannot answer a hypothetical question (or don't know what hypothetical means), then just skip to the next question.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhich religion do you feel is CURRENTLY responsible for the most injustice in the world?
In my opinion, they're all based in make-believe. But which one has (or strives to have) the strongest world-wide political influence?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat historical evidence supports Jesus' existence?
Other than the Bible, and personal belief, of course.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists - My parents are Roman Catholic, but I am an atheist. Should I try to convince my parents to...?
ditch their belief in God? I'm also gay, but both my parents accept me for being being born this way, and I have their total support and approval. But, I know their religious convictions suggest to them that I will end up in Hell. I know it would give them peace of mind, as far as my fate is concerned, if I could convince them that God, Heaven, and Hell don't exist, but I also don't believe in proselytizing. Plus, I think they find comfort in the belief in God that I never did even when I was religious. So there's my dilemma, what's your opinion?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhich scientist disproved the greatest amount of religious doctrine (at the time)?
Doesn't matter which religion, if you can argue your point. Although, my question is mainly focused at Christianity.
6 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn your experience, which logical fallacy is most commonly used in an attempt to prove god's existence?
i'm getting pretty drunk, so please excuse any error in grammar or spelling, i'm too lazy to check at this point...
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMy dog keeps trying to lick her pu$$y in front of me, what should i do to stop her?
I don't think it's wrong, i just find it disgusting.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat's the best way to cook a marinated chicken breast without losing flavor from the marinade?
I don't have a grill, so my only options are baking and pan frying...
