  • Daly City to Fisherman's wharf by Bart?

I know we can catch the BART from Daly City (Hampton Inn), even though I don't know how, but how close does it get us to Fisherman's Wharf, and if not that close, how would we get to the wharf area? I am somewhat limited in walking because I just had major knee surgery, so I cannot walk long distances. This is our first time to SF and frankly the whole city thing and mass transit kind of scares me. Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

  • My HP laptop is frozen at the startup screen?

With no warning, I turned on my HP notebook and the message that it could not recognize my operating system (Vista) apeared on the screen, then it went to a blank screen with a blinking cursor in the top left corner. I shut off the computer, but when I turned it on again, it got frozen at the start-up screen and will do nothing. I was unable to start it in safe mode, or to do a system restore. I am out of options and not all that computer savy. Can anybody help? I do not have any system discs that I can use to reboot. I don't know what else to try. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have never had a problem with this particular computer before.

  • We will be in Puerto Vallarta for one day. Should we take a sightseeing tour or just walk around town & enjoy?

Are the sighseeing tours worth the money? Can we see anything by just walking around instead?

  • Can anyone give me some touristy info on ports of call from San Diego through the Panama Canal on HAL?

Do the ships dock within walking distances of the towns? What about safety and money? What are things that we should see? Our first stop is Puerto Vallarta. We are also going to Cartagena. What kind of weather can we expect in April? Thanks.

  • booting up problems?

I can't get my computer to boot up even though I type in the correct password. Whether in regular or safe mode, after typing in the p/w, the computer bypasses the desktop screen and goes to a desktop scrn saver. All I can do is get to a command prompt, but I don't know what to do after that. Any help would be appreciated. It is running Win 2000, but whoever set up the system is long gone and I am out of luck. I have tried all previous suggestions and got nowhere yet. It has me puzzled to say the least. I also do not have any disks that I can boot from. The most common error message I get are either wrong syntax or cannot find path. Plse help.

  • startup/password problems?

Ok, I have tried everything. Cannot boot from CD. cannot change user name to another to get in. When I put in known p/w, screen goes right to a desktop image.. I can get to safe mode and get to a command prompt, though, but what then. I have tried net user, changed p/w to 123456, but still nothing changes. I tried windows/sys32, etc and it said it couldn't find the path. I tried winnt/sys32/restore/ etc but it says it is an incorrect syntax. Went to Ask.com, etc, nothing seems to work. Any other suggestions other than throwing out said computer from 3rd floor window. This now has me obsessed with trying to fix it. Btw, I am using an HP desktop, Win 2000. Pls help!

  • Help with computer start-up/ password problem?

When I start up my HP desktop, I get the login, but I don't know the password, but when I try to start in safe mode I also get the login and again I don't know the password, so I am locked out of the computer. When I put in a password that I thought was correct, it bypassed all the start-up and went right to a desktop image and stayed there. I tried other user names to no avail. To top it off, the CD-rom drive was not recognizing a CD, so I could not boot from the CD. I am running Windows 2000 on this computer. Please help. I can't do anything if I can't even boot it up in any kind of mode. Thank you in advance.

  • Blinking lights #2?

Thanks for the answers. Didn't mean to be so confusing. We had an electrician find the problem to the dead downstairs lighting which he said happened because some wires came loose at the starting point of the wiring for that particular loop.

He then tested all kinds of wires and said the breakers were okay and the wires coming into the box were okay.

When it happens the lights just flicker and get dim. It justs lasts for a second and we have not been able to determine what causes them to flicker. We thought maybe the furnace going on, but it doesn't happen every time the furnace goes on.

I did call the electric company and they blew me off and said it wasn't their problem.

  • blinking lights?

The lights in our house flicker periodically and we can't figure out why. The entire downstairs went dead, but we found out that this was caused by loose wires at the entry point of the wiring, but this one is baffling and still occurs even after the other problem got solved. Any suggestions? Because it would cost a fortune to have an electrician come in and test all the wiring in the house. What could we try that might actually work? Thanks for any help. The house is about 30 years old.
