  • How will fill flash affect the exposure of parts of the photo not in shade?

If I am shooting a subject and part of their face is in shade, I would meter the sunny part of the face to expose it properly throwing part of the face into shade. This much I know. I was wondering If I add fill flash to bring the dark portion of the face out of shade will that now add more light to the properly exposed part of the face making it now overexposed?

    Thanks Much!

  • What's the latest rumor on when the D700's will be released?

I am patient so in no hurry. But I would imagine the D700 will be seeing an upgrade withing a reasonable amount of time. I am thinking of going full frame but will wait until the new version of the D700 hits the stores. Any rumors as to when this may occur?

  • I just bought Photoshop CS5 and need BASIC instruction. Any suggestions?

Please don't just say something like "There are lots of videos on youtube" or something like that. Those vids are all over the map in quality and most make the assumption you know the basics. I am looking for help that will start out in plain non-adobe language and explain how to create and work with layers and masks. Even basics like opening, working in, combining and saving them. I am looking for suggestions on videos, books, tutorials etc... Thanks!

  • How did Noah's ark animals travel throughout the Earth?

Two polar bears and two bison were released on a mountain in the middle east. How did they make it all the way to north America? Same question with kangaroos getting to Australia. The continents are not attached so they couldn't have walked.

  • Pre-destination vs free-will salvation... Specifically Romans 9:10 and following?

I heard a good lesson taking the Calvanist position of predestination. The main scripture for this lesson was Romans 9:10 and following. Paul seems to be so clear and succinct here. Could someone please take the other side and, WITHOUT RESORTING TO OPINION, explain why Paul is not espousing predestination here and give me a similar passage to illustrate the other side(free will). Please use scripture and avoid a long sermon. and please don't use the "If predestination were true that would be cold, unfair, unjust etc... That would be opinion not scripture.

Thank you in advance for your input. I do appreciate it.

  • Honest Questions about what to call blacks who....?

This is an honest question. The black people with whom I work want to be called African American. No problem there. My question is what are we supposed to call Blacks who live in other countries. For example, the news calls Blacks who live in Haiti "Haitians". Should they not be called "African Haitians"?

I would love to get a definitive answer from some African Americans... Thanks!

  • Question for those who use studio lighting. Info please...?

I am thinking about popping a couple hundred $ for a basic light/umbrella kit for home / family use(alien bee etc.). I am unfamiliar with some of the terms used. On line tutorials show models under a constant light to demonstrate effects of different sources etc. But the term strobe is also used. Strobe, to me, says flash. Do most kits use flashes and can those lights alternatively be used as constant light sources? Any info you wish to offer would be appreciated!

  • Which backdrop should I get?

I need to get a backdrop to take pics of my grand kids and family. I have a good camera and am missing out on great photos because they all look like "snapshots" with furniture etc in them.

1.) which color is best for a background?

2.) is a specific brand recommended?

3.) what should i expect as a price range?

  • Honest question. Who were the folks who translated the New World Translation of the Bible?

I know it's published by the Watchtower. I've been told by visiting Witnesses that it is the most accurate and reliable translation. Any seeker worth his salt would want to inspect the credentials of those translators before accepting their work as better than any other. So I just want a quick list of translators and their scholarship credentials so i can check for myself. Thanks in advance for your info!

There used to be a couple of sites that filtered stocks by rate of return on call options. I can't seem to find them now. Anyone know the name or web address of them?

  • Where to get photography lessons and what is the cost?

I own a Nikon D90. I have been just getting by and I know it is capable of so much more. I am having trouble finding a place for instruction specific to the D90 as well as general DSLR instruction. Our local Junior college doesn't offer it. Any ideas on how to find instruction and how much should I expect to pay for it? I'm in Southern California...

    Thanks!

  • On the Blackberry 8520 how do you change the notifications?

I can find the place to change the general "phone" ring tone but cannot find how to give a different alert for text messages. The on line instructions are too general and not accurate. What they say to look for doesn't exist on my phone. HELP!

    Thanks!
