5 AnswersPolls & Surveys11 months agoCollecting unemployment benefit while working 40 hours a week?
A friend has two jobs. One is full time 40 hours a week which she is still working.
The other job is part time and closed because of the CovID-19. She is collecting unemployment plus the supplement which comes out to 1500.00 every two weeks.
The 1500.00 biweekly is probably more than she makes at her full time job.
4 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 year agoWhy did I cry when I heard a newborn baby cry?
I was visiting a friend in the maternity ward.
After exiting the room to fetch a coffee for my girlfriend I passed a room where the woman gave birth at that moment.
The newborn was crying and I was overcome with sobbing. Standing there in the hall by myself sobbing and trying to not draw attention to myself.
It was totally unexpected and I felt such a joy over the baby. What happened?
3 AnswersPsychology2 years agoWhat did I find?
I dug this up from a riverbank about 4 inches down in the gravel and rocks.
It's very heavy like iron but not corroded for something that has likely been submerged for many years.
3 AnswersHistory2 years agoWhy am I a psychopath?
There is plenty of information about how to classify people with an anti-social disorder.
My focus is on the why. Are we born that way? Do we develop the traits by which we are described?

3 AnswersSinging4 years agoWhy would someone use pronoun "my" a lot.?
A friend says "my" way to much. Example:
Did the storm daage your house?
Yes. My chimney was in my yard. My basement got wet. Repair men came to fix my roof. My deductible is 100.00. I took my car to garage to look at my transmission. Fluid was on my floor in my garage.

2 AnswersWords & Wordplay4 years agoWhy is light from stars not blurred across the sky?
Say light from the stars you see at night has traveled billions of years to reach you. When you look at the stars, all are seen as a point of light.
It seems to me that given the constant movement of the stars and our planet that each point of light we call a star might be light from the previous position of a star seen elsewhere in the sky.
Just like if you swirled a flashlight around quickly, the flashlight makes what looks like a circle of light.
The difference is the stars and our planet are constantly moving but the light from the moving stars stays pretty much constant to our perception. Not swirling.

1 AnswerEngineering8 years agoWhy are people walking in the street or roads?
I've noticed lately a thing where either one or more young guys will walk in the street instead of the sidewalk. When cars come along, they don't get out of the way, they just keep strutting along.
On a busy two lane road, someone is always walking in the road making cars get in the other lane to go around. Normally, people step off the road when a car comes along. These guys act like they are the only one on the road.
I'm wondering if this is a new "statement" being made.
6 AnswersOther - Society & Culture9 years agoIs my mental health in jeopardy?
A co-worker lied to our boss during a meeting, telling him in front of a lot of people that a particularly serious mistake was my fault.
It seems strange to me that I didn't get upset or feel anger toward the liar. All I did was calmly prove I had nothing to do with the problem. and internally acknowledge the co-worker is someone to distrust.
