What was that one thing that when you got it at a baby shower you wondered "will I ever use this" but when the time came you would use more than you ever expected? And on the flip side what was the one thing you really thought you'd need but then didn't use at all?

One of my guy friends possibly got a girl prego. Time line isn't quite right but who knows. She doesn't want him involved...AT ALL. She's even saying she's going to move to avoid him! He's torn as to if he should just leave her alone (they live 3 hours apart so it wouldn't be hard) and if not do you think he should tell his parents that he got a girl pregnant? Ps. He's 31 and single; she's 27 divorced with one kid already.

1 of our really close friends told us today he is going to be a dad.He's 31 &single.She's 27 divorced w/ a 5 yr old.She lives 2+ hrs away &neither have any intention of moving closer. They met on facebook,had 2 dates then had sex on the 3rd date -she has a mirena so no condom.3 wks later on their 4th date she wants to be exclusive - he says no, i just got a great job here & its too far to be exclusive. he also told us he just didn't like her that much.so they broke it off - 3 days later she tells him she's pregnant.The dates are close to right.But she won't tell him her estimated due date even though she's already had one ultrasound.she won't show the ultrasound picture to him, & was going to schedule another one so he could be there with her but then decided not to.he's made it clear he wants to be involved but only with the child not her.so i have 2 questions:1) if you were in his shoes would you believe she was prego? 2) how involved would you try to be - during pregnancy & after?

I made deviled eggs for a 4th of July potluck, but due to the whites breaking, I now have LOTS of leftover yolk mix. Does anyone have suggestions on what to do with it or do I just have to throw it out??

My sister is throwing a 4th of July / 8th Grade Graduation party for my nephew tomorrow. She JUST informed me that we are all to bring a side dish to pass. I have no problem with this except I don't know what to bring! I have gone to other "bring a dish" events but they were always under 10 people. What can you do for an entire family thing of at least 30? Other than buying a box of cookies or a couple of bags of chips. Please give me some SIMPLE recipes that you've taken to potluck style dinners. Thanks in advance!!!!!

My friend has a 31 month old girl and a 19 month old girl. Every Thursday I watch the two with my daughter (39 m). I realize that between 31 and 39 months your language skills skyrocket, but when the 19 m old almost speaks more clearly than the 31 m old, should I say anything?

For example, this past week the younger one said "apble" for apple. Pretty close, right? The older one said, "aawull". If she hadn't pointed to the picture of one, I wouldn't have guessed that was "apple". Its not just on this one word either. I would say I can truly understand 10% of what she says and guess up to 15%. It almost reminds me of the stereotypical deaf way of trying to speak by grunting. I am concerned that she has either a speech problem or a hearing problem.

As a fellow mom and friend, would you say anything to maybe get her checked out? Or would you just let it go and see if she has problems later in school?

Has anyone else noticed that all these actress that have kids later in life have been having a lot of twins? J Lo - twins at 39. Julia Roberts - twins at 37. Now I read Angelina Jolie is pregnant with twins at 34.

I realize that most likely its in vitro...but has anyone ever heard of any likelyhood of after removing a Mirena if it increases the chances of twins? Or after getting off the ring/pill thing that only lets you have 4 periods a year? I mean both of these products potentially stop your periods but the eggs are there - when you get off of them what are the chances of more than one egg getting released thus resulting in twins. Just curious.

We are thinking about a trip over my daughter's 3rd birthday. I know they have a ticket price for children 3 - 9. Do they actually check ages on kids that small or if I say she's 2 for the whole trip (even though the last 2 days she would be 3) would I be able to get her in for free? Please let me know. Possible TMI - READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

I had a Mirena put in April 07. Before that I had 3 - 5 day periods that were light, heavier, heavy, lighter, light. Liek clockwork - 27 day cycles. After having it put in my periods were at least 10 days (sometime up to 2 weeks) of light, light, light etc. But I still was every 27 - 28 days. I have had a period EVERY month! I know they say with the Mirena it can lessen or go away but now this is the 1st month without one and I'm concerned. Am I that point 1% that DO get pregnant?

I have my annual exam on the 23rd so I am planning to bring this up to my doctor then - but my question for you is this....

If you were in my shoes would you spend the money and try an at home test before the doctor's appt or just wait and see.

Ok TMI - I have been with my husband for 12 years (7 dating & 5 married) before our daughter was born we used the withdrawal method so I never had to deal with this. Now our daughter is 3 and we continued to use the withdrawal method until I had a miscarriage that woke us up. We decided to wait for awhile for another chid so I got a Mirena put it. Now he doesn't pull out but the sperm leaks out for 1 -2 days after sex! I have been using pantiliners to catch it but if we have sex just twice a week I go through a box VERY quickly. How do you catch the sperm or are pantiliners the best option for this?

My best friend is pregnant with twins. She recently started looking at cloth diapers to save her money compared to disposables. Please let me know if cloth diapers with twins is the most economical over disposables - by economical I mean in both time and money (diapers, water, soap, electricity, covers, etc.) We do not have any services in town or even nearby to consider.

Also, what would she need to start out?

How much would it cost up front?

How long does an average diaper last before it needs replaced?

Do cloth diapers fit all sizes? With twins they'll probaby be smaller than average.

And any other info you think might help.

Mind you I don't care if she wants to use disposables or cloth - I just want more information from people that actually use them.

My pastor refered to a vampire movie scene today in his sermon and I would like to know the title - he couldn't remember. It's about the "nerdy" boy next door knew all about vampires and so he went to the vampire holding a crucifix knowing it would ward of the vampire. However the vamp took it from his hand and crushed it without any problems, saying something like, "You have to have faith." Does this sound familiar at all? Help me - what movie is this from? I wrote thank you's for wedding and shower gifts but never expected to recieve or sent thank you's for birthday presents growing up.

Now my daughter is 2 1/2 and I haven't sent birthday thank you's the past 2 years. However, my friend's daughter sent us a thank you for her 1st birthday gift and it made me start wondering if I should be having her write thank you's for birthday gifts.

Also, If I do it for birthday, should I also do it for Christmas or Easter or Valentine's day or random gifts throughout the year? Just curious what everyone thinks. Thanks in advance!

My best friend is offically due April 22nd, but she found out yesterday she is having twins - which could bump her up closer to the end of March they don't know exactly when now. Normally I would plan for her shower to be about a month early. I want to make sure they have the time they need to go out and buy what they didn't get as gifts. With twins I think a little more time would be nice since they would need to buy two of everything. Is the beginning of February too soon - I was thinking maybe the Saturday before Super Bowl so we all can eat the leftovers on Super Bowl Sunday. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

I recently went to an auction where there was an old cross stitched sampler of the good night prayer. You know "Now I lay me down to sleep. Pray the Lord my soul to keep. If I die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take." I always had mixed feelings about this prayer...it sounded so pessimistic to me. But on this sampler it had another line..."And if I live many days, I pray the Lord to guide my ways."

I bought the sampler for this last line and want to know if you had ever heard it and if not why do you think it got truncated. Just Curious! Thanks!

I'm on the first level when you must get library blueprints, build a library, and get 30,000 in rentals and then part way thru he tells you you need to have 2 three star ramblers. HOW DO I DO THIS??? I've tried everything I can think of - builing a workshop to train, building the ramblers first to generate rent and get it out of the way - I keep running out of time before I can the rental monies. HELP!!!
