  • Is this a fair assessment of atheism as a way of thinking?

I do not reason the way God, a supposedly omniscient being reasons, as evidenced by the world we live in. Therefore, He must be evil or He must not exist.

  • Why do people often say religious extremists are dangerous?

Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and St. Jude's Hospital, along with nearly every other hospital in America were founded by religious extremists. Martin Luther King, Jr. was also a minister, which makes him a religious extremist. Jesus Christ was a religious extremist, for heaven's sake!

I would assume that people are referring to violent religious extremists, so why don't they leave the religious part out and just say that violent people are dangerous?

  • Why do people say a fetus isn't a person?

I know it's not fully developed. Neither is an infant. What do you think happens during puberty? I would say a fetus is a little person, fully dependent on his or her mother. Wouldn't you?

  • Jews/Muslims/anyone willing to humor me by acknowledging God's existence, how would you go to heaven?

If God is a good judge, who does care how we live (sorry Deists), then how would one go to heaven? Who is good? If you've told a lie, you're a liar. If you've stolen something, even if it's small, you're a thief. If you've looked with lust, according to Matthew 5, you're an adulterer at heart. If you've hated someone, according to I John 3, you're a murderer at heart. If you take the Lord's name in vain, you're using God's name as a curse word. That's called blasphemy, making you a blasphemer. Wouldn't God have to punish you for these deeds?

Christians don't have this problem. We have a substitute, namely Jesus Christ, who took God's wrath for us on the cross and if we trust in Him, which includes repentance, we're bought and paid for. We belong to God. We go to heaven.

How would you get in without Christ? YOU have heard of Christ because I just told you. I don't know about the ones who haven't heard, except God could reach them if they sought Him. Most do not.

  • Isn't the Christian faith evidence that Jesus Christ existed?

I mean, it'd be pretty ridiculous to believe that people got killed for believing in a man who not only didn't rise from the dead, but never died in the first place because he never lived at all. There is ample evidence suggesting that Christians were martyred dating back to the first century A. D., or C. E. if you prefer. The apostle Paul was among them, and he wrote that people could simply ask eyewitnesses if what he was saying about the resurrection was correct or not (I Corinthians 15:1-8).

If you want evidence outside the Bible, read the writings of Josephus. He confirms some parts of the New Testament, though I'm not an expert on him. Jesus commanded us to love God with our minds. It's not illogical. Search out the evidence and see for yourself. Or if you think I'm full of it, tell me why.

  • Are Christians a majority?

Looking at America's 50% divorce rate, complete disregard for taking the Lord's name in vain in their entertainment, $12 billion dollar porn industry, etc., is it really fair to call us a Christian nation or to say that Christians are the majority?

  • Can you really know that God doesn't exist? Or doesn't speak to anyone?

Wouldn't you have to have all knowledge to truly know such things? Couldn't God exist and you not know Him?

  • There is no evidence for creation and flood?

If something does not follow natural law but still follows a pattern, like a painting, building, etc., it is said to have evidence of design. We don't see anything like that in the natural world.

If the "fountains of the great deep burst open," like Genesis 7 teaches us, there would be cracks in the Earth's crust that go all around the world. These cracks don't exist.

If water covered the Earth, including the mountains and high hills, the tides would shift the sediments creating layers and burying fossils. There are no layers or fossils in the Earth.

If the mountains rose up at the end, then the water would rush off into the places that sank down, making the mountains parallel to the oceans. The Appalachians aren't parallel to the Atlantic. The Himalayas aren't parallel to the Indian Ocean. The Andes aren't parallel to the Pacific Ocean.

There is NO evidence for creation or the flood. What planet do you live on?

    Hahaha.

  • Atheists and Christians, consider this please?

II Peter 3:3-7 "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, 'Where is the promise of [Jesus Christ's 2nd] coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation (uniformitarianism).' For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the Earth standing out of the water and in the water (can any atheist explain what that means, or have you never heard it before?). Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: But the heavens and the Earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men."

Atheists: Have you ever heard a detailed creation/flood theory, or just an extremely vague one?

Christians: Since the Bible says they doubt because of their lusts, why use science to convince them? Use the law and the conscience.

  • How can I reuse ugly old blankets?

I don't want to just throw them out because they're still in pretty good shape, still usable, but I don't need them as blankets. I have better ones that I can use for that purpose. I don't want to waste them and I don't want to give them away because they aren't in great shape. Other people wouldn't want them. Some are thick comforters. Some are thinner, more like throws. I've thought about making pillows out of them but I don't know if that will work. Any ideas would be helpful, especially craft ideas. Thank you.

  • Muslims, what would a good judge decide?

Suppose a man rapes a woman and slits her throat. When he stands before the judge, he tells the judge he's sorry for what he did. He won't do it again and he's done a lot of good things in his life. He'll even agree to do more good things. Will the judge let him offf?

Why do you think God (or Allah) would let you off for your good deeds if you've done bad deeds? If you've lied, stolen, lusted, hated, blasphemed, etc., don't you deserve to be punished? How can a good judge just look the other way?

The God of the Bible doesn't look the other way. Jesus Christ took the punishment for sins, so every one who trusts in Jesus, like a man jumping out of a plane trusts in a parachute, and repents, will have his or her sins credited to Christ's account, which is already paid in full. In that case, justice has not been perverted and that person can go to heaven, based on what Christ has done for them.

What do you think? (Romans 3:23; 6:23; 10:9-10; etc.)

  • For the atheists in the world, I just wonder, if God was real, would you follow Him?

I've heard some atheists say they don't believe in God because they don't want to. Even Sir Arthur Keith said something like, "Evolution is unproved and unprovable. We believe it only because the only alternative is special creation and that is unthinkable." He said that in his introduction to the 100th anniversary edition of "On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life," by Charles Darwin. I do believe in God, by the way. I'm a Christian but I'm really not trying to be a jerk. Just curious.

  • If I gave you the raw materials, could you make a living human being?

Starting with the elements on the Periodic Table, every molecule, water, and any source of energy that you need (wind, water, fire, solar, etc.) could you build a human being from scratch and then make him or her come alive? Or any other living organism? Money is no object either. I'll give you unlimited funds. Could you do it? It's not that hard to do. After all if evolution is true, dumb luck and blind chance made it happen. You're not stupider than dumb luck and blind chance are you? If you are, by your own admission, stupider than dumb luck and blind chance, then why would any thinking person take your theory seriously? Even if you have studied and learned a lot about science.

  • Can someone from the left, especially far left explain?

In order to make a baby, two things have to happen. First off, a man must have sex with a woman. Second, the woman must carry the baby to term and the baby must be delivered. The left tends to promote both homosexuality and abortion. All the deaths of American soldiers in Iraq combined have yet to equal one day worth of abortions. In fact, many on the left support infanticide as well, which is killing babies that have already been born, particularly in cases where the baby is retarded or born to a poor family because they'll have a poor quality of life. Talk about outrageous and sick!

They also include "Right to Die" advocates, who favor euthanasia, doctor-assisted suicide, etc. They even want to legalize illegal drugs.

I oppose all of these things on biblical grounds, but the left doesn't want the Christian influence in gov't. Can someone explain? I think the left has gone crazy. Maybe someone from the left can explain your thought process. How do we survive this stuff?

  • Mormons, does God the Father have a physical body?

Since we are made in God's image, both male and female (Genesis 1:27), wouldn't that make your God the Father a little weird looking at best and downright perverse at worst? And if God the Father has a body, then wouldn't that make the virgin Mary, not really a virgin when she conceived because God the Father seduced her? Or else God the Father wouldn't be the father of Jesus Christ.

My understanding of being made in God's image is that He has certain qualities in Him that men and women have. Men show parts of God's image and women show the other parts, when we are not sinning.

  • What would you teach teenage girls in a Christian youth group about dating relationships and marriage?

They range from 13-17. My thinking is that they should just keep their focus on Jesus and not worry about dating or marriage until they know to some extent, God's plan for their life, so that they don't waste their time and get hurt by a boy/man who either doesn't care about them, or just isn't ready for a relationship like that. There is one guy in the youth group. He is 17 also. I talked this week about how we're all, who believe, brothers and sisters in Christ and that they should treat each other as such because they are young. They asked about relationships and now I have to teach a little more about that aspect and I'm not really sure how to do it. Your insights would be welcome as long as they're mature.
