Mostly I am just here to have fun! But I think I've been getting too enthralled with politics lately...
Solid Gold Dog Food versus Pro Plan?
I don't want to start any fights, but we just adopted a dog who was eating Solid Gold Wolf King Large Breed Adult Dog food. We were told that when he was switched to IAMS, he developed an allergic reaction. (Their vet told them that he needed to avoid foods with fillers.) When we brought him home, we gave him some of the Solid King food and he ignored it. But, he went over to and kept sniffing the bag we had from our previous dog, which was ProPlan Large Breed Adult Dog Food. We pulled some out of the bag and he eagerly ate it.
So my question is: Can anyone attest to dog food allergies and/or whether ProPlan is usually a problem? I know ProPlan is a higher-end food, so I can't believe it has a lot of junk in it, but it does have wheat products in the list of ingredients, and it looks like the Solid Gold does not. I had never heard of Solid Gold before this.
9 AnswersDogs9 years agoMy dog has degenerative myelopathy and is already very far along. Does anyone know how this ends?
My poor doggie has already had one back leg amputated and has just recently lost complete use of the other back leg. He can still pull himself around by his front legs, but he completely drags the back leg. He has a good appetite and does not appear to be in any pain whatsoever. He is still happy to see people and still enjoys laying in the grass.
My husband refuses to put him down. So, the question is...what can we expect? Can he remain this way? I heard it could progress into respiratory or brain nerves. Would he stop being able to breathe? Or stroke out? Has anyone just let their dog live? What happens?
I know he isn't coming back from this...and I just don't want him to be in any pain. If it's a painful death, I'm going to fight to get him put down. But if there is a good chance he can go peacefully, that will be what we do. So if anyone has any experience or knowledge of this, please share.
3 AnswersDogs10 years agoWhat is better Tivo or the cable company's DVR service?
I am looking for opinions on which service is better. My cable company is Comcast. I have the digital cable converter for the Comcast, but my Internet is through Verizon DSL (I guess I can still use that to download the program guide?)
2 AnswersTiVO & DVRs1 decade agoLooking for Christian Rock that isn't sappy...?
I'm sorry and I don't mean to offend. But I want the message without the nasally-voiced, almost a capella singing and without the slow, real-instrument-less music! It would be great if it was real ROCK or even dancey-pop would work. I want the music to be fun and catchy. I would rather it didn't get too hip-hop, though. Any advice from you experts would be fantastic!

Do you believe it? Do you know how it started? If you can't do what you really want, is there a superstition that counteracts it??
3 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoWhat exactly is different about Southwest?
I was told you don't actually get a seat reserved and have to show up really early for your flight. Is that true? If so, how early must I show up?
I would be traveling with an 8 year old and I REALLY REALLY don't want to get "bumped" or whatever they call it.
Also, if you have any other advise to make the Southwest situation more bearable, that would be great. The flight would be to Orlando, FL. in September.

And if they have children, are the children U.S. Citizens?
4 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoSoftware for Pariochial or Catholic School?
I am looking for software for a small Catholic grade school. We need to be able to enter the students into a database, and keep track of whether the parents have paid their monthly tuition and before/after school care bills.
We would REALLY like if it could record (and credit $5 to) families when they volunteer for lunch duty. And also, if it could keep track of fundraising efforts (we credit the families for that, also).
Of course, we would also like to be able to generate monthly statements to the parents.
(And, of course, we'd like it to not be TOO expensive)
Thanks!!
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoWhy do the Obama supporters claim he and Wright are SUCH different people...?
and then try to act like Bush and McCain are the same person?
Oh, yeah, and then talk about the "Bush/Clinton dynasty" (It's only a dynasty if they are on the same side!!!)

4 AnswersElections1 decade agoHow does a woman prepare for divorce?
A girlfriend of mine just told me her husband told her that he plans on taking a job in another state. He has not really discussed this with her much and has not indicated that he wants her (or their 8-year old daughter) to come with him. He says he is going to be a consultant and going to see how it works out. He has found a suitable apartment for a man living alone and has not indicated how often he will come home.
My friend works shift hours and therefore will have to quit her job if he leaves (someone has to pick the daughter up from school, etc.)
All she can do right now is cry, but I feel she should be prepared. However, I am not a lawyer and I don't know what to tell her. They always had separate checking accounts. The house is in her name, but she says she cannot afford the mortgage on her own.
Should she quit her job? He makes a lot more $ than her and has the potential to make more at this new job; however, he will be self-emp'd and may be able to hide $.
7 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWow..is this the way the majority of the country gets to feel after voting for president??
Here in PA, the primaries are usually held so late that the democratic candidate is always already decided. I know you guys don't like this election "dragging on" until now, but I have to say, the entire country should be able to feel like this about the primary!
14 AnswersElections1 decade agoNegative Obama cartoons?
A friend sent me a negative Hilary cartoon and I want to return the favor. ;-) But I can't find ANY Obama cartoons that are even the slightest bit teasingly negative.
