My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I tell you this so that no one may deceive you by fine-sounding arguments. For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how orderly you are and how firm your faith in Christ is. Colossians 2:2-5
Christians: Describe the difference between religion and faith?
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Where in the Bible does it say our soul separates from our body after death?
Yes I am a Christian - I seek "Bibical truth" OVER the inflection of man.
Please find and directly quote scripture.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Is the Kingdom of God a reference to us going to heaven or Christ coming to earth?
In other words - as believers, do we go to heaven, or does Christ return and reign on this earth?
Quote scripture please.....
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Has anyone ever gone to heaven?
The popular teaching is that when Christians die we immediately go to heaven, where we take up residence in our permanent abode.
But can we find such a teaching in the Bible?
Notice John 3:13: "No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man [Jesus Christ] who is in heaven."
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists and Unbelievers: I was wrong, can you accept my apology?
I am a Christian, I read the Bible and I believe it is the word of God. The God I worship is a completely 100% loving God. However I recently posted something and I found out I was wrong, you were right and I want to know if you will accept my apology.
What I realize is that God does not torment people for ‘all eternity’ for not believing. There is no fiery pit of hell where people burn forever, nor does the Bible speak of an eternal hell. As a matter of fact, the only ‘punishment’ for not believing in Jesus is literally what YOU ALL BELIEVE happens when you die – death, the end, no more life, just decomposition and worms.
It has taken me 16 years as a Christian to come to know that, and I apologize for saying 'unbelievers are going to hell', and especially for disagreeing with you about what you feel is going to happen when you die. I now have a better understanding of Biblical truth.
So - You are right, and I was wrong. Can you accept my apology?
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoChristians: Who Would You Save and Why?
Two boats have overturned in the ocean, one containing your Christian family, the other containing 'non-believers'. You arrive on the scene but only have room to carry the passengers of one boat - the others will surely drown.
Who do you carry back and why?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists and Agnostics - What Can I Do For You?
I am often bothered by the damning remarks made by people of other faiths (including mine) towards you and your beliefs. I know according to my beliefs that no man or woman can 'forecast' who is going to heaven and who is not.
As "Humans", how can we find a way to live in better harmony together?
33 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists: What do you know as the "origin of life"?
And can you point me to a website that shows me the proof?
19 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists: Is it possible to be an atheist and still believe in the theory of intelligent design?
I have read that atheism is the belief in the non-existence of any god or dieties.
Intelligent Design is not a religion, nor does it require faith in a god to believe in the theory.
27 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat's the greatest gamble?
Who has more to lose in each scenario if they are wrong and why?
#1) A person who believes in the eternal life after they die.
#2) A person who believes there is nothing after physical death.
